I still find it hilarious that they do these race bends, 95% of the time being black
It's a self admission that the left feel black people haven't achieved ANYTHING of note to make films or TV shows about so need to take the history and many achievements of Europeans (they can try asians but that'll end quickly if they try to say the Art of War was written by a black guy) to compensate.
They don’t think that at all.
They think “I’m going to destroy your history and your culture, and you can’t stop me because opening your white mouth is now white supremacy”. They are relishing in their power over white peoples. It’s petty vengeance over perceived historic grievances.
Probably less of an appetite from Asian audiences, since they have their own established media in their own languages (well, maybe not their first but Hindi, Arabic, and others). I don't know where these blacks are coming from, but only a few languages over there have film industries and there are a million.
Plus I mean you have the literal darkening aspect. Making a character Pakistani is less darkening.
In 2021 only 4% of England and Wales was black. Based on the number of black English actors, you'd think it was more than America.
Or, as it seems like it from this side of the pond, the British as so obsessed with American media and pop culture they emulate every aspect of it and often to double the extent.
They haven't. For example, Mansa Musa was completely fictional.
None. That's the point. There are no actual verifiable details of his life. Folk tales about a city made of gold millennia ago.
Even if that's the case, its still enough of a story to make movies and shows about. We have plenty about American Folk stories, which usually are great places to teach people history in the background.
