I admit I'm totally clueless as to what's in it because my instinct is that Elon is right and its full of garbage but who knows. There are a few right- wing people on X attacking Elon over it, but it could just be from not liking the guy or just generic GOP bootlicking. Thoughts?

It's beautiful. Stephen Miller made some good points though. Elon doesn't know how gov works. He's just frustrated that it doesn't work.
It shouldnt be allowed to work
Creation of BuSab when?
The only argument I’ve seen from the right on spending is more Keynesian “we need to spend more to dig ourselves out of debt”.
The best argument for spending on the right is that the government is going to spend regardless so you might as well get your important stuff in the process. If conservatives have to force austerity every time they win an election, then they’re always going to be losing power to leftists promising infinity gibs.
The argument I've heard that I find most convincing over the current bill is that it funds deportations.
I don't care if I already have $100k in credit card debt that I can never pay off. If my roof is about to collapse, I'll put another $30k on it to keep my goddamn house from falling over. Especially if there's someone willing to lend me that $30k.
And yes, I'm saying that I believe the country will collapse (if it hasn't already, slowly) if the illegals are allowed to stay.
I can see both sides: one (uni)party spends a shitload of money making a mess and leaves nothing in the treasury, and the other side has to borrow even more money to clean up the mess. It's a fucking vicious cycle.
You literally just reiterated the Keynesian position on government spending… “we have to spend the money or x will happen”, “if we don’t spend money how are we supposed to solve x”, “we need to spend more money to keep x voters”. These are all emotional arguments that stem from a failed economic policy that created the largest debt seen in human history. Republicans are elected with reducing government spending being in the top 3 reasons every time, and every time they increase the budget and spew one of those exact lines while our debt grows.
This is why MAGA and republicans are a joke at best. How about conservatives stand for getting rid of the predatory fed system entirely that endlessly consumes our entire currency and makes it impossible for anyone to save or build? They don't because every single on of them is in congress at the bankers' behest.
Elon is in Anger. Trump is in Bargaining.
The stages of grief for a republic already lost.
Going along with this analogy for a second: Who is Denial in this instance, and who will be Despair/Depression and Acceptance?
I claim the Boomers (actual Boomers) to be the Denial stage. Between advice on saving money, working, and dating their advice is generally completely out of date and barely applicable in the modern world. Trying to get them to understand that their worldview has resulted in so much suffering and degradation of their homes and their family's futures is a nightmare.
Next I think the Black-pillers and Doomers are Depression. Everything is fucked, we're all screwed, "vote harder lol" spoken in pithy condescension, they know there is a ton wrong with the world but they're overwhelmed by the scale of it and so don't know what else to do but laugh at the people trying to stem the tide.
Lastly, I kind of want to separate Accelerationists out from Doomers and place them in the Acceptance category. They've moved past the stage of "nothing can be done, just face it" to "if it gets bad enough, there will be enough people awakened to the problems to do something about them." A sort of rallying will occur. They might also be some of the "surf the Kali Yuga" types or the ones that say 'abandon the country and go someplace more stable in SE Asia where first world money goes very far.' It's hard to define Acceptance in a way that isn't 'giving up' on the nation entirely.

As far as personalities on the right? I can see Tom Homan sitting in a leather chair in a dark room, swirling brandy, in despair from all the federal injunctions keeping him from kicking ass. And Scott Adams is easily in acceptance but that's more about his poor vax decision than the country.
I want to say Q is in denial, but 1. "he" doesn't exist and 2. that's way too easy.
I've been on record for ten years that I don't think Musk is trustworthy. I don't think you become the world's richest man without being deeply, deeply compromised by the proverbial they.
Could that argument not also be levied against Trump, too?
This is the mistake mainstream right wingers make far too often. They think in terms of false dichotomies, thinking that either one side or the other is true. More than one thing can be true at the same time. For example, Elon can be untrustworthy, while Trump can also be untrustworthy, and this bill can suck, while still having some good things in it.
Could have once upon a time.
The whole nearly having his head blown off on live tv thing clears a lot of doubt however. At least if you ask me.
As far as the bill goes if it secures mass deportations then I don't much care if there's pork in it. Or silly AI provisions or whatever Marjory concerned with.
Immigration is THE deciding issue of our time, period. All else is secondary to whether America can be made American again.
Just because someone is attacked by your enemies, doesn't automatically make them your ally. This is another false dichotomy trap. Keep in mind that our enemies hold every dysgenic anti-virtue imaginable. They're naturally dishonorable, violent, fracturing, greedy, hypocritical, prideful, and liars. People mistakenly think that our enemies are monolithic. They're not. They disagree and war with each other all the time, as they're driven by different motivations and plans.
There is a vast gulf of difference between "attacked by" and a public assassination attempt on live tv. This isn't getting cancelled or a bogus swatting attempt.
That would not have occurred if the man was not a dire and genuine threat to the enemy.
True, but the people in power have zero qualms about killing people who get in the way, no matter how small. In fact, we can see this plan in the open too, as smaller and smaller infractions to the mainstream/curated position is met with increasing hostility. And, they have zero qualms about killing people in general, to the tune of millions.
This was riskier than killing say, Seth Rich.
Killing Trump would very likely have kicked off a hot civil war. And they were willing to risk that.
Trump is at least a native born, lifelong, dedicated American.
Trump is more concerned with Israel and jews than White Americans, the people that built America and are the right's primary and only voting bloc.
Musk is going to claim Ketamine made him do it?

