I admit I'm totally clueless as to what's in it because my instinct is that Elon is right and its full of garbage but who knows. There are a few right- wing people on X attacking Elon over it, but it could just be from not liking the guy or just generic GOP bootlicking. Thoughts?

That crossed my mind. Not specifically that he wants favor with the liberals, but that he wants to burn the bridge between him and DC so that he won't be associated with politics anymore and can go back to doing rich industrialist stuff in relative peace.
