What is fact is in the original comics April actually was a computer programmer. Being a reporter was a change of the animated series.

They couldve at least had the other aprils as well. They have multiple variations of each turtle, shredder, splinter. For the spiderman mtg, they had miles and original spiderman and as well as like a dozen different spiderman. Even a spider pig..
But for this tmnt, so far no sign of red head april or black hair april.

Every female character now is either a reporter or a hacker, or a reporter who becomes a hacker, or a hacker who becomes a reporter.
She was originally a programmer/assistant working for Stockman in the comics. She helped program the original Mouser bots. Reporter was done for the animated series.

They also had a black Aragorn amongst many others from Lord of the Rings years ago. Wizards of the Coast is so woke it's often indistinguishable from parody. Their D&D arm is the same: they did rules for wheelchair combat, and eliminated all stat differences and alignment restrictions on races (actual Orcs, not their IRL equivalent). Anything they publish heavily features blacks and women whenever anything is depicted positively and has for years.

yeah final fantasy, and currently spiderman which is flopping. next thing being released is avatar airbender which is next month. then in 2026 it is teenage mutant ninja turtles, then hobbit, then marvel heroes slop, and then star trek.
Some of these just make no sense to me. Spider Man doesn't belong in Magic, neither does Fallout or TMNT. But it makes them money I guess.
Yeah. Its why final fantasy was successful a few months ago. It had a magic theme, it had not ugly female chase cards, and it had serialized cards like a card having only 76 copies and each copy is numbered 1 to 76.
Spiderman was a "flop" aka didnt sell for 2x or 3x price.
They made Aragorn black, so I would not be surprised by anything they do. I will never let MtG live that down, that is their legacy now.

I noticed.. with spiderman, they had all sorts of alt spidermans.. with this tmnt, they have a few variations of each turtle, but with this one, i dont think they even put in other versions of april. Black hair original april or the red head april we are most familiar with.
However no black facial features, you could literally just change the skin color and she's back to being white.

Individuals that say she is black like to refer to that one popular cover. Even in that cover, she looks more like a tanned Cher (the singer).
There's a Razor clip (that I can't find) where he talks about that, and apparently that cover artist was dating a half-Latina who had asked for "Cher hair", and used her for the model of April.

Sure. But not the one we grew up and liked. As i said, it seems the other universe mtg have multiple variations of characters. Spiderman mtg had miles, original, 12 different suits and even spider pig.
Each turtle, shredder and splinter has variations too. But so far, no variations that we know of of red head april or the original black design.
