My coworker brought up the Rittenhouse trial and we had a somewhat civil discussion and I managed to get some insight on the left's perspective which isn't great.

He believes that it's necessary to burn down blocks and destroy property to achieve reform. In his eyes, people like Kyle should mind their own business and stay in their homes because they have no right to interfere.

Coworker also said that if someone believes Kyle was right then he should grab a gun from his car and shoot the person that disagreed. He genuinely believes that Kyle is an enemy and that the left is at war with people like me and you

This what happens when you lose a culture war. When you lose a culture war, violence and genocide is next.

I’ve had similar conversations. I’m honestly surprised how they have no sympathy for peoples buildings being destroyed

Those that don’t own anything don’t care about other people’s property.

Some students accumulated so many points early on that by the end of the term they knew they didn’t need to do more work and could still get an A. Others — often those who had to work or care for family members after school — would fail to turn in their homework and fall so far behind that they would just stop trying

The article is from Los Angeles and San Diego where they are more illegal and than citizen and he's an English teacher. Good luck getting non-native speakers to become miraculous English writers on their second year living in the States.

Perhaps a border fence should be built South of the border with a force patrolling it keeping down the number of illegals that can't speak or write English with limited skills to offer to the US, so we could focus on educating our children and not El Salvador's children? Perhaps those funds could be funneled to US citizens and legal immigrants to better our nation?

The word you are looking for is indoctrinated. An education would lead to them thinking.

Police didn't stand down. They didn't rush in like fools. They let Kyle do that!

I'm not calling Kyle a fool btw, he's a hero.

16
NuclearPoweredChevy [S] 16 points ago +16 / -0

They didn't rush in like fools. They let Kyle do that!

I think Kyle and his group should have received better training on how to stick together before being sent to protect the gas station. He got separated from his group and that’s when things went downhill fast. I get Kyle wanted to be active but wandering off alone made him a vulnerable target.

Regardless, he was totally in the right to shoot all of his attackers.

6
Benevolentdictator 6 points ago +6 / -0

I watched a lot of the trial this week.

I'm fairly certain Kyle was with a group protecting a garage/dealership.

There was another group guarding the gas station that he interacted with, but only after he got separated from his patrol mate.

They have been brainwashed by commies. Commies destroy the existing order before they build their utopia.

4
Hypercensortive 4 points ago +4 / -0

They feel they have little/nothing of their own to lose. In some cases, legitimately so (massive student debts and poor job prospects), and others blissfully unaware of their middle-class privileged upbringings. And then they've been radicalised by social media (and sometimes mainstream media) just as much as anybody on the alt/far right.

They never have any idea of what comes next, once they've burned capitalism to the ground, though. They can't all be the ruling class of their communist utopia, and they're clearly not prepared to work in the fields or the mines. What will be left? - tens of millions dead, most of our technology gone, a smoldering dystopia run by progressive stack? (Probably still run by straight white males too, just ones that identify as trans/woman/lesbian?)

44
Unknownsailor 44 points ago +44 / -0

Coworker also said that if someone believes Kyle was right then he should grab a gun from his car and shoot the person that disagreed.

I am one of the people who thinks Kyle was right, and if that shit head wants to shoot at me, I'm going to shoot back, and he is not going to fucking enjoy the experience, because I know how to shoot.

I dont think that person truly understands the depth of the rabbit hole they will jump into if they decide to start slinging lead.

49
throwawayicanremembe 49 points ago +49 / -0

Property costs time. Time is life. Destroy property = destroy life.

16
MagnumLife 16 points ago +16 / -0

This guy gets it.

27
Unknownsailor 27 points ago +27 / -0

Property represents time spent working to earn the money to pay for it. Time is a limited non renewable resource for all of us. Therefore, destruction of property can be considered theft of the amount of time a person had to work in order to afford said property.

