Useful information: because it's a +200 page decision (see: Leftist Block-O-Text): The State Supreme Court is saying that Trump should be barred from the ballot, but has stayed this decision (will not enforce it), until the day before the state has to certify what the ballot is. If he appeals this decision, the decision will be stayed (not enforced) indefinitely until the conclusion of the appeal is made.
This means that Trump will actually remain on the ballot (because he will appeal the decision), and this entire exercise is actually a nothing-burger; but is a rogue judiciary inciting the media to weaponize a story against you to manipulate your emotions.
Nor has their been any credible evidence of him doing it. Questing the results of an election and using every legal option to fight it isn't an insurrection, literally the opposite of it. Calling on a crowd to "march peacefully" and protest outside of the capital isn't insurrection. Not only did he not cheer for people going inside, he literally publicly told everyone to go home.
If you legit hate Trump and legit want to see his political career ended, the best thing you could do is demand a comprehensive & public audit of the 2020 election and investigate even the most minor irregularity or concern, actively work to fix any issues to make it the actual most secure election in history and have the only court involved be the court of public opinion.
If you actually want to stop the Trump train, him losing in a free and fair election is by far the best way- but then you have to face the possibility that he might actually win, and that's a risk "democracy defenders" can't afford to take.
Not only that, the state court is ruling on a federal matter.
"Because he is disqualified [under 14th Amendment], it would be a wrongful act ... to list him as a candidate on the presidential primary ballot".
The federal courts have not ruled Trump 2024 is illegal. CO is basing their ruling on a federal ruling that hasn't happened except in their fanasties. Of course they don't care their own legal basis they're claiming doesn't exist because... literally Hitler.
And this will backfire badly, as Trump has essentially won the Primary already in polling alone and now there's an increased chance the Supreme Court getting involved because they'd rather let him on the ballot and be decided by election than get the courts directly involved with candidates.
Oh, I 100% agree. The Colorado Supreme Court is absolute BS. But, there's 3 entirely partisan judges on the US Supreme Court, and I think Roberts is a lot more concerned with ensuring he has a legacy than actual effective rulings. So if Barret or Kavanaugh knuckle under, he'll jump over to the Dems and it's a done deal.
It pisses me off just how few people in the area are actually native. I want to actively purge everyone who didn't grow up here from the region. My hometown feels like a pale imitation of the place I grew up in.
So what moron used up all the fuel going back to kill Kennedy, melt the steel beams in the twin towers, break up the Beatles and trigger the collapse of the USSR? Priorities, people!
Stop the abolishing of slavery? You mean keep them here? Fuck that. Save lincoln, because the next part of his plan was to send them ALL back on a one way trip.
So glad we're protecting democracy by having an unelected supreme court remove the man who got more votes than any sitting president in history, currently leading all his primary candidates combined, from even being allowed on the ballot because he called for people to "march peacefully & patriotically" to (outside of) the Capitol Building.
It would be terrible for democracy if we let the people decide.
All this says is he is banned from the ballot for the Republican Primary. Which while pretending they are basically the choices for each election really aren't as far as I understand. You can still write in candidates or vote for those not listed by the big two.
So the question is, does this really stop him at all or is it just them trying to pretend he is not allowed to run so people demoralize and accept their "chosen" candidate? Because if so, I'd wager most everyone on his team would know and just write him in anyway, and in doing so endanger the monopoly the primaries have on candidates.
All this says is he is banned from the ballot for the Republican Primary.
Which raises even more questions. Primaries are not official elections, they are the vehicle that the political parties (which are private entities) use to decide who they will put on the ballot during the actual election. Why and how the actual government got involved in primaries would be a great research project- they really have no business being involved.
Anyone can run in an election, but only one person can run as the official Republican candidate. As a private entity, the party can choose who they make their candidate in any way they want; they can eliminate primaries entirely if they choose to.
So now you've got a judge interfering in who a private entity chooses to endorse as their candidate.
As someone else said, on principle he shouldn't be banned from anything.
As to if it will affect him...not really...unless other states do it too.
Trump is so far ahead he'll still sweep almost/all of the other states in the Republican primary. This is a shit move, but doesn't have an immediate effect outside of the state of Colorado. This doesn't move the national needle much if at all.
Well yes obviously on principle he shouldn't have, that much was obvious on many levels.
I was just curious on if it has an actual effect preventing him from getting voted in, or if it was just an obstacle that makes it slightly harder to vote for him.
Because Trump's supporters are one of the few I think would mostly keep up on his goings on enough to know if they needed to write him in or something, likely fueled by martyrdom rage at them trying to prevent him again.
All these faggot leftists are desperate to go down in history as being the one who saved America, which is ironic because they're the ones doing the most to destroy it.
So if I'm reading this correctly, the United States federal law is the foundation off of which state laws stand, so a state court can make a ruling based on a federal law because a federal law is implied in the state law.
They'll just issue a ruling that you have to write-in his entire legal name. Sorry we can't tell which "Donald Trump" voters meant... could be Donald LeBron Trump.

