Some idiots who are wrong, think that having the ability to save the game is somehow bad, because it lowers the stakes and gives the player too much power. This is idiotic. If you don't like it, don't use it. Simple as. Don't deny ME the ability to play the game the way I want to play it because you can't control yourself. That's like banning all alcohol in society because YOU are an alcoholic who can't control yourself. You're imposing on me and violating my freedoms and forcing me to play the game YOUR way. To expand: it is actually the developers’ responsibility to craft and balance their video games - not mine.
I agree with him for the vast majority of games. Yes not all games need save states. If the game is designed around a specific save system, that can often work better. For example I like the stress of saving in Alien Isolation. Most devs idea of "balance" is just "This is it too easy, here's an artificial constraint." In other cases, you can tell that the "design" is an iteration on an older concept that got popular so they simply retain without much thought. Sort of like how console games kept aspects from arcade games for a long time even though they were no longer in the arcade.
Anyway QuickSave/QuickLoad is my jam and my idea of fun games will revolve around those that include it. If you prefer slogging it to a save point that's ok too.

...Or it's an excuse from Fatshark because the game is a hot mess in terms of coding, storyline, execution, launch, customizability, and gameplay, so it probably has issues in graphics, too, but if they claim "wokeness" then they're immune to criticism.
By the time of 40k, everyone is so eugenically bred that every dude is over 6 foot tall and looks like Giga-Chad, and every woman is something like 5'10 or taller and looks like a supermodel.

The Warhammer civilization is vastly larger in scale to ours and has a wide range of settings to choose from. W4K wiki says "the Imperium of Man consists of over one million inhabited worlds". Many of them are "forgotten" planets and Feudal Worlds that are protected from war and Chaos. In this particular game's story and setting (a prison ship), all women looking like dirty meth-addled mutants might make sense, but that's not an absolute truth for 40k.

There are some hotties in the offical 2D artwork, but but the 40 year old stern matron look is present all throughout 3rd edition (which largely solidified the 40k aesthetic) rulebooks
They've got that 50 yard stare down to a T. So if the idea is you're plucked from the war to now deal with whatever Darktide is asking of you, then yeah, it fits. Daily life and death struggles break you as a person. So you're not going to look pretty even if you were, before war took that from you.
But I think the problem is they didn't make female shaped bodies, and it's screwing with their character creator's overall body shape. You have bone shapes for males in the head and neck. It also looks like there is a connective bone issue in the model around the collar. No one's neck is shaped like a triangle that starts at the chin and ends at the shoulder unless they're missing connective bones around the collar bone like a cat. You can't droop your shoulders into that shape unless you're missing a bone.
I'll give them that infantry guard armor is likely heavy and cumbersome until your body gets used to it, but it wouldn't cause a physiological change like that, so it's probably just a skeletal bone issue in the model.
And if I'm right about it being an issue with the model, knowing how Fat Shark fixes things in their games, this will get fixed about 15 minutes before Darktide 2 launches, if at all.
Kinda on point, the mini figs sometimes do end up a bit fucked up anyways, and even GW official art has had some less than stellar portrayals of even Emps and Sanguinius.
