Mug shots always look like shit, but man..... What has happened to them?
Believe it or not but that’s actually better than he’s looked in his last few streams.
I was subbed to his channel because of the Rittenhouse thing and would get recommended his streams every now and then, and every time he had a glas of some hard liquor.
Drugs and alcohol it seems
I'm only vaguely aware of the guy because of his tertiary connection to a podcast I listen too. But from what I hear yeah meth and swinging really seems to have destroyed these people.
This is the most destructive mid-life crisis I’ve ever seen.
And they have five kids who are home schooled, so those kids are going to feel it the most
Don’t worry, I heard Vito Guisualdi has agreed to look after Nick’s kids.
But speaking seriously though that’s part of the reason that Nick’s decline has been so shitty:
In addition to having an entertaining channel that did a great job covering the big court cases of the day it was refreshing to see a stable guy with a loving family find so much success. Finding out he’s just another hedonistic libertarian coomer is disappointing, and finding out he exposed his kids to that lifestyle is infuriating.
The most destructive mid-life crisis you've seen so far.
He could still decide to represent himself...
That’s the season finale, and then next year we get the jailhouse lawyer arc.
GROUNDZ!
begins hastily constructing a judge-proof fort out of document boxes
Maybe choose better vices next time, good grief.
They could try some virture, vice don't seem to fit them.
The Rise and Fall of the House of Rekieta
I heard that he and his wife had become quite debauched, so I guess the rumors were true. The fame must have gone to his head.
Here's a stream of him and his wife from less than two years ago, and both of them look so different, and his wife looks very healthy.
https://www.youtube.com/live/Bc2Cni19M8Q?si=EMImvaAuy4dQds-U&t=2147
New circle of parasite hanger ons I'd wager. That always seems to be a thing.
Having money and being in bumfuck nowhere in the upper midwest is a recipe for meth. Way to fucking go, Rackets.
Well....uh....huh.
HUH.
I will say, it looks like the gun charges (not a lawyer, but based on language) are potentially only because of the drugs. We'll just have to wait and see how it shakes out. He had guns, that was well known. Once you get busted for the drugs I guess you're a prohibited gun owner, though.
And, yeah, as someone else said, his wife is looking roooough. I'd only see pictures like once or twice, but she looks completely different...and much, much worse.
I wish them the best (unless there was more nefarious shit, of course), and we'll just have to see what's what as more information gets out. He's got a lot of enemies, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that someone sicced the authorities on him over some minor bullshit but, again, as mentioned, his wife looking so rough makes me suspect there were some hard drugs going around.
I wonder how they got caught, too. It will be an interesting story, I'm sure. One way or the other.
It's actually worse, much worse. Notice how the charge is 'user of controlled substances', because section 922 of the federal criminal code just says any user of controlled substances
This technically has no time limit - which is why Hunter Biden (as much as I usually say haha fuck that guy) is being charged, we know he used drugs, he's admitted it, so him having a firearm ever is technically chargeable.
Thankfully this is being challenged in court, but holy shit it is bad.
I can understand not allowing operating firearms while under the influence but just possessing them should have nothing directly to do with the drugs
And that exact argument is currently bubbling up to scotus. Under the Bruen test there is no history, text, or tradition of barring drug users from possessing firearms in general.
Any analogous laws related to alcohol deal with the actual use of firearms while also under the influence, not possession in general.
Put more simply, while they may have made it illegal for the drunk to wave his gun around, nobody in the past would have thought it was okay to prevent him from owning a gun at all or use it when he was sober.
I remember reading the bruen decision and reading that line where that 'test' was described, and almost crying because it spells doom for all the freedom hating fucks, it will just take time.
I'm not as optimistic.
In theory, you're correct.
In practice, we have judges telling defendants that certain amendments don't exist in their courtroom.
Yeah one day that judge could get over turned and get reprimanded (lol) but each year we have reasonable judges retiring and commie judges taking their place.
Every day that passes without a purge, the long march proceeds. Can we say it hasn't reached the head? The spine? The heart?
Didn't the 9th Circuit just decide that felons can have guns?
Yes, that case was decided earlier this month, but it was a panel decision, meaning the government will appeal to an en banc hearing and the 9th will likely reverse, as has been their pattern. Then it's on to a SCOTUS appeal.
There's some other cases to watch that I think are more applicable to the specific circumstance here though: US v. Daniels, where the 5th decided last August that the provision of the law that says if you're a user of unlawful drugs you cannot own a firearm is unconstitutional. Daniels who's facing the same exact gun charge as in this case.
This is consistent with US v. Harrison a February case where an Oklahoma district court came to the same conclusion. However in August of last year, a district court judge in Iowa did convict somebody for violating the same exact provision in US Code. We're likely headed for a circuit split that will put this issue in front of SCOTUS.
