Leftists are literal bug defenders

Only humans, well, White humans anyway, villify themselves for successfully colonizing some place.
Bunnies don't care they are displacing native species when they establish a successfull population on a new island or continent.
The Eskimos don't villify themselves for colonizing the Arctic / Greenland and exterminating the previous inhabitants ( in fact, they often like to LARP as ''indigenous'' and are sometimes entertained as such, because ''indigenous'' seem to mean ''anyone there at least 5 minutes before White people showed up ) ).
White people have indigenous lands too. They’re currently being invaded.
That's different though because white people are a mindless pathogen that spreads and kills.
See, Starship Troopers is "fascist" because they dehumanize the gentile Arachnid refugees, and dehumanization is wrong!
BTW, never forget that white people have a virus in their brain
/s if it's needed.
As usual, leftists are the fascists here, by their own definitions.
Also, in the source material, we ally with another alien species against the arachnids because they want to kill everyone and everything.
It's also about soldiers in power armor who use tactical nukes, but Paulie never actually read the book like an asshole.
How many fucking examples are there of that bullshit from hollywood. I hate them so much.
He's proud of that fact. He started all this bullshit.
Didn’t know that, but now that you mention it, I can’t think of an earlier example.
I bet George Lucas never read any of the Star Wars books before making A New Hope, just like with KK and not reading any of the EU!
/s
I'm sure there were bad adaptations before that, but nobody bragged about it.
Would you like to know more?
If that Henry Cavill Warhammer 40k series get through production and is a sincere adaptation the leftists who whinge at Starship Troopers enjoyers are going to lose their minds. I hope the introduction to xenos are the Genestealers just to drive the point home.
Cavill's 40k is one of the few things in media I've been looking forward to. Amazon becoming the production company made me worried. Amazon's recent statements about pushing even more diversity has me more worried. Since Games Workshop has showed nothing but contempt for their fans, I don't doubt they'll capitulate to the globohomo bullshit. Sad.
All they have to do is give the series over to Cavill and the dude who made the astartes short film. Instant massive hit.
That would make fans happy, non-fans interested in the franchise, and boost revenue. So very unlikely.
Didn't Games Workshop go after the Astarte's guy (Syama Pedersen) hard? I'm almost surprised they handed over rights to Amazon but they are both driven by woke bullshit.
A movie made by Syama Pedersen and a team of his choosing would be amazing. Even for people unaware of 40K stuff. Dune did alright and I would bet most of the people who saw it never read the book(s).
Hell, even if Verhoeven directed it, it would probably be unintentionally
goodbased. They literally "made him an offer he couldn't refuse." Work for GW, or GW would go after him legally. Astartes came down, got reuploaded to GW+ (with lens flares and shitty sound effects added), and so far no more output from him.
Games Workshop is asshole. Remember this, as this is important.
More seriously, they tend to go after every fanwork for 40K. Which is stupid, as I'd put down good money on a horde of new 40K fans being due to Astartes and TTS, but GW is not known for good decision making.
While I enjoyed the movie I love the book much more
This is the correct opinion.
It's a very good book. It took a second reading of it to fully appreciate though. The first time I read it I was just looking to the source material in an effort to find more content of space marines squaring off against bugs, which the opening and closing of the book seem to provide well enough. The middle section just kind of rolled over me though.
Years later I went back again and was able to actually digest more of the philosophy. By that point I'd also spent a few years working with former military guys so the sections about basic training helped to understand some of where those guys were coming from, both in terms of experiences as well as mind set. Up until that point I'd always had a surface level understanding of boot camp that was informed by sensationalized media that made it seem that it was a whole lot of drill sergeants being mean for the sake of being mean. Now along comes this sci-fi book to lay it out that no, there's actually a reason for all of that and it makes a hell of a lot of sense.
After seeing the movie first I always interpreted the book as in line with the movie narrative. Johnny Rico is clearly beat down in boot camp and at one point admits to like routine hypnosis as part of his “battle readiness”. The dudes family is like consumed by the military industrial complex and the hypnosis is a bizarre inclusion in like a supposed utopia. Apparently Heinleins like later writings support the theory that he was being sincere with Starship Troopers, but there’s no way he believed that shit AND wrote stranger in a strange land at the same time.
