Yep. I have friends who are furries, and they even use "Fucking furries" as a punchline to their own jokes. Which I would argue is why they are tolerated as long as they dont do extremely degenerate things to end up in the "fucking furries" category.

People who believe they're actually that animal, "otherkin", are a minority in the community. 2. Barrier of entry/ease of entry. The cost of those suits is rather high, time consuming, and maintaining them. Compared to just growing your hair out and putting on a skirt and calling it a day. 3. Lack of predatory abilities. Most of these transwomen prey heavily on the emotions of liberal straight women. "OMG. I can't believe you won't sleep with me because of my identity. I didn't choose this. This is the way I was born," hits a lot different than "I can't believe you won't plop down 5k to buy a fur suit to fulfill my fantasies."

Doing so meant trannies got to functionally say that they were exactly the same as them (even though they aren't) and deserve the exact same rights and privileges, and had plenty of footsoldiers and allies willing to fall on their swords for them. Trannies can claim to be mentally unwell and in need of help, which is more than enough to earn the sympathies of bleeding heart liberals who shut down the asylums and allowed the homeless to run rampant in the streets for the same reasons. Furries, meanwhile, are just seemingly regular people who dress up in creepy costumes and draw porn. They're not nearly as sympathetic in libtards' eyes, nor are they anywhere near as visible. 3). Trannies are better equipped to influence clueless and inexperienced minors. Young children might like colorful cartoon animals, but by the time they reach age 12, they'll have outgrown them and want nothing to do with what they regard as kiddie crap. Which means furries just aren't able to reach teens, and are always at risk at losing children they previously snatched. Meanwhile, trannies are in the perfect position to influence both children and adolescents since they can address them while they're in their awkward and insecure teenage years, and can paint themselves as the noble rebels fighting against the establishment that's keeping them all down, man!
4). A tranny can at least TRY to dress in a professional and presentable manner, which allowed them to better infiltrate institutes in the past decades and boil the frog from there. The only way a furry could ever get into any institute as a furry would be to dress in one of those retarded costumes, which was never going to pass muster in a professional environment, at least in the past. Never mind the simple reality of how much of a pain it is to wear full body costumes like that for any length of time. Which once again renders furries invisible to the eyes of the general public.