It won't help these fools with the drug charges, but it wouldn't be surprised if by the end of their trials and appeals the gun charge gets dropped as a result of one of these other cases.
Yup. I actually side with Hunter on that one, and hope he goes hard on arguing on 2A grounds. Not only do I support that, but it's hilarious if he says he has a completely inalienable right to guns, while his daddy is trying to take all ours. I don't care if he gets off on breaking established law...if it sets precedent that that law is bullshit.
Hunter is getting upper tier service, no fucking way will he be permitted to contest for 2A in the court of law.
They will settle him quietly well before the 2A is questioned. "Rules for thee, but not for me" style.
He's been engaging in extreme sexual degeneracy (his buddy's wife was arrested with him, his own wife was an hour later), extreme alcoholism and now confirmed drug use while he had 5 homeschooled children. AKA they were always around and there for all of it.
There is no "poor Nick" here. He ruined his and another family's entire life so he could larp as a hedonist and get freaky sex while high as shit.
Probably crashed his sports car again.
I guess I missed that bit of drama. I enjoy his content on occasional, but don't keep up with all the minutia.
What kind of car did he crash, and what were the circumstances?
Buys the highest trim of Mustang, a GT with like 600 hp.
Drives it off the lot with the OEM summer tires on it. In the middle of Minnesota winter.
Launches the car into the ditch, almost certainly because the rear end kicked out at escape velocity.
as a mustang guy, I am going to note that it was a GT500 with 760 hp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n-MyMth84o
Thanks, knew I got that wrong lol
Unless I missed something, he "crashed" his fancy sports car the day he bought it due to icy conditions on the roads and had to get it towed, but without damage.
Don't studded tires exist in the USA? He lives in Minnesota, the winters are pretty bad there.
Having experienced a rental car without studded tires (just winter season tires) here in Sweden I can tell you that I will never drive in the winter without studded tires, it's absolute night and day difference.
As the owner of a lowly 1995 Mustang GT and as someone who's done a fair amount of driving with studded snow tires on front- or all-wheel-drive vehicles ...
No amount of studs would help a rear wheel drive Mustang. If I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing, it will easily peel out on sidewalk paint.
That really just depends on the age of the car, plenty more modern high power cars have anti skid systems that will prevent you from losing control, especially in wet and icy conditions.
I just watched Bearing's video about this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuS1Fb5Qwow
It seems really bad. He's clearly incoherent rambling drunk, but also wired like he's on stimulants. People are saying at one point in the stream he left and came back with white powder under his nose - I have not seen a clip of this yet, but I did see a bit where he leaned off camera to consume something while a woman's voice told him to stop and it seemed like drug use was likely here. This woman is alleged to be some ex-friend's ex-wife who now is his live-in concubine of some kind (she was also arrested with them). Later in the stream he either masturbates or receives oral sex from this woman. It's full degen spiral.
I checked out his stream a few months ago and left because it was boring and disorganized, I figured he had just gotten lazy but holy shit. Even since then, just a few months ago, he looks like he's aged 10 years. There's no way it's just booze and provigil, there's gotta be meth or coke invoved.
The Balldo: Not. Even. Once.
he’s a swinger too!?
I really misjudged him.
Obviously he was an alcoholic. But seemed to have it under control when I last watched him
How’d they get arrested? Investigation? Raid? Car stop?
Not public yet.
The theory is that the ex-husband, Aaron Imholte (fellow YT broadcaster) of the coked up swinger that was arrested with Nick and his wife and has been rumored to be living at Nick's house, April Imholte, ratted everyone out.
Aaron and April were partying at Nick's house as recent as January. They are a former husband and wife doing a YT morning zoo style radio show called Steel Toe Morning Show. They livestreamed themselves drinking in Nick's hottub in January with Nick and Kayla back in January when Nick was supposed to be doing "Sober January".
Anyways, about a month ago, Aaron announced that his wife and cohost would be leaving his YT show permanently, though he was continuing the show.
Then, a few weeks ago, he announced him and April were getting divorced. It was rumored that April was living permanently with the Rekietas.
Aaron has a big mouth and can't help himself. He's started letting stuff leak about his time hanging out with Nick, how they are no longer friends, how the drunk swingers hot tub stream was a bad idea, how he'll tell more at a later date but his lawyer won't let him now, etc.
So today, Aaron goes on Kevin Brennan's podcast after Nick gets arrested. Says he has been in contact with his ex-wife's parents within the last 24 hours, telling him how bad things are & how "they have to get her out of that house". Says Nick and Kayla are idiots for not clearing the house of drugs over the last 3 days after Nick streamed with coke residue visible on his nose Monday.
