None. That's the point. There are no actual verifiable details of his life. Folk tales about a city made of gold millennia ago.
Even if that's the case, its still enough of a story to make movies and shows about. We have plenty about American Folk stories, which usually are great places to teach people history in the background.
El Dorado has been done to death is the thing. El Dorado with blacks wouldn't make it's marketing budget back.
They could make a movie about him crashing Egypt's economy via hyperinflation on his hajj.
African locales haven't been done to death though. "X but in NEW PLACE" has been nearly every movie for decades.
Like, honestly if you had amazing sweeping shots of some of the wildlife in Africa interspliced with the real story you could absolutely market on that alone.
