Wasn't she a reporter? Not a "hacktivist".
Every female character now is either a reporter or a hacker, or a reporter who becomes a hacker, or a hacker who becomes a reporter.
She was originally a programmer/assistant working for Stockman in the comics. She helped program the original Mouser bots. Reporter was done for the animated series.
But "hacktivist" is current-day drivel.
If she's a professional programmer, by definition that's not hacking.
Don't forget the movies
Yeah, they kept it there, but the animated series predates the first movie by 2-3 years.