I had thousands of dollars of stuff stolen from me during my 20 years in the Navy. Clothing, mostly, but other things. I HATE thieves with a burning passion. I don't give a flying fuck what justification he tells himself, the stuff isn't his, and he has no right to destroy it.

12
BandageBandolier 12 points ago +12 / -0

Destroying something a man worked 20 years to build up is little different than retroactively putting him in prison for 20 years. You might not even serve 20 years for murder, if he does the crime I say let him have it as time already served.

5
evilmathmagician 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think you could pull up an interesting discussion with him over property rights (without risking your security).

For instance, one could consider their own body as their primary property. Or they could take ownership of their destiny and choices. There's a bunch of angles, and you might learn some surprising things about this person.

If you're clever about this, you might trick him into seeing another point of view.

4

That's been what leftists are all about for a long time - let me do what I want and destroy what I don't like and get no repercussion.

The only thing America needs to do is secede. At this point, there's no winning the culture war. People thinking after this trial, things will be better are joking themselves.

35
Hogbutcher 35 points ago +37 / -2

Time to go Animal Farm on the left. Secession is for babies and daydreamers. I fucking want it all, from sea to shining sea. They can have the sea. Or eat lead, their choice.

7
Piroko 7 points ago +14 / -7

I fucking want it all

Well, that's not a realistic option.

Nullification leading to partition is the normal end of empires.

17
Hogbutcher 17 points ago +18 / -1

Deus Vult? Thy will be done. I enjoy a downhill ride. There isn’t enough space as it is, and a return to agrarian culture and economy would be an overall improvement. If its going to burn down regardless, then buy matches. Their kind wont be welcome there, or needed or even capable of contributing to the reconstruction.

-5
Piroko -5 points ago +6 / -11

That's not going to happen.

Do you know what the reality of "agrarian culture and economy" looks like today?

It's a neo-baron sitting fifteen feet in the air on a bigass harvester that weighs as much as a locomotive and costs about a million dollars. It drives itself and he's just there to sip coffee and listen to the talk radio, and push the brake if a deer gets in the way (or maybe not; corn heads can handle ingesting smallish animals).

Hundred years ago a farmstead was measured in acres. Nowadays it's in square miles. Typical farmer today can work a knight's fee worth of land with just a couple helpers with CDL's to drive the grain trucks.

I know there are whole TOWNSHIPS worth of land (essentially, baronies) under single ownership out in Nebraska. At that scale, it isn't even about the grain, they're usually feeding pigs or chickens.

19
Hogbutcher 19 points ago +20 / -1

I do, I was raised in it. Corporate farming will surely cease in a collapse scenario. Without a means of distribution or consumption at scale to support infrastructure they would be among the first to go. Not to mention so easily overthrown in a violent uprising. High production monocropping is of no value in an actual agrarian society. I would expect fallow fields for a few years, followed by a cooperative structure to steward the abandoned properties, subdivided back into thriving family farms by the 5 year mark.

-1
Piroko -1 points ago +6 / -7

You won't get a disruption of that magnitude without either a meteorite hit or a yellowstone eruption.

14
Hogbutcher 14 points ago +15 / -1

Yellowstone will never erupt. Its a pyroclastic impossibility. A modern civil war involving hundreds of millions of humans is infinitely more likely.

10
ApexVeritas 10 points ago +11 / -1

You're not thinking big enough. If it actually came to war or societal collapse, it would be the cities (the uniparty globalist left) versus everyone else. Cities are quite easy to cut off and starve. Shut down transportation and trucking, and the left will starve and collapse in a matter of weeks. The uniparty doesn't have enough forces to control the cities and fight a war. Once the demand is gone, and transportation into cities is gone, there will be much less demand for factory farming.

Furthermore, once the censorship is lifted, the magnitude and number of evils committed against us will become apparent, and most people will realize how bad factory farming is. Glyphosate, and other herbicides and pesticides, sprayed on damn near everything, which ends up in our foods and is killing us. It's also killing off the bee population. Animals cramped together and often don't see sunlight, eating unnatural grain diets, being injected with hormones and antibiotics to keep them alive, which all negatively affects their meat, eggs, milk, and fats, and is also killing us. Growing soy and other trash GMO crops, purely from government subsidies, which is also hurting us.

