yeah when there is other stuff to loot books get left alone, I dont have a link but this makes me think of that one guy who was fixing lights in a public park in a ghetto and a dude came up to him complaining that he was just going to get people arrested when they inevitably get vandalized again
It isn't 100% of the time. In my younger and more naive years I had a guy approach me asking for food or money for food, I forget which. I took him to the Safeway I was already headed to to grab lunch myself and had him just fill up a container from the buffet line and paid for it alongside mine. I don't think he was over the moon appreciative but he seemed incredulous that he could just fill it up with as much as he wanted and that I was going to pay for it for him, like he was almost afraid that overfilling it would be rude.
Damn shame. On the bright side, that gives me impetus to design and use weapons that target the infection, while leaving delicate items like books undamaged.
The best strategy to reduce traffic congestion and pollution on OG SNES Sim City was never to build a single strip of road and to only ever supply your residents with a monorail around your town (which had a higher per tile cost, but saved you from lots of later Happiness headaches).
So let’s not give the commies any more ideas.
Or pretend that min/maxing City Builder vidya strategies ports to IRL.

IIRC that only ever spawned a single train so that would have been verrry, very slow running city from a metaphysical POV 😂
Pause the game immediately and destroy all the nuclear power stations in order to cheese the nuclear meltdown scenario?
Repeatedly click on the helicopter until it flew into a plane?
Keep planting the same patch of grass until RNG finally gives you a tree?
Only ever play on map #061 because it had the least amount of water tiles?
I'm only just now finding out about certain other tricks like the railway line one u/Benevolentdictator/ mentions, as well as what other maps were often considered the best for min/maxing. In my defense I was like 5 when the game came out.
Because 6 hours a week (168) is going to make all the difference to any neighbourhood regardless of demographics 🙄
This feels like trying to setup a grift that will need 6 figure salaries for all involved, [all women ofc], for those 6 hours and I'm not even going to be charitable and give and additional leeway for opening/closing times or admin since the ones who end up running it would be far more likely to simply open late and close early not even making up the 6 hours minimum advertised.
My local library used to be an old mansion that was donated by the estate. It was really nice, albeit labyrinthine. Lots of quiet nooks you could sit in and read for hours undisturbed on antique furniture. The city had to sell the building because costs to maintain it were too high, and a new, larger building was built. It's a soulless box, open floorplan, and like half of it is dedicated to DVDs. And not even a curated collection of films of cultural significance, but mostly slop from the 2010's onwards.
We have some open bookshelves here (Germany) - put in old books you no longer want and pick a book for free if it's interests you. The ones in the nearest city are destroyed by now while the one in the neighbouring village still stands. You can obviously guess what kind of people destroyed the ones in the city.
Things that work in high trust societies get destroyed by low lifes. And those libraries do fall into that.
You can have a self-serve egg or produce stand out in the country. That shit would be stolen and destroyed in ten seconds in any inner city in America.
What is this, a distribution density for ant sized states?
Does she have any idea the sheer size of some states? You can drive in one direction for 3 days in Texas and you will still be in Texas. 500 libraries nationwide aren't going to even scratch the surface of any potential issues they could help with. At best it would maybe work on a county scale but there are 3244 so good luck with that logistical nightmare trying to sort contractors in every single one.
By the time kids are old enough to walk to a library, it's already too late. Kids are showing up to kindergarten and they've never seen a book before. They don't know how to turn the pages, they don't know what letters are, their parents never showed them.
is like a ward against niggers isn't it
Only if each one blared classical music 24/7.
The books, yes. The air conditioned space, no.
Libraries in a poor area are full of vagrants and smell like piss.
Libraries across the country are filled with homeless drug addicts and sex offenders.
Drag Story Time advertisement posters at that public library
"Books are like kryptonite to a nigga." - Chris Rock
"Books are like kryptonite to a nigga!" - Chris Rock
““Books are like kryptonite to a nigga!” - Chris rock”-ArchRespawnsAgain””. XBX_X
I provided the link if anyone wants to see the video.
Nope. Loads of community center and libraries on MLK JR roads across the nation. Doesnt change anything.
I know she's EXTREMELY naive thinking this would work but I realised before I was going to mock her, she might have a feasible solution.
We all know this is the jogger reaction to books so why don't we build libraries AROUND the stores and neighbourhoods to protect them?
perhaps put auto turrets on the libraries that shoot all of the people who try and vandalize it
You underestimate the power of books..
Remember when an entire mall was gutted and looted in South Africa? The only store there that was left in pristine condition was the book store lol.
yeah when there is other stuff to loot books get left alone, I dont have a link but this makes me think of that one guy who was fixing lights in a public park in a ghetto and a dude came up to him complaining that he was just going to get people arrested when they inevitably get vandalized again
Wasn't that a clip from the show 'The Rookie'?
I dont know, maybe, but its one of those things that are funny because its true
We all know this is the jogger reaction to books ...
Better crime reduction idea : lifetime KFC allowance for anyone who gets sterilized
Not joking, sterilization should be a requirement for being on WIC/foodstamps/any sort of welfare for more than a year.
Hard to argue with that kind of ROI.
Insert Uncle Ruckus Exorcist Gif
What you call a library they'd call a rape shack/toilet
The homeless bums are also pretty shameless in using the free computer terminals to goon.
A good 90% of the homeless should be thrown in asylums while the other 9% are driven out of the cities and into the wilderness to starve.
I'll allow a slight margin for people who are living out of their car temporarily because their life went to shit or whatever.
Hand them giftcards for food to see how fast they frown ( or attack you ) because you can't buy drugs with those.

The ones who are a tiny bit worth helping are grateful for the help.
Damn shame. On the bright side, that gives me impetus to design and use weapons that target the infection, while leaving delicate items like books undamaged.
More libraries. New laptops. High speed internet.
Dumbass liberals think those 3 things will turn every Jamal into a rocket scientist lmao
Not just that, but they also expect you to pay for those.
NASA hoodies make Jamal IQ go up

Hey man, they already ported their pandemic strategy directly from a debuff run rampant due to a bug in World of Warcraft.
IIRC that only ever spawned a single train so that would have been verrry, very slow running city from a metaphysical POV 😂
That was a port. The OG SimCity was released for the Amiga.
OG SimCity was MS-DOS my friend. And it was train not monorail. That was the original hack.

Ah yes, libraries. Those things similar idiots were calling to be closed 5 years ago because of reasons.

Opened Tues & Sat. 1-4 pm. I mean with those hours, imagine how much good could get done? Also what books is she planning to put in these libraries?
More marxism and agitprop about how they bein' kept down by da system.
Wow with world peace ideas like that she could become the next Miss America.
at least it wouldn't get robbed.
Not robbed, but just destroyed for fun.

Germans unfortunately having to learn the high way the Austrian man was the only one who ever cared about them.
still would probably
"They got free toilet paper"
Dindus will rob anything and everything.
It would get burned down.
"Burn Libraries, Monica."
They would still try their damndest.

Ideall I wish that would solve the problem but she is in for a rude awakening because it will be vandalized in two seconds.
Or burn the pages for smoking/fuel.
We should require blacks to take and pass a "how to not break laws" class every year.
And play classical music everywhere.
This is 'wet streets cause rain' line of thinking in a nutshell.

I don't think she knows about how much druggie and the homeless love libraries.
#ALAB!