He's a standard issue stateless globalist. The US is just another economic zone to him, he has no problem buying himself his sixth or seventh citizenship and moving on to the next place that will suit his needs.
He sees no problem with a 80% nonwhite America. He thinks he's going to be Emperor of Mars and we're all going to be left behind to rot.
Can’t believe Elon and Trump broke up during Pride month
🏳️🌈
All my lefty friends are telling that joke.
The US congress passes between 4 and 6 million words worth of new legislation every two years. That's 9 to 13 times the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, in extremely dense and unreadable prose, every two years, and that's just what's enacted, not what's proposed, and the people voting on it spend a large chunk of the year back in their districts. These people are routinely voting bills into law that they've never even read themselves.
Lobbyists literally write the bills and then tell our elected representatives how to vote. Everything we do to fix our country and our government is basically just window dressing on the Titanic. There’s no way we’re fixing the fundamental problems with this government without some sort of reset.
Its going to get even more fun so grab your popcorn lads.

Today is going to be a hell of a fucking ride gents, strap in.
Obvious bullshit. If it were true, the Dems would have released them day 1. Hell, it would have leaked even before day 1.
Although I will find it funny that when pReddit starts going wild with it and goes back to siding with a LiTeRaL nAzI.
You do get Epstein targeted both sides? There’s plenty of Republicans and Democrats on those flight logs. The dems were pushing Trump being on the Epstein files for forever and pushed articles about Epstein bringing girls to Trump. It could be bullshit, but the fact is that they have not released anything and it will be considered guilt if they don’t now.
Sure. I would expect plenty of Republicans on the list. But Trump just doesn't strike me as a pedo.
You're right, though. If Bondi & Kash actually did what they promised, this would have been a non-issue. Glad to see Trump's shit picks come back to bite him. Maybe this time -- like the 20th time already -- he'll learn (spoiler: he won't).
The good thing is that both Trump Presidencies have shown the future “Chancellor Palpatines” (for lack of a better term) that you can’t operate in the current power structure, the rot goes too deep. You will need to use military force and go full dictatorship to fix this country sadly.
I could at worst see Trump being caught up in a Gaetz like situation, but I doubt there is anything as well.
It's not about who is on the list. It's about who is responsible for creating that list. The blackmailer matters not the blackmailed.
I think it’s bullshit because what would even be the point of collecting that blackmail if you weren’t going to torpedo Trump with it? He’s exactly the rogue counter-elite such blackmail is created to control. In order to believe Trump is in the Epstein files, you also have to believe that with everything Trump has done, and all the chaos he’s created (both intentionally and accidentally), he’s still nothing more than a global elite asset/pied piper.
Which is retarded, of course.
Democrats pretty openly flaunt being on a separate tier of justice. Even without the files, we have open evidence of pedophilia from both Joe and Hunter Biden and we all know what [didn't] happen.
Are you being serious? Do you know any hardcore Democrats? They just pretend it's not true, if they aren't the type who sympathizes with MAPs in the first place. If the media were to come out and day its true they might have to admit it - But the media are hardcore Democrats.
You're assuming they would need to release everything instead of just cherry picking parts about Trump and just releasing those. Even if people they don't want to expose are implicated on the same page or even the same damn sentence, we've all seen government releases where the entire page is black bars except for a couple words.
This is so retarded.
A: With no proof, no one gives a shit. People who hate Trump already will probably believe it, but they already think he's literally Hitler (and they probably think Musk is also literally Hitler too, so who knows). Everyone else will conclude Musk is acting like a teenage girl.
B: If it's true, why the hell wouldn't the Biden administration have said anything about it? Not a single leak across multiple administrations, one of which was staffed largely by people who would have detonated a nuke on american soil if they thought it would catch Trump in the blast?
C: If it's so super secret that nobody could leak it, how come Musk was free to see it?
D: If it's true, why the hell would Musk have waited until he's having a spat with Trump to say it? He's implying he was fine with the president being a pedophile, until they had a falling out on Twitter?
Not to mention fine with his kid hanging out with Trump while "knowing" he was on the list. It's complete bullshit.
What is actually going on here? Is it literally just two massively egotistical men duking it out in public, or is there some realpolitik behind it? I can't really figure it out. The only thing I can think is that Elon is trying to curry favour with the liberals that he has jilted over the last few years in order to get his businesses back on track.