Factory farming is propped up purely based on government funding and censorship of the negative aspects of it. Living as naturally as we can, as close as we can in accordance with nature is almost universally the best route.

2
Hand_Of_Node 2 points ago +2 / -0

A good sized CME, like we may get this cycle, would do it. Big enough, and both electronics and electricity are historical.

We don't have many factories that can operate without electricity, so it would be "a while" before replacement parts would be produced. Wire itself could be destroyed in a big one. Meanwhile, most 'food comes from stores' people are starving to death.

14
almond_activator 14 points ago +14 / -0

That's the optimistic position. The realistic one is to make Rwanda look like an afternoon in the park, because there's no way to split, and even if there were, they'll never let us leave.

7
Piroko 7 points ago +8 / -1

I think people who think like you do get too hung up on the performative, de jure aspects of governance, rather than focusing on the de facto reality on the ground.

You haven't spent enough time out in the corn.

The previous nullification battle was marijuana. It is now the case that, in many states, the federal government has been shown to be completely toothless. The laws are still on the books, but you can go buy an ounce openly, on a credit card even.

The next hurdle will be firearms. I believe in the next ten years the reality on the ground will diverge radically from BATF rules. In 2040, there will be states where you'll be able to procure suppressors, SBRs, and open bolt full autos openly. The laws will still be on the books, but local law enforcement cooperation will be zero in the red states.

Assuming Washington hasn't already given up the ghost at that point and admitted that the country as a whole has become ungovernable.

7
almond_activator 7 points ago +7 / -0

You've not been paying close attention, then. The credit card companies' resistance to weed was practical, not ideological. Once the law had been sufficiently ignored, they cashed in.

Firearms and ammunition, legal to purchase and own, are being actively blocked by credit card companies. They're actively attempting to make firearms de facto illegal, even if de jure they're still legal.

They are not and will not be allies.

A lawless society is dangerous and we need laws to remain civilized. The GOP can aid this battle. Remember to volunteer and vote for your local Republican candidate.

3
MargarineMongoose 3 points ago +3 / -0

It may not be a realistic end goal but it is the correct sentiment to hold. This is yet our country, it's worth fighting for and immediately capitulating to a stance of compromise will prevent the gathering of strength needed to even stake out a position from which a compromise can be brokered, rather than simply being obliterated.

2

If things were to play out such that there was a war I'd love to say I'd enlist on the Constitutionalist side to fight against the communists, but man after I join I'd worry about what parts end up splitting which way because the side with the funding and ability to make or get more equipment will have a serious advantage.

The South actually has the potential to be a modern industrial powerhouse. We have several battery factories, car factories, mines, farms, and universities so it's not like California will have a monopoly.

Edit: Also Space X and NASA which means world leading rocket technology in the private sector.

I too wondered why this topic became a "political" football or why leftists would care. What you describe matches what I've seen from the more leftist literal-antifa types. Those who work in media know exactly what they're doing and think it's fine being deceptive to further their cause. I still can't quite grasp their logic and have to conclude it's an evil mentality. It's unclear how their actions help them achieve their goals even if you try to assume their point of view, unless there's a subtextual goal of chaos leading to a new world order.

More normie/centrist liberals just don't know the facts. For example they think he was a white supremacist shooting at black people. (not that it would matter, but their programming tells them that that's worse) They are shocked when they learn the truth.

7
fauxgnaws 7 points ago +7 / -0

I believe the central theme to all of this liberal madness is idolizing failure.

The problem with modern technosociety is that every day you see people who are the top 0.1% in their field. Any field. Oh you think you're pretty good at knitting? Well look at this youtube channel where they knit a 10' working suspension bridge for their 100 lb dog out of yarn.

