Fun fact, if you rearrange the letters in Gingers you get what this 'modernized' version of April is.
It happens to too many canonically redheaded characters to be a coincidence.

I've read that red hair used to be a sign of low class in Victorian times. I suppose it makes sense that there's a relationship there.
That's literally the point made in the other reply that was posted 7 hours before your own.
I swear it started with south park and this is just the snowball. If the meme was "fingers have TEN SOULS EACH" and the zeitgeist had been "treasure it when you see it", it wouldn't be as easy absorbing the higher levels of pushback for eliminating gingers in their racial-handover process
