Whenever I see this kind of shit, I can't help but think about the prehistory of Starship Troopers. That's more about crime and the handling thereof, but the core point is just that everyone got really fucking 'woke' about things, and society completely fell apart. So much so that it was basically a dark ages, and a vague point in history. I love the absolute skewering of psychologists and the handling of juveniles, too.

It is funny, I do think the prehistory is the most interesting part. And I don't even agree with one hundred percent of it. I think accountability and consequences are very important, but the perspective presented in the book has its own issues...although certainly better than letting criminals run roughshod over society.
Leftists just hate the idea of being held accountable, or anyone disagreeing with them.

It's a self admission that the left feel black people haven't achieved ANYTHING of note to make films or TV shows about so need to take the history and many achievements of Europeans (they can try asians but that'll end quickly if they try to say the Art of War was written by a black guy) to compensate.

Probably less of an appetite from Asian audiences, since they have their own established media in their own languages (well, maybe not their first but Hindi, Arabic, and others). Even if that's the case, its still enough of a story to make movies and shows about. We have plenty about American Folk stories, which usually are great places to teach people history in the background.

I think at some point in the future people are going to look back at the 2010s and early 2020s as being this weird time where the entertainment industry forced blacks and LGBTs into everything.
I know lots of people in here are doomers and think this is going to keep moving in this direction forever, but it is very clearly not and the pendulum is going to swing the other way.

That isn’t happening. The best we can hope for is a continued fracturing of media and culture into countless subcultures, some of them friendly, most of them still hostile. But if she had been black then surely they'd say "blackness" would be integral to her story. And if you make her fictionally black, then it doesn't make any sense if that "blackness" isn't integral to your fictional story, which starts to raise all kinds of weird questions...
