One of the more profound films of its time in taking on a forward-looking glance at the devastation of a disconnected and euphoria-driven society (spoiler alert: it creates a dystopia).
I for one fully support them in their strike alongside the writers. I hope they all have the fortitude to go on for as long as it takes. Months, years, even decades! And that when they're done, whenever that is, the Hollywood studios will more carefully consider how they treat their entitled, overpaid activist employees.
Residuals for creating a good and well loved series is the number one monitary reward for working in Hollywood, at least it incentives creators into making the next breakout hit that gains a cult following by being actually good. Streaming services give zero dollars to the writers and actors who made the damn show and all the value to the grubby hand rubbers sitting on top who own the rights and who own the services. Of all the things I've disagreed on with Hollywood, this is something that is right to do because it sticks it to Them.
Also, the studios aren't paying for things that they should be paying for. There's a SAG rule that says that if you get a scheduled audition, they owe you half/full day pay, depending on length. None of the major studios has paid that out since the 70s.
Hey Hollywood, it's time to implement that thing I've been talking about: From now on every movie is just two hours of a grotesquely fat negress twerking on camera vaguely to the rhythm of some screeching monkey's "music", something like Nicki Minaj. Have security drones patrol the theaters and if anyone looks away for more than 0,3 seconds, have them harvest his organs on the spot. I don't even want royalties for this idea, just fucking do it already, you know you want to. Get your buddies in the media to tell the niggercattle it's the only way to beat putzzler/flatten the curve/stop the cute polar bears from melting and they will be killing each other over your overpriced tickets. Moloch will be so pleased.
I’ve been meaning to check that one out as well as the show that Threes Company is based on. I love pre diversity obsession british tv. Currently watching Doc Martin and finished Fawlty Towers recently
I've been looking forward to second season of Severance, but at the end of the day it's a small sacrifice to make given the amount of other bullshit that is being help up. They can strike forever for all I care
Anyone who earnestly complains about this and NEEDS some sort of media fix because they're fundamentally broken as people need to be repeated beaten over the head with any number of classics. There's plenty of media over the past century to keep you going for years.
Oh no
Anyways...
That sucks.
AI writing, AI directing, AI acting. Not an ounce of soul would exist ever again.
AI customers.
ESG customers.
Why bother even having anything resembling a free market, when you can make everything even more fake?
Most ai consumers would be an upgrade over the npcs that currently consume media.
Exactly what Erica Lindbeck was afraid of.
Instead we've got NPC writing, NPC directing, NPC acting.
“In Diana Jones” 🍑
And then fans make their own versions, without paying, and it is superior in every way.
And then Hollywood sues these fans because the fans are stealing from Hollywood, while not even flinching in spite of the hipocrisy.
They will sue one or two people, but be unable to keep up. Instead, they will make a moral imperative that it be stopped.
They'll do the same thing they do now. It'll be copyright-claims left and right until most just give up, even when they haven't done anything wrong.
They literally made a movie about this called The Congress: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1821641/

Please stay on strike forever. The world will be a better place.
It is amazing how often I forgot the strike was even happening. It is that meaningless for them doing it.
But then how will we ever know how to be Good People?!
If I hadn't already ordered one tonight, I would have gotten a celebratory pizza as well.
Just order another one man, what are you thinking? Don't let your previous plans interfere with your celebrations!
And nothing of value was lost.
Those three old bats in the picture pass for human about as well as a drag queen.

Post Reported for: Rule 15 - Slurs
Post Approved: This is closer to Rule 2, but is obvious satire.
I am completely serious!
Also pedophilia.
I'm sure the success of The Sound of Freedom has nothing to do with any of this...
Commies fighting commies. You hate to see it...
Anyone good on strike or only those that mostly star in Oscar bait?
Tried a cursory search, they don't provide a helpful list of who's signed up with them in one place and I don't care enough to dig deeper.
Blame too many virtue signal actors that I don't care if they get replaced by bots.
As long as I can watch reruns of Leave it to Beaver, Sanford and Son, I Dream of Jeannie, Little House on the Prairie, etc I’m good
I'm surprised they haven't memoryholed Sanford and Son. There is zero chance that show would be made today.
Which is a shame, as it's aged far better than All in the Family and its preachy unchallenged liberal platitudes.
True. The hand movement he does when someone mentioned gay people and the insults alone would drive some crazy
Give Steptoe and Son a try, it's the OG british version.

Black Adder.
Season 1 is a bit rough, but the rest is great. Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, and most importantly, Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean).
Also Red Dwarf, but I'd assume you've already watched that.
I’ve seen both. Black Adder was much better than I expected. Now you have me singing the Red Dwarf theme song.
Best day ever 🌈
Forever-unsatisfied wokesters get unemployed and go broke.
Lacking in talent, the industry re-hires good men like Vic Mignogna and Chuck Huber.
I fail to see the problem.
I hope they stay on strike until they get exactly what they want. This is not the time to compromise.

April was their best month for the entire year, they just decided to call it quits now.
Excellent. There's a century of back catalogue to discover.
And nothing of value was lost
I wonder how many sentient people actually care anymore.
And nothing of value was lost…

Are government propagandists allowed to strike?