This is an asinine take, the "hypnosis" is how they were given the battle plan and how they checked for mental illness.
In the opening of the book they made a guy sit out of the battle for a slight fever. Definitely the actions of hypnotized fanatics.
That's more effort than the guy who made the movie put in.
muh fascism
bad thing = fascism
(yeah I could believe the movie was intended as a "satire of fascism" because Verhoeven is a moron)
Does know how to make an entertaining movie, tho
Is the secret to add nipples? 🤔
Can't disagree there, his movies were fun.
The usual answer is "Because they think it will vote Democrat."
Or hate white people to a sufficient degree. Although there's a ton of overlap, so I suppose that's somewhat redundant.
I mean part of the argument people made about why ST was fascist was cause the main heroes were white and good looking....
For some context, Leftists on twitter have been defending the bugs from starship troopers cause the troopers are 'fascists'.

They've been brainwashed to hate fascists, Nazis, White supremacists, White nationalists, and just ordinary White people so much that they'd defend robbers, rapists, pedophiles, murderers, and genociders if it was an either/or choice, even if the former are shown to be perfectly justified, or have done nothing wrong, even in fictional media, just because they hate White people so much.
You're not wrong. I asked my leftoid cousin what is worst: to be a rapist, or be a racist. He said racist was worst. Yes, harboring an opinion is worse than actually raping someone, in the mind of a leftist.
Maybe he's just a rapist.
I mean it does sound like what a rapist would say
I hope you asked them to bend over and get ready or you were gonna say nigger.
We, unfortunately, see it all over the place.
It's why parents of slaughtered children will often come out and say "we forgive our children's rapists/bullies/robbers/killers/terrorists", or they'll say "don't use our child's death to push your hate". Their child could have been tortured and killed in the most horrific ways, and they'll still spout the lines. There's tons of programmed people all over social media who say "don't spread this story, or the attacker's identity, because it will give fuel to the racists". It doesn't matter how much the patterns go one way, how many people are harmed or killed because of the lies, they must repeat the lies and stay within the confines of their programming.
Even non leftists bend the knee to it. That's why the normie right wingers, which are almost exclusively White people, still repeat the same "we're all one race, the human race", despite mountains of evidence to the contrary (voting habits, crime stats, welfare use, DNA, IQ studies, architecture, art, simple observable behavior). You could even argue that all the races are equal, but advocate for everyone to live with their own kind in their own countries (purely for socio-economic factors), and they'll still call you a racist Nazi hate-monger. The clue to the programming is that they use the exact same language and arguments as the left.
They still don't understand that we're not driven primarily by hate, but by love of our own people, a wish to protect them, to live among our own. It also escapes them that hate, when driven by truth and love of good, is righteous and justified, and a good motivator for effective action (which is why it's so thoroughly demonized in the propaganda). Good people who are capable of love, but incapable of hating that which is harming them and everything/everyone they love are worthless creatures, incapable of sustaining or protecting a damned thing, consigning to oblivion anything and anyone unlucky enough to fall upon the gaze of those with ill intent.
They think all of those are the same thing, emphasis on the inclusion of ordinary White people in that list.
Which makes it incredibly obvious this is all just White genocide priming propaganda, to make White people feel bad and to remain inactive, and to tell non-whites who to hate and target.
After the brain bug is finished with you, you become an active and outspoken liberal.
Then they are exactly what the director of the movie was hoping for.
Because he thinks "American" means all those things and that people should instantly have made that connection from the movie.
The funny part is the director was trying to mock fascism (but only when White people do it), but made it look pretty decent, and made a good "kill bugs...would you like to know more?" kind of scifi/horror/action movie at the same time. I've heard the book (as usual) has a lot more subtlety. For example, the main protagonist was Brazilian, but the movie director changed him, and most of the main cast, to beautiful White people, in an attempt to mock the (White) fascists.
The book is an actual deep philosophical piece with war as the central pillar all the thoughts are based around. Its raises a lot of questions, and portrays a lot of its points as superior, but you can still find flaws within it to disagree with and question if its truly as wonderful as it appears.
The movie tries to only portray a single point of view, with so little subtlety it doubles back and becomes a mockery of itself. Which manages to cancel out and just leave an awesome action movie.