These people believe they are failures because they value being skilled rather than family or religion or being moral, and they'll never be anywhere near the best so they're identifying with failure. That guy who drank too much, passed out in the drive-through, attacked the cop, took his weapon and pointed it at him... that could be me!

Raised as center-left, I was in the very top of my field winning competitions and such so I never felt like or identified with failure, but I'm sure this is what's going on. For example, my 130 IQ far-left brother who never mastered a skill even though he absolutely could have sends out memes like 'if you can't recognize the T-Cell in this picture just trust the science' because he believes he's a failure and can't read science and decide for himself. Why would I have to recognize a T-Cell to understand what role it plays? It's fucking dumb.

This is why I never believed that the left's real objection was to 'mean tweets'. I think what really triggered them was "we're going to win again" because they don't believe that includes them.

donaldthrow 16 points ago +16 / -0

Should have asked him why he didn't burn down his own house, or your workplace.

11
spezpedobestfriend 11 points ago +12 / -1

It depends on your viewpoint of "lose the culture war".

Disney has paid dearly for going intersectional and has cancelled all of KKKenedy's projects (she's done). Fiege is getting fucked up the pooper for his new MCU movies and being denied putting in the actual avengers to be nerfed (the excuse is lawsuits, in reality they aren't going to let him destroy their IP like KKKenedy did).

Comic books have the lowest sales in the last 50 years and have little to no influence now.

We have parents fighting tooth and nail to keep CRT out of the schools and are winning.

We have Hispanics waking the fuck up that a bunch of rich white leftists want their sons to cut their dicks off and to allow unlimited immigration from south of the border putting their own lives at risk (look at Texas border counties (Biden won by 17% compared to Hillary's 33% - Hispanics are waking up).

Globalists have sucked so much CCP cock that they can't hide their past. The CCP is going to invade Taiwan before Grampa Poopy Pants leaves office, this is literally the only time they can invade Taiwan. Once the CCP goes after Taiwan, the press will be used as a weapon against the CCP and people who support them and the CCP loses all its propaganda in the US.

I take more of a fighter stance and evangelize whenever I can. When I hear leftist propaganda come out of people, I always give them the actual event or idea as a counter. I've caused physical pain for a couple of friends just giving them a direct link from left wing sources like CNN or MSNBC countering their narrative on those cases when they aren't lying.

11
PatriotPartyRising 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yet no one here can be bothered to protest or make a phone call, send a letter or really do anything. No matter how far the left goes our side does nothing. Just continue in the absurd "but just you wait we got all the guns" and "we'll win in the civil war" nonsense. As if nothing can be done between now and then so we don't have to end up in a civil war. Until we grow a spine we will continue to lose to soyboys (yes the ones who actually protest and get things done)

-14
lord8chinchinchan -14 points ago +3 / -17

Yeah, you wanna know WHY the right does nothing?

Because the left is invincible. The right knows that the left is unbeatable. That's why they don't do shit. BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DO SHIT WITHOUT GETTING OBLITERATED AND LOSING ANYWAYS LMAO

The left is armed to the teeth. They have nukes and drones. No amount of guns can stand up to that.

If the right actually fought back, the left would just immediately rain down fire and fury and obliterate the right. The right would all get turned into goo by the left's drone strikes.

The right would need nukes to compete. They don't. So they're fucked.

The right's peashooter guns can't stand up to the left's nuclear weapons.

13
JuanTitor 13 points ago +13 / -0

I know you're just trolling, but you also are very ignorant on some areas that aren't trolling.

No one uses nukes in a civil war, no one uses them in a genocide. China isn't nuking the Uyghur, not because they care about what the world thinks, but because they want to use their land, wouldn't want the fallout, and like free labor. They don't want to bomb it either, for similar reasons.