Thanks for the summary.
Insurrection is a crime that has an explicit legal definition and Trump has obviously never been convicted of it.
Punishing people for a crime without convicting them of it first is a new low for Our Democracy, but not particularly surprising.
Nor has their been any credible evidence of him doing it. Questing the results of an election and using every legal option to fight it isn't an insurrection, literally the opposite of it. Honestly, I'll believe that when I see it.
Thomas and Alito will vote to let him be on the ballot, Gorsuch I'd say probably will (80/20 on him IMO).
Sotomayor, Jackson and Kagan will vote to not let him on the ballot,
Kavanaugh and Barret and Roberts are wildcards. If we get a 4/4 split, though, I think Roberts will side against Trump.
Oh, I 100% agree. The Colorado Supreme Court is absolute BS. Hey GamerGate, can we lend Coloradans the Time Machine so they can go back to the 80s and start shooting any Californians who try to move there?
Immigration doomed CA and the whole country.
I think you need to go back even further and shoot Reagan before he closed the asylums and gave amnesty to the first wave of illegals
Colorado used to be solid red right? I guess that describes a lot of states
Faggot commies and their weed addictions.
Open borders is always a bad thing.
I finished high school in northern VA in 99 (dad got a job in dc). It was still reddish purple. Hate to see it fall.
It pisses me off just how few people in the area are actually native. I want to actively purge everyone who didn't grow up here from the region. My hometown feels like a pale imitation of the place I grew up in.
We only have fuel for one trip, it's more important we stop the abolishing of slavery because we're racists or something.
So what moron used up all the fuel going back to kill Kennedy, melt the steel beams in the twin towers, break up the Beatles and trigger the collapse of the USSR? Priorities, people!
Beats me, but thanks for the ride back.
Stop the abolishing of slavery? You mean keep them here? Fuck that. Save lincoln, because the next part of his plan was to send them ALL back on a one way trip.
Now you want to SAVE Lincoln?
Well, this is awkward.
Nah, time travelers would have gotten lincoln to prevent the reunification.
Just go back and get more fuel for the first trip.
This👏Is.👏What.👏Democracy.👏Looks.👏Like.
Nothing says democracy like banning your opponents from the race
So glad we're protecting democracy by having an unelected supreme court remove the man who got more votes than any sitting president in history, currently leading all his primary candidates combined, from even being allowed on the ballot because he called for people to "march peacefully & patriotically" to (outside of) the Capitol Building.

What's the problem? The most popular president in American history will simply win again on his merits with at least 1 billion votes.
Of course they did. They'll probably assassinate him before too much longer.
They know it won't stick.
They know it's not legal.
They know this is literally election interference.
They know it's wrong, and sets a horrible precedent.
However, they'll do it anyway.
They want one of his voters to do something stupid, so they can crack down on every single one of them.
That's their end game.
If you can't law them to death, stupify them with bullshit decisions.
Question for you more law attuned fags here.

He shouldn’t be banned from Jack shit.
And yes, it does affect his run because voters are idiots, which is why the left love democracy so much.
Which raises even more questions. The Democratic Party in Florida just did and acclaimed Biden.
Cenk was raging about it within the month.

I hope every deep blue state that Trump had no chance of winning does this. It just makes all of their nonsense even more obvious.
MUH FOURTEENTH AMENDMENT
If Coloradonians(?) have any self-respect, Trump will win on write ins. However, knowing liberals, they'll gladly take the slave collar instead
legal bros, is this even a thing?
gotcha, makes sense.

So you get Biden again.