He also added the entire love triangle bullshit to the movie, including genderswapping Diz and turning Carmen from a throwaway character, entirely because he thought that little of Americans.
Ironic that its the only part of the movie everyone agrees was awful and tacked on garbage (sans the extra titties).
They do know they are the troopers right?
Pro government, shared bathrooms, women choosing careers over men, anti-religious, willing to hang people that disagree with them, war happy, willing to destroy their own cities for support, grooming kids to support their views, voter control, convinced vaginas eat brains, need their news in quick 10 second clips, ...You know this list doesn't seem to end.
Don't forget in the third movie the all singing, all dancing, [not hyperbole], psychic Sky Marshal who goes more native than anyone else in any of the movies is basically Justin Trudeau.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB6Xq-jjzeE
Also take note of the "diverse" backing singers around 44 seconds in.
The people they've been told are the enemy side with the UCF, so thus they must side with the bugs.
No, self aware leftists exist, they're just called "evil". Vaush, Hasan, Chunk Yogurt come to mind.
I dunno -- I don't think any of those guys are aware of much of anything except horse dicks.
I guess that's not fair to Hasan. He's not into bestiality as far as I'm aware. He's just an idiot.
"WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?" This is a movie made by the same director as Robocop, of course its being tongue in cheek about militarism. I remember the humans are colonizing space but I can't remember if it's stated humans are invading bug territory or if it's the bugs invading humans.
The former. Were the bugs even space-capable? I don't remember any actual evidence of the bugs being behind the destruction of Buenos Aires.
Yes, they had a whole interplanetary empire. The Federation declared the entire Bug empire a quarantine zone to try to prevent any conflict between them and the Bugs. Some independent human groups (darn you Mormons!) breaking off from the Federation chose to settle within the quarantine zone. After they were wiped out, the Federation government broadcast footage of these attacks, telling people to stay the heck out of the quarantine zone, and took no offensive actions until Buenos Ares.
At least two separate asteroids originate in Bug space, on a course for Earth. The first one clips a Federation ship and continues on it's course straight at Buenos Ares. The second one was aimed at South Africa before missile batteries blew it up. I'm sure that's just a coincidence though.
No, the humans 'say' they have an empire, what we see is a handful of planets that were already occupied by the bugs god knows how many years ago.
There's thousands of asteroids in the galaxy heading 'for earth', they just stumbled across one of the endless ones that would've missed earth by a million miles anyways.
CGI propaganda, bugs do not have the knowledge or capability to launch FTL asteroids at planets they've never heard of before.
You are working backwards from the message you wish to achieve and then filling in blank spots with "evidence" that will prove it for you.
Ah yes, another moron who takes the word of someone who never read the book, brags about it, and made a movie with the exact opposite message.
The bugs have space flight, have an empire, and the humans fought them on multiple different planets while being allied with another alien species after making peace with them because the bugs are a huge threat.
The federation is actually losing the war for most of the book.
The movie has absolutely nothing to do with the book. They're completely different fictions except for their name.
You can fuck off with that nonsense. If you adapt something poorly you don't get to pretend that your shit ain't shit just because it's sEpARaTe.
You want to make your own shit? Make your own shit. Don't steal other shit and bastardize it. By that dumbass logic all the bad book adaptations are above criticism. I bet you liked the Eargon movie too you hack.
Complain to Paul Verhoven, not anonymous internet people. His version of the series was continued for a lot longer than the book, make of that what you will.
Sci-fi space bugs have exactly the knowledge and capacity to do whatever the author wishes.
Brain bugs? Frankly, I find the idea of a bug that thinks offensive.
Go fuck yourself retard.
but you remember evidence of the humans being behind it?
These retards will say this stupid shit while plastering the ukraine and Palestine flags on their profiles while crying "we gotta protect our global interests!
IT'S AN UGLY POST IT'S A BUG POST
These lefty cretins are weak, pathetic, and evil. Not sure what else to say.
Speaking of Starship Troopers, Helldivers 2 also has you fighting bugs in the name of Managed Democracy™ and the glory of Super Earth.