Moreover, US pilots wouldn't bomb suburban neighborhoods, even if ordered by the clowns in charge now, and antifa members can't hold down a part time job, let alone learn to pilot a jet. They would need foriegn forces to bomb the US. Still, even with jets and bombs, there is no guarantee; somehow the Taliban won the war of attrition against such things using AK's and goats.

Moreover, any attack on Middle America triggers a famine for the world. Almost everyone loses.. That is a goal of the globalist leaders: they want the plebs like you and I to starve.

There will be such times, of widespread famine, and plague, and war, but it will essentially all happen at once; the Bible predicted it 1900 years ago. There will be a globalist government, forcing a social credit system on the world, and there will be population reduction as long planned by Rothschilds and Rockefellers. But there will also be massive earthquakes, and unexplainable signs, and pain and death like never before, and the fools who think they rule this Earth will be plunged into despair, because their master the Devil is not as strong as they believe.

No one has stopped them until this point so in their eyes he's in the wrong. Same as if you fed a kid candy bars for dinner every night then his new stepmom tries to get him to eat healthy and he explodes.

This is the same reason women start going batshit around 30.

-11
lord8chinchinchan -11 points ago +2 / -13

No one CAN stop them. They can easily just drone-strike anyone that tries to fight them.

4
M1919A2 4 points ago +4 / -0

Drone strike only work when the operators are 5000 miles away from their targets. When that person you just struck has friends or families that might be 50 miles away or hell, even 5 miles away that can retaliate against you and your family it changes the equation.

If you want a read on how this plays out read Unintended Consequences by John Ross. I watched the second half of that book play out in real life in the later half of the 2000's in Iraq.

if someone believes Kyle was right then he should grab a gun from his car and shoot the person that disagreed.

You coworker just told you that you should kill him if you don't want to go to the gulag after the revolution.

8
TrashWolf 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yup. Had a similar conversation with a good friend, who is a veteran mind you, after sending our group text a meme of Kyle on the stand. It was like "you recounting shooting 3 people with the boys vs you recounting shooting 3 people on the stand" implying Kyle was fake crying on the stand.
I asked him if he was comfortable clowning on a kid clearly experiencing PTSD and remarked how the last time I saw hyperventilating like that was... Well, him. With his own PTSD.
We feigned a cordial conversation for a bit but it quickly got down to his actual beliefs when I mentioned the rioters were starting fires and raging at people all night. And he responded "they were too."
The left believes there's actually two sides out there battling it out which is just another continuation of their most used tactic. Even if you follow their rules, they will still come for you.

7
redguards_are_nwahs 7 points ago +7 / -0

Coworker also said that if someone believes Kyle was right then he should grab a gun from his car and shoot the person that disagreed.

I see the civility ended right there.

Do you train in a martial art? Do you own a knife? Guns are equalizers, but you might find yourself in a situation where a gun is not available and needing to kill to survive.

This person thinks an opinion with which he disagrees is worthy of a lethal response. Remember that.

That must have been a confusing conversation.

Believing all the stupid would stay in university departments and we could just snooze away with our homes and families and sportsball and project cars in the garage is going to turn out to be the last, most critical mistake that conservative America ever made. We yielded the culture instead of fighting. Culture sits upstream of all things, all institutions, all corporations, all courts, all media. When you lose the culture, you lose it all, because in a hostile culture nobody cares if you are exterminated.

Conservatives do not have the weaponry and firepower to stand up to the left. So it wouldn't matter if they suddenly grew the balls. Because their guns are no match for the left's military weapons.

You actually try to fight the left, they will unleash an extreme firestorm at you. Expect to get drone-striked if you actually dare grow the nerve to take them on.

You'll need nuclear weapons to take them on.

Or just don’t use conventional warfare against an enemy with superior technology and weapons,

You are thinking in terms of conventional war, while wars of today are special wars: propaganda war, cyberwar, economic war, demographic war... all rolled into one.

The Afghans thought the Americans were in the country to fight dragons in the mountains.

All that shit lost to that