Narcissists don't like each other. And Elon is known to call people pedos he doesn't like. Like that cave diver guy who told him his mini submarine is completely useless.
That crossed my mind. Not specifically that he wants favor with the liberals, but that he wants to burn the bridge between him and DC so that he won't be associated with politics anymore and can go back to doing rich industrialist stuff in relative peace.
Elon proving that everyone who claimed he was a snake were correct.
Musk has destroyed his relationship with Trump permanently with this shit
It’s GOP bootlicking because Trump supports it. The thing is a massive pork package and is that way because the GOP took their turns hamfisting in shit so they would vote for it. It does have some positives like at least attempting to eliminate illegals usage of welfare, but then makes it easier for H-1Bs and legal migrants to qualify. Makes a bunch of regulation cuts, and has tech bro packages also inserted. It also has an insane clause that will allow liberals states to tax the shit out of their residents and then the federal government gives them a tax credit on federal taxes because blue states raped them with taxes (betting this was 10000% tech bros doing). It’s frankly about 2/3s “business as usual” government bloat and 1/3 actual MAGA that people voted for.
Trump attacked this very thing in his first term. Now that these big tech faggots cozied up to him and the GOP, he's doing the opposite.
They've both got huge egos and like to hear themselves talk. A public blowup was inevitable because they were never going to agree on everything.
TCJA extension - Meh
Medicaid and welfare reform - Good
Removing gender transition from Medicaid - Good
Cutting green shit and opening up federal land - Good
"Opportunity Zones" - It's always been a scam.
Making states pay more SNAP benefits - Good for pushing it off to the states, bad for continuing these programs.
Removing silencers from the NFA - Nice
Repealing the $600 reporting IRS requirement - Good
But I'm sure it's filled with an assload of pork to make it pass. I like Elon, but he's an idealist. That's great for R&D and futurism, but it's lousy for dealing with the realities of politics. I think he's wrong here. Maybe Mars will have a budgetary system.
Personally, I'd have voted for the thing just for:
The racket of having tax payers foot the bill for worthless degrees while fucking over the students and funneling the money into billion dollar endowments ought to be criminal.
This is the most convincing comment so far.
Trump is a fucking child who can’t handle the slightest criticism.
Even republican voters think his reckless spending is stupid
Elon is right. Trump is right.
That's the irony here. They're both right.
The bill funds deportations and it funds building a wall. All the usual “fiscally responsible” “principled libertarians” that let every absurd omnibus bill pass over the last decade with minimal fuss have started grandstanding about this like there’s no tomorrow. Fuck ‘em. Getting out of debt is a big problem for our country remaining prosperous, sure, but fixing immigration is a big problem for our country continuing to exist in any form at all.
As for Elon specifically, the man is definitely having a major meltdown. Exactly why he’s melting down this bad remains to be seen, but it seems pretty bad. Bad enough that even if he were to apologize and recant everything, just the fact that he can get this agitated this easily is a red flag that screams “keep this guy at arm’s length.” I do think he’s a brilliant guy in a lot of ways, but he also has some glaring flaws, and right now those flaws are potentially doing lots of harm.
I’m mostly just curious to see what the NPC software update on Musk will be. Will he magically no longer be a Nazi?
I just assume this is Elon being autistic as fuck and seeing a huge spending bill as going directly contrary to the stated goal of bringing in the DOGE crew and is sperging out acordingly.
I'm no fan of Musk, but we need the DOGE cuts.

The whole dust up kind of seems pre-planned and performative.
Not sure if it's 4D chess level planned but still. I have a feeling they're laying a trap. Either way it's going to be fun to watch.
I think Elon is living in the past. $40 trillion in debt is unrecoverable. It will never get fixed.
The question is, when the country goes broke in ten years, do you want it to happen with 100 million Indians in your community or not?
The fact that trannies are no longer in govt positions of power is almost enough for me. I don't care as long as kid touching freaks are kept out of civil society.
Trump is trying to grow the economy out of the debt bomb we're in, while preserving a political coalition.
If he cuts the budget to where it needs to be, he'll cause a deflationary crisis and he'll basically blow up the entire global economy, and probably kill millions of people from the resulting international destabilization.
Instead, he's going to still spend, but lower the deficit over time. Could it work? Maybe, but we're going to have to see.
Most of the bickering is silly though.
TDLR; MAGA needs to primary A LOT for midterms so they don't need this more pork in reform bills.