There got to be some sort of push, for helldivers 2. Not even Starship Troopers: Extermination or Starship Troopers: Terran Command was being shilled as much, and this is for rootkit infested "anti-cheat" in order to protect their mtx store. I meant they can't even be arsed to increase server cap on flex due to being so cheap even though the game itself is built for p2p which means only their mtx and auth servers are overloaded...
we're in the Age of Fads in the gaming industry right now. a moment ago it was palworld, two moments ago it was buckshot roulette, three moments ago it was lethal company, now it's helldivers, etc... hell, i'm probably forgetting something because every single game lasts all of two days.
Yea, true that its the age of tiktok/shorts. Still I'm surprised that it has spread even here to this obscure forum, I did think we were a slightly more concerning customer.
This is an astute observation.
I think I'll just double down on my current approach of just slowly working through my backlog and adding games to said backlog that have been out long enough to get properly vetted as a quality product rather than just the latest trend. This approach has worked well for years now and if this is how the industry is gonna go I see no reason to change it up now.
Its a 1st Party Sony product. That's all you need to know about its push and why it got so much visibility over any other game.
After that its just momentum, as always. You get enough people talking about your game and it sells itself for months.
I guess they got to sell those end of life PS5 somehow xD
You can just play on pc
HAHAHAHA
The little they have reveled of their infrastructure does not minimize the problem nor improve by swapping the hardware.
That game is probably the main reason all this discussion of ST has come up recently
If you can even get into the servers. The servers have been a shitshow this last week
Semi related- just looked up starship troopers on audible and RC Bray has a narration of the original coming out march 26th
I'm surprised OP didn't post this at the same time but Sargon's video on Starship Troopers is the defining answer to any questions about this movie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVpYvV0O7uI
Long video at 53 mins but well worth it as it's very entertaining.
Spoiler, the universe, in both the book and even movie is a highly meritocratic and liberal society.
Mostly cause i haven't had the time to watch it yet so i didn't want to post it until i had
they ARE the bugs.
They really need to read the book instead of relying on that cartoon of a movie.
Humans and the bugs were expanding into the same section of the galaxy and the bugs (or their hive mind) decided they didn't like the competition and started opening wormholes and throwing rocks at earth. They knew about humans before humans even had an inkling sentient bugs existed.
So humans only started punching back after sneak attacks on already established human colonies.
Well they are bugmen.
This is the one time where I do not want to know more. The more ignorant I am about ignorant fiction defenders, the better.
Tell them those bug screeches translate to "daddy more" and they're kinkshaming an interspecies, queer, polyamorous, podple right now.
See the euphoria on their face as they imagine the depravity.
What did Sargon mean by this?
It's a warrior, in the film that "intelligent animal" is about on par with a shitlib at a queers for Palatine rally.
Karl should resume his streams with Louise Le Vau
Ehhh... that's easy to argue against though. Just replace "arachnid warrior" with polar bear and the statement becomes silly. Unless you're arguing for war against polar bears. Just because something is capable of great violence doesn't mean it's evil. Not saying we should necessarily SYMPATHIZE with the arachnids, but just automatically assuming they're evil is a bit silly.
The bug warriors are like tyranid warriors. They're just made to kill and have no individual personality at all. That's just their nature.
Ahh yes because the bugs who can't even build a damned car, managed to launch a meteorite across the galaxy to nail a specific city on a planet no bug has ever actually seen in person? THAT makes sense.
Protip, the humans are the baddies in the film, the bugs are mostly mindless critters, but they're not pure evil.
Protip: you're wrong about nearly everything and have been taken in by Veerhoven being a hack and not adapting the source material properly.
But you're probably ok with that, since it seems to push a lefty agenda right?
I don't imagine they were aiming at BA specifically, just Earth.
Best case scenario: hit a population center like what the movie die
Worst case: miss a population center but cause a nuclear winter/fuck up the weather with all the dust and other shit thrown up into the air.
It's why the general idea of mass drivers has such a wide appeal in many sci-fi settings, all you are doing is throwing large rocks at an even larger rock.
It does make sense, because it's what happened in the movie. Sorry you got suckered in by somebody 5 IQ points smarter than you saying "it's satire" 15-20 years ago.
The calculations necessary to launch a giant rock across space and time and hit an densely populated city on a spinning planet rotating around a sun moving around a galaxy moving though the universe would be nearly impossible to achieve even with a brain bug.
But it’s science fiction. Tongue in cheek sci fi at that.