Aaron also tried to run interference, claiming Thursday on air that it was those evil Kiwifarm alogs that called the cops.
TL; DR - Working theory is that Nick's former swinging buddy and fellow YouTuber was bitter that the Rekietas broke up his marriage and harbored his ex-wife, so he manipulated his ex-wife's parents into getting local police involved for a wellness check, getting the 3 arrested in the process.
Really? But it sounds like nothing could go wrong!
While I agree with your caution in general, it sounds more like Rekieta’s problems are self-manufactured by hedonistic vices than by anything that would make it a cautionary anti-doxxing tale.
Nah. This is just way too perfect. I'm doubting this ridiculous story until more information comes out.
If you build your identity on a foundation of sin, rather than Christ...
He's crashing
He’s been crashing for the last two years, he’s tunneling to China at this rate.
Probably tunneling under NYC given his heritage
Time for his 47th 2hr long video about how "Vic's gonna win" and all his haters have been... checks notes... "BTFO"?
The Vic lawsuit failure is so far in the rearview mirror of embarrassments that Nick stopped acknowledging the case and Ty Beard's fuckups years ago and now pretends the whole thing didn't happen.
Only Nick's OG fans bring it up anymore (I'm not one, I'm a Rittenhouse normie).
Boy, that guy really fell apart.
His Locals Chat is saying there was a provigil pill under his seat or some shit but damn does she look like a addict so doubt that was only thing.
His Locals Chat is full of retarded ball washers.
That is putting it lightly for those spergs, very much coping and seething going on in there over it.
Been hearing something wrong with him in the background for a while now, was there something that set it off as this seems close to a mental break that led to the drugs, booze and swinging than anything.
No one really knows, but there's endless speculation.
Two years ago in Spring 2022 while the Johnny Depp trial wrapped and Nick was on top of the world with dump trucks full of money, he came on stream one night and vagueposted about the "worst day of his life" that just happened and was all shook up.
Tons of speculation what it could be (infidelity with his wife, personal health diagnosis, getting kicked out of his church, being disowned by his rich family, being cut out of his family's inheritance of millions of oil money, cutting ties with his in-laws, sick kid, etc).
At the time, he made some generic statement about "All my life, I've lived according to what others wanted me to be. But I'm finally free and never have to live for anyone else ever again".
He later went to the Jamaican swingers resort Hedonism II that summer with his wife, started getting a lot more sexual in his chat and on his streams that fall. And telling any of his longtime fans to fuck off when they complained about his new direction.
Can't tell if socipathic/psycopathic mental breakdown or denial of Christ. But very, very telling, and I've heard words almost identical from several people right before they self-destructed.
I haven't watched Rackets in a long time, seeing some choice clips online and they do not look good. It's hard to look some of that stuff and NOT think something isn't up, but as with Fentanyl Floyd, it's easy to let a video take control of your brain.
But something didn't sit right with me: https://archive.is/HbI8h#selection-1309.0-1313.146
Aside from the extra charges not seen in the picture, a search warrant? "Curiouser and curiouser"
SJWs finally have his scalp, and that's regrettable because if I were still a gambler, I'd bet they dropped some anonymous tips on the police to get exactly this to happen.
Some talk from some of his former guests/associates like Legal Mindset and Dragon's Hoard seem to suggest people close to him have known he's had problems for a while, so I'm not going to suggest otherwise. But I'd really love to know where that warrant came from.
* Edit: More reading of the thread, u/Benevolentdictator take sounds perhaps more likely, an insider take on what's going on in the house would definitely encourage police action.
The Fox News article provides some new information, such as the police finding ketamine in the house and an AR with loose ammunition under the bed.
The article also doesn't identify who "the girl" was at the door who denied police entry, forcing them to break in.
If "girl" is being colloquially, it could be April Imholte, 29, who was arrested on scene.
Nick's children range from ages 6-16 AFAIK. I can't remember the exact sex breakdown, but his two oldest kids are male (they were facedoxed recently on a livestream of their church confirmation that Nick attended and was complaining about on stream that he had to attend). So presumably the adults could've been indisposed and the police were communicating with one of Nick's elementary school age daughters through the locked door.
From the Fox News report, it suggests Nick was either not home or incapacitated at the time of police's initial arrival.
Another Kiwifarms rumor today was that Aaron Imholte, the angry ex-husband, may have purposefully told his therapist about the Rekieta's open drug use in their home, forcing the therapist to act as the mandatory reporter re: child endangerment.
Apparently Aaron also mentioned on stream of late that he's confided in his therapist about his ex-wife April's drug use around his own children and others.
