I was pointing out that culture is determined by more than just values. There is music, folklore, art, religious views, food, language, traditions, history. But culturally an Englishman and an Austrian is quite different. A Scotsman and a Hungarian will have just as many differing traditions as they do similar. There's been entire studies done on this topic, too, after WW2. One little known fact about WW2, was that the police and soldiers who rounded up people were allowed to say no at any time if they didn't want to participate. There would be no punishment at all. The thing is, that very few people actually chose this option. The majority of those who did participate in those atrocities did so not only because "it was my job" but because they felt beholden to other Police Officers/Soldiers and didn't want them to "carry the burden alone."

If it comes down to it, you could simply choose to ignore the person altogether if it's something that you feel pushes you away. The point is more that people should be able to express such views without fear of someone coming up and harassing them if they choose to do so. That's far more important than the why they would do it. There shouldn't be an argument about anyone's ideology at all to begin with. That's not to say a discussion can't be had, however, a discussion and someone just coming up because they're triggered are two totally different things.
Living in a free society should mean being able to express both good and bad ideas. Ideas that people like and ideas that people hate. It's why the First Amendment is the very foundation of this country — as well as the first thing they declared.

In reality, we shouldn't take the political opinions of nearly any college student seriously to begin with. I can't believe this even needs to be said, but people often forget the most simple of things: similar peoples act similar. White people absolutely share culture across different white societies, that would be much more divergent if the race was different. The same is true for every race. This doesn't mean there can be infinite variation within each race, only that an astute observer can to see the similarities, differences, and categorize accordingly.
There are white nationalist and white supremacist writings all over the internet that discuss similarities between white cultures far better and in depth than I've gone into, if you care to look into it yourself. Even if you disagree with their views, they have valid points about this topic, which would be idiotic to ignore.
I have no desire to read anything by white nationalist or white supremacist. I never said they shared all of the same values or that all Asian cultures did. I was pointing out that culture is determined by more than just values. There is music, folklore, art, religious views, food, language, traditions, history. A lot of white cultures share values based on them being on the same continent and at one point sharing similar religious beliefs and connections to the Roman Empire, and centuries of trade, even the renaissance. But culturally an Englishman and an Austrian is quite different. A Scotsman and a Hungarian will have just as many differing traditions as they do similar. They will have different holidays and customs. It’s the same reason many Asian cultures place value on the lunar new year. It’s due to trade and connections to other regional powers for centuries and absolutely nothing to do with their skin color.

One little known fact about WW2, was that the police and soldiers who rounded up people were allowed to say no at any time if they didn't want to participate. There would be no punishment at all. The thing is, that very few people actually chose this option. The majority of those who did participate in those atrocities did so not only because "it was my job" but because they felt beholden to other Police Officers/Soldiers and didn't want them to "carry the burden alone."

I was pretty drunk and not in the mood for some bitch to ruin the vibe I had going and cockblock me, The girl I was with was really timid, kind, and sweet, so she was just sitting there quietly taking it and telling me to ignore it, but I didn't want to anymore, so I did something I normally didn't do and just went off on her.
I told her it was apparent the only thing she had been hitting lately was the snack bar, and that she looked like a scoop of ice cream melting in the sun. I went to town picking apart her clothes, her hair, her makeup, absolutely everything — and I was loud about it, too, because she had been very loud in calling the girl I was with all sorts of awful shit. She ended up a complete sobbing mess. There's a bit more to the story after but not really worth mentioning.
The point is, that method "is super effective." More than I ever would have thought before it happened.

In what way is the story ambiguous? Where in the world did you get the idea that I was hitting on a girl with a boyfriend? I thought I made it pretty clear I was with a girl; that the other girl who was with her boyfriend were the ones antagonizing; that the other girl's boyfriend had a crush on the girl I was with in the past; and that the other girl was the one who kept approaching us.
This was at the beginning of the whole woke phenomena anyway. It was a local dive that I frequented at the time, so there was no way in hell that I was going to go to jail for some bitch. When she tried getting her boyfriend to fight me to "defend her" I immediately told him to try it, at which point he grabbed the girl and left, despite her protests and anger.

The problem isn’t about kowtowing to others about your political beliefs, but the fact that it shouldn’t be the first thing people know about each other from a distance (because it just leads to only bad-faith conversations) and they’re so generic that people will not argue with your ideology but the vague idea they think your ideology is. For example, I see someone with a Bernie sticker. Are they socialist? A Marxist? Maybe just a liberal? Maybe not even a liberal, just someone who likes outsider politicians? If the point is self-expression, then it tells me Jack-all except that you think your political expression is important enough to advertise, but not enough to give it the due diligence of expressing it in a way so that others have an actually good grasp of what it is.
But it's no one else's responsibility to educate or inform others. That lies solely with the individual. Furthermore, anyone that would judge a person based solely on that isn't someone worth associating with to begin with. There was a time when people would see those things and wouldn't automatically jump to conclusions and assume the absolute worst about another person.
If it comes down to it, you could simply choose to ignore the person altogether if it's something that you feel pushes you away. The point is more that people should be able to express such views without fear of someone coming up and harassing them if they choose to do so. That's far more important than the why they would do it. There shouldn't be an argument about anyone's ideology at all to begin with. That's not to say a discussion can't be had, however, a discussion and someone just coming up because they're triggered are two totally different things.
Living in a free society should mean being able to express both good and bad ideas. Ideas that people like and ideas that people hate. It's why the First Amendment is the very foundation of this country — as well as the first thing they declared.
That's why I get pissed off at retards who call for speech restrictions, too. I'm not sure how they reconcile shit in their head. The First Amendement was literally created to protect things deemed "hate-speech" — or, at the very least, speech that wasn't popular at all in society.
Why, exactly, would anyone need to declare free speech for "love-speech"? Of course Governments, Elites, and people in general would be perfectly fine with hearing speech they like and agree with. There wouldn't even need to be laws against such a thing to begin with. It was meant so people could express views people didn't want to hear, because sometimes, that's what needs to be said most.

I agree. The only caveat I'd put is if you're there specifically for the purpose of entering into the world of politics for one reason or another. At that point, keeping your political leanings a secret would be pretty much impossible anyway, unless you never spoke in classes and didn't participate in any political clubs (which would be a big mistake). Those are the only people it makes sense for to me.
In reality, we shouldn't take the political opinions of nearly any college student seriously to begin with. It's not an insult to them, they're just flat-out ignorant and uninformed at that point in life. They lack any pracitcal experience or wisdom and are only capable of parroting what others tell them.
The fact that we do take their opinion so seriously — to the terrifying degree of implementing societal changes — is nothing short of pure stupidity.
Again, that doesn't mean they shouldn't have a say in things and it doesn't mean that they have no clue what's happening in current-day society, it's that at that age they're very easily manipulated and coerced into things, because almost all of them are desperate to prove they're "adults" and they're far more likely to be agreeable to whatever helps them feel like they fit in to "adult society."
