why is it stupid to be proud of your peoples history and their achievements? they are your kin, in a way, and just like a father, brother, uncle can and should be proud of the achievements of their close kin, so you should be proud of the greater family you are part of.
that lack of ingroup loyalty, faith and love is the fucking problem with the west.
that lack of feeling connected enables outsiders to come in and subvert and take over western societies.
I've got the red hair gene. I'm looking around, and not a lot of "white" people seem to have it. They are missing a critical gene of commonality. Just as a black person may not have the same melanin levels in their genetics, so too does a white person not have the same red hair levels.
If I am proud of the "greater family", then I'm proud of the human who made transportable refridgeration, a black man. If the "greater family" requires closer genetics, then Germans, French, Italians, Spaniards all need to get lost, too.
Because where is the line? The line ever-moves.
I am proud of my own accomplishments, and respect the accomplishments of humanity as a whole, but do not lay claim to them for merely sharing a trait or two.
It’s like being proud that you are left handed. It’s not something you had any part of achieving so taking pride in it is stupid. And it seems there are a lot of people new to Kia2 thinking not being proud of some stupid uncontrollable trait also means to be ashamed of some stupid uncontrollable trait. It doesn’t.
on the one hand you have cultures who didnt advance past the stone age until other civilizations arrived
on the other you have those cultures that created monuments that lasted thousands of years, who created art and literature and philosophy and systems of government, and yet you are supposed to feel no pride in belonging to one group over another?
it is true that just belonging to one particular culture or race doesnt make you, yourself automatically better than people of another culture or race, still i dont see a reason why feeling proud of your culture is wrong or stupid.
Because it’s the same as being proud you rolled well on a craps table, or got dealt the best possible hand in poker. It was all chance. Nothing wrong with celebrating a cultures achievements. But don’t take pride in the accomplishments of those who came before you, you didn’t make those great things happen. Just like you bare no shame in any thing awful your culture/country/ancestors may have done in history.
If you need the feeling of pride in something do something great yourself. Don’t rely on those who came before you.
Nope most of my ancestry is traced back to the uk and maybe some French and German post colonization. Neither proud or ashamed of it. It’s just path different genes took to make me.
It must be tough going through life hating a whole group of people who you claim are weak and inferior and yet at the same time have so much power to destroy society and exert control over governments.
The only person with a big nose here is you. It’s also red and honks when you squeeze it….. because you are a clown.
My handedness has been both a hinderance and a secret skill. My brain had to rewire itself to navigate a right-oriented world, which gave my abstract thinking skills a real boost. I am also adept to the arts. I've found success in the creative fields, mostly writing and music. I can also play six instruments. My handedness has been a pretty big factor in my life, unlike a mole. But you're just being a snarky dickhead kid anyway.
It’s not something you had any part of achieving so taking pride in it is stupid.
And yet being left handed massively effected my life and abilities, enough so that I do feel accomplished in adapting and overcoming the hardships that it brought about however minor they were in the grand scheme.
Almost exactly like something all races might go through!
The hard ship of being sought after to play baseball? Or the awkwardness of driving a stick shift in the US? Coming from an ambidextrous person I don’t see being left hand dominate as neither something that would be a hardship or major benefit other than pitching and hitting in baseball.
And your achievements would be made by you actually achieving something personally. Your achievements mean shit to any other left handed person. Any left handed person who is proud of your achievements because they too are left handed is stupid.
It’s like being proud to be white because Henry Ford came up with the assembly line and was also white. You didn’t achieve that. Stop taking pride in the accomplishments of greater men. Unless you want to take on collective embarrassment or guilt done by lesser men you also share a trait with. Jimmy Carter was an idiot who turned over the Panama Canal and he was white. Or any of Joe Biden’s colossal fuck ups done over the past 8 months. You want to take the blame for his stupid accomplishments too?
So you have no idea the struggle when you have no option but to use stuff specifically made not for you, but you think you do and dismiss it. Instead you literally have the best of all worlds available to you, but think other people don't really have problems when they aren't so lucky. Well done, that's the dumbest shit I've seen all day.
How about failing classes because your hand dragging across paper smears the pencil so significantly its entirely a black smudge? Numerous shop tools made for the comfort/accessibility of right handed people, leading to incredibly awkward, painful or unsafe usage when in a Left hand? Being openly and constantly screamed at as a child because you "aren't doing it right" by authority figures?
Little shit like that adds up to little bits of pride when you overcome it, even if its a minor part of life. I wouldn't even put it in my biography its so minor, but its your dumb example.
I don't really care about people's whiteness. I care that you are so blind you can't see the difference between "I'm proud of how I was born" and "I'm proud that I overcame struggles that came about because of how I was born."
"My dad gave me his classic car when I turned 16, but since I didn't pay for it I shouldn't be proud of it." - You, a retard that takes no pride in his culture and the achievements of his forefathers
No. I never said that.
I'm merely saying that being proud of the fact that you happened to be born black or white is stupid.

Name checks out.

I'm proud that I'm left-handed..
Might as well be proud of a mole on your body or a birth mark too in that case

Having pride in what your ancestors accomplished is different than thinking you're better than others because of your skin color. Dumbass.
