They will undoubtedly ignore the larger issue: if he's too incompetent to seek a second term, he's too incompetent to serve the remaining 6 months of his current term.

Not believable enough:

Listen, fat. Despite being elected with the most votes in American history, I'm dropping out of the campaign for some mysterious reason. But I'm still qualified to serve as president, you dog faced pony soldiers. Want to do a push-up contest out behind the woodshed? Corn pop will referee.

Number one: I'm the first college in my family to President to 81 billion, I mean million, I mean 81 trillion dollars. Um, votes.

Anyway, number three, I have full competence, I mean cognition...uh...confidence in Vice President Trump to take on former President Harrison to the woodshed, but I'm not endorsing her, I mean him, cuz his legs are too hairy, uh, not hairy enough, to win the trunalimunumperzure. Uh, election.

And num...uh...number 2, we need to lower the temperature of the water in my bathtub.

We know that and they know that, but they've been pretending he was fit as a horse and sharp as a tack up until now.

It's only cognitive dissonance that prevents the same group that was calling for him to drop out of the race from also calling for him to step down now.

They have, but a lot of NPC's really believed it. Soon they will be reprogrammed with "Joe has always been completely capable and lucid and he will be up until 11:59pm on Dec 31st; but one second after that he will lose his cognitive capabilities and no longer be fit to serve.

Doctor of education, which does mean she has a PhD, maybe, so by some definitions more or a "doctor" than most, but she's certainly not an MD.

His campaign website is still up. Which to anyone who has worked for a big organization is really weird. Normally a Press Release goes out at a particular time, and that's the "go live" time for everything else related to that PR (such as updates to a campaign website for a candidate who has just dropped out of the race to indicate that)

And just yesterday, he said he was not dropping out. But then, this does line up with what was said earlier this week, when it was claimed he would officially be making his announcement of leaving the race this weekend. Which all goes to show that none of this was his decision. Grampa's too far gone, has no idea what the hell is going on anymore, and won't stop yelling into the mic, which he's been trained to do because it gets him ice cream. So where the hell is his ice cream?!

A shame; I was hoping he'd drag this out all the way to Election Day. The longer he stays in the race, the more disunity he would sow in the Democratic Party. Plus, Trump's going to have to change the gameplan in his campaign, since he can't rely on pointing out how sleepy and useless old Joe is. And I dread what new candidate the Democrats will put up; it could indeed be someone who will rally voters, or at least make the race close enough that the Democrats can safely cheat again..

▲ 11 ▼
– thepalagoon 11 points 1 year ago +11 / -0

If anything this helps Trump because he can't really go in on his attacks the way he can with... literally anyone.

Even while the media was pretending biden wasnt senile, Trump couldn't give him the Jeb treatment because everyone would see him beating up on a senile old man.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 23 ▼
– FromTheShadows 23 points 1 year ago +23 / -0

If Trump's smart, he'll shift the focus to how the Democrats as a whole hid Joe's dementia for years, attacked the people who pointed it out (going up to trying to coin a new buzzword with "cheap fakes") and grew louder about it in the days leading up to the debate.

This is where I'm at. I don't get why people are being so joyous here. I think the left has 50/50 chance of winning this.

They don't have to pivot, or change anything. It's barely going to inconvenience them. They are just going to keep running on the same bullshit "platform" they have been running on: Trump is a felon. Trump is a nazi. Trump is going to implement Project 2025 and round up all the trans people, and put them into death camps. Abortion! Abortion Abortion! Trump is going to help Putin beat the Ukraine. Etc....

So, they are going to keep doing that, and now they are going to absolutely blast the public with, "Trump is the oldest candidate ever!" Go to the front page of reddit now, and take a look. Yeah... They are going to sprinkle in some hefty helpings of, "If the public doesn't like Harris they are a sexist, and a racist. Our country shamefully let sexism keep the most qualified candidate ever out! Are we really going to do that against?! Think of your daughters!"

In any event, this is going to be a referendum, but not the one everyone thinks it is. It is going to be a referendum on the system of indoctrination and propaganda the left has constructed, and whether or not it can push yet another candidate across the finish line, because let's not act like that's not what happened with Biden in 2020. The guy wasn't forced to have a campaign, or a platform. It was simply the media (traditional, and tech) running 24/7 propaganda against Trump, and then universal mail in voting. The same system will be brought to bear here, and there are more than enough stupid fucking people that it will work on.

I've said this so many times, but it's still true. On November 7th, if the left is forced out of power, I will be the happiest person in the world. Regardless of what comes of it, I will finally be able to enjoy a small reprieve at them destroying my country. That being said, I still think this is 50/50. They only need their machine to swing a couple percent, in a couple of states.

I mean, that's working under multiple false assumptions, I think.

The establishment right is not trying to win, not really. Rightwing voters' own party will happily hide the crimes of, and cover for, their "opponents."

And the people don't have a whole lot of actual power. Outside of going full boog, how do you propose "right wingers" stop the steal, while working within the system that's set up to screw us?

Also, does that standard apply to other countries, too? Is it the fault of rightwing voters in the UK that everything is shit, for example?

It was probably several different components (mob ballots, harvesting, fraudulent counting, etc) and any of them now directed by Jill Biden will be against Kamala or whoever the superdelegates pick.

This is what the donors refuse to understand: Joe Biden is more popular than anyone on the ticket. Nobody comes close.

The dem establishment know he won't win, but there's no chance anyone else will.

Robert Barnes is throwing out a wild card of Dwayne Johnson because he could do a better promo than Trump and over-power his machismo, and he's effectively unknown politically so they can ascribe whatever positions they want to him. But, man, that's a fucking hail mary.

Part of me thinks that Clinton might try to run, and separately, I'd like to see RFK try to push his way into the Dem convention.

Oh Hillary is running, right now, you can count on that. She's behind the scenes talking to superdelegates and pulling strings. We might not see public signs of it except for a cryptic tweet or two, but it's happening.

In her mind Trump is damaged by 8 years of attacks, her image has recovered by people forgetting that she's awful, and Biden could win from his basement.

She's like a cat with the Presidency dangled in front of her. She simply can't resist trying to pounce on it.

Any takers on the assassination attempt being part of the plan? Even if Trump survived, they had this in mind?

As much as the attempt rallied Trump's base, it seems to have rallied the Dems too after Joe was floundering about. The Dems are probably banking on their last resort of "Vote Blue No Matter Who" combined with election fortification.

Nah, I think the Democratic party is in complete disarray. The assassination attempt, whether it was a party-backed inside job or not, threw a monkey wrench into their plans, which were already falling apart since the debate. Trump is surging in popularity like never before and all the media's attempts to attack or downplay him are falling flat. Biden is looking and getting worse with each passing day, and their attempts to salvage him with things like the Ukraine presser and the Big Boy conference backfired horribly. The Democratically-aligned Secret Service and their DEI hires are getting unwanted attention. And the party itself has been divided over what they should do with Biden, and more than that, who they should replace him with. Whatever they're doing right now, it's being done in haste.