I first heard of him because of Vic Mignogna.
God, I hope it's not true.
Everything regarding lawyers and law-tubers in Vic's case has been a huge fucking grift. I now have to wonder if any of them actually cared.
I haven't followed Rekieta since Kyle. Kinda sad seeing what happened after.
If it's not too much to ask can you explain this Vic stuff. I've seen it mentioned around, but have no idea what the criticism is.
All I know is that Nick got his friend Ty Beard hired with the GoFundMe money for Vic. Ty is indeed bearded and is kind of a Texas meme that unfortunately never played out in reality. He doesn't actually have experience with defamation law and came to court unprepared to contest the anti-SLAPP motion. The (possibly lib) judge ruled against them and that kind of sunk Vic's case. I'm probably missing a lot of details, but those are the broad strokes.
What makes this worse is he was holding weekly livestreams with Nick where they would use "Ty just lost the case again" as a punchline, because randos were saying that on Twitter, then he goes and actually loses the case.
The other tidbit that came out over time was that Ty Beard was actually Nick's mother's family lawyer managing the family trust money from the tens of millions of his grandfather's Texas oil wealth.
Nick hid the fact that he was a wealthy trust fund baby from his fans for years (and still doesn't acknowledge it explicitly), instead portraying himself as a working class, hardworking, God-fearing midwestern family man who grew up with financial troubles just like everyone else.
So Nick, being a lawyer himself at the time, recommended Vic hire his family's probate lawyer with zero expertise in defamation and without acknowledging how he knew Ty or his family's ties.
Then years later when things went to shit and Vic lost the case and hundreds of k in legal costs because of Ty's fuckups, Rekieta boldfaced lied in public that he didn't know Ty personally and never officially made the referral, despite his family's ties and streaming and grifting for years with Ty specifically off Vic's situation.
He claimed that he never knew Ty and doesn't know him currently? Really?
Nick went into total lying weasel denial mode after Vic & Ty lost their final appeal because of a clerical filing blunder by Beard's office.
He pretended to have never Beard/had no personal relationship with Beard prior to Mignogna hiring him as counsel despite there being livestream evidence with Beard on stream as evidence to the contrary.
He also tried to retcon his recommendation to Vic to hire Beard as his counsel after the disastrous result. He tried to pretend he simply made a suggestion in passing instead of a personal referral/recommendation and that hiring of Ty's office was completely of Vic's own choosing.
I'm sure there's clips of Nick washing his hands on the whole thing after the disastrous ruling on KF and clip channels, but it's so hard to search the backcatalog of Nick lore.
It's very similar to Nick trying to gaslight his old fans that "Rekieta Law was never a law channel" 18 months ago whenever he was challenged why he stopped covering trials or serious legal happenings. Instead pretending his content had never changed when it slipped in to getting sloppy drunk nightly while blabbering on about sex toys and thinly veiled homosexual innuendo.
Edit: The clips I went back and watched weren't as egregious/explicit as I remembered.

https://kiwifarms.net/threads/nicholas-robert-rekieta-rekieta-law-nickrekieta.53871/post-14689553
Nevertheless, the point stands that Nick acted as a slimy, unaccountable weasel when the Vic case went bad.
Instead of acknowledging his role in personally profiting off Vic's misfortune and personally recommending an incompetent and unqualified attorney (while being disingenuous about his own family wealth and personal connections behind the referral), Nick gaslit after it was all said and done that "I hardly knew the man" and that "Vic made his own choices, I wasn't his lawyer".
not to be that guy, but I said this years ago and everybody in places like KIA2 were falling all over themselves to defend Rekieta.
Who is this?
YouTube lawyer who got really big for a time covering the Vic Mignogna Funanimation defamation suit and later Kyle Rittenhouse and Johnny Depp livestreams in 2021/2022.
Yeah. This is so far out of left field I'm just gonna wait it out. Anything that piles up just in front of the election just gets filed under the "that sounds like total bullshit" section until further information comes out. Isn't it funny how so much of these scandals just pop up out of nowhere every four years, and how basically ALL of the scandals come from the right. I'm going back to work and I hope that guy is doing ok.
The thing is though, this just didn’t pop up out of nowhere. Anyone keeping tabs on Rackets over the last year or two has witnessed his (not so) slow descent into narcissistic degeneracy, drug abuse and alcoholism. People like Josh Moon and Andrew from Legal Mindset have been telling him to “pull up” for a long time and he ignored all of them. Also, the guy has five kids and he was obviously driving them around drunk and on drugs. That’s why he got pinched, a mandatory reporter called in a case of possible child neglect. Honestly, fuck Rekieta; he’s reaping what he’s sown.
