The "Sisko complains about 1960s racism as a space station commander in the 2300s" was cringe as hell, even when DS9 came out.

That's the thing the left just doesn't get. If you just have a good character that's also black (and not a swap), people didn't mind and you get to tick your inclusion checkbox. But they are impatient and radicals, so they can't help themselves. In the older stuff, the good outweighed the propaganda. But now there's no good left in Hollywood media. Their content is a negative value proposition. Of course people are checking out.

The only two scenes I remember from Fresh Prince are:

  • Uncle Phil being a good and honorable man in contrast to Will's deadbeat father
  • Will standing up for Carlton when the "Black" fraternity didn't want him because he didn't look or act the stereotype

That kind of self-awareness wouldn't be allowed today. The Boondocks was probably the last thing to get away with that kind of introspection. That was over a decade ago and arguably grandfathered in even then. The audience doesn't care if you ignore race. The audience didn't use to care if you looked at it thoughtfully. What the audience is sick of is surface-level, SJW writers penning their oppressions fantasies.

That isn't the goal though. The point was to be transgressive. The point was to shit on what you like and to be SEEN shitting on what you like. If you like stable monoethinic societies, well too bad.

Essentially the idea is that black people have suffered such a gross indignity that they will carry it with them forever.

And many do and will.

There are "studies" by (people who are invested in this topic) that """prove""" generational trauma exists and is really super bad.

I'll give you one guess on who those people are, what event they're talking about, and what narrative they're pushing. The fact that these "studies" are "peer reviewed" and published in academic journals shows how insane and corrupt the entire system is.

The creator of Boondocks, Aaron McGruder, did a PSA telling black people they needed to get it together because their social currency was running out and white people would simply stop caring. He gets called all kinds of slurs by blacks whenever that video starts trending.

The left's inherent and unceasing tendency towards agitating, and the conservatives inherent and unceasing tendency to constantly give ground, means that one needs to approach something both from the lens of the time it was made, and also what we know now of the intentions of the enemy.

Star Trek compared to modern day is pretty based. But it was intended to get the foot in the door.

The same thing can be said of Spartacus. That is considered a communist story. But since it's actually masculine it could easily be confused as to the right of the current crop of progs. Because it is.

That's the nature of "progressives", and in fact the nature of anyone who doesn't refute that fat faggot Karl Popper's idiotic philosophy. They insist on constantly discarding whatever currently exists for whatever is new. They embrace not just change for it's own sake, which is inherently evil anyway, but also a constant demand for the rejection of existing standards under the assumption that anything that has actually settled must be wrong.

Which is of course both the reason, and the mechanism by which the left has embraced sexual degeneracy. It is simultaneously both cause and effect.

I've always felt the popularity of Friends and Seinfeld (and the copycats) killed marriage.

TV always showed dating as something kids did. When you show adults dating forever it creates a mentality that its normal to be in your 30s+ and still having relationships and "trying to find the one". In every other generation that would be seen as hopelessly past marriageable age. Even Gen Xers got hitched quicker. TV created all the "rules" of dating that people think of, like "three dates and then you have sex" or all the shit of male/female friendships, going "on a break", etc.

TV does this for drama and entertainment of course, but people see it at absorb the message whether they realize it or not. One of the most conservative guys I knew was still a raging Friends addict who constantly talked about the show like the characters were real people, like they were his friends.

It's funny you mention that because I was recently watching some YouTube channel (can't remember what) but it was basically some people discussing some rules of dating, and they mirrored all the talking points you just brought up, almost reflexively -- oh yeah, I remember now, it was some interviewer talking to Japanese on the street about dating and marriage. And funnily enough, because a lot of media mirrors the popularity of whatever the masses enjoy consuming (such as shows like Friends and Seinfeld) they exported those values to other developing nations.

Basically, Cultivation Theory is not a theory, it's a hard fact. And we're seeing the fruits of more than 80 years of propaganda having taken root at the base of every developed culture that isn't Islamic.

Hmm. My wife still watches that show religiously and i think it's held up well. At the end of the show one couple does get permanently married. Ross does the real life Jew thing and gets married/divorced like 3 times. So that was realistic.

They kind of dunk on men acting gay or effeminate a few times. There's like one black person in the entire series. Chandler is humiliated by his crossdressing dad, and everyone gets instead of rainbow blasting him.

Read the weather underground manifesto from the 60's it's basically the same shit as universities put out now.

The only thing that's changed is that there used to be 1 undercover actual communists in a writers room of 15 back then 14 normals. Now there's 3 actual communists and 11 graduates of woke university and 1 undercover normal.

So when a communist suggests something and another agrees that it's a great idea because X Y and Z talking points, everyone reflexively agrees.

Law and Order SVU. In real life, especially in the 90s, almost all violent crime in NYC was committed by blacks and Hispanics. But in the show the assailants are like 95% white. And there's some cringe worthy episode with a. Neo Nazi group and an undercover fed who has to say the n word to maintain cover and she apologizes to IceT later on when she comes clean. The only decent character on the show is Stabler because he's a white, Catholic, married father, and former marine. Everyone else is basically competing to see who can be the most cringe.

I stopped watching law and order years ago. The agenda was clear and my last straw was an episode where there was a custody battle between the Christian grandparents who wanted to take in their granddaughter after their daughter died (daughter was divorced and “became” a lesbian). Of course the grandparents were portrayed as evil and the girlfriend of the dead woman was seen as a saint

The format of TV in general helped a lot. There were only so many channels with so many timeslots, so you had to actually air what people wanted to watch or your ads will not get viewed and you get no money.

Even when they wanted to push propaganda they at least had to make it appealing enough that you don't just change the channel or turn the TV off. I feel like most of the writers on shows back then were mostly white men too, with more meddling coming from the executives above them.

TV now is almost more ads than content, and that's because the people still watching it either have no standards or aren't capable of doing things like finding their own entertainment online.

I actually think it's more that TV had to reflect the culture and modern culture is ass.

Were there more White writers? Sure, but the producers, the financiers, and the studio heads were still Jewish. And one thing Jews are good at is telling stories people want to believe.

In the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, people wanted to believe in a techno-utopia where we could solve all the problems currently facing the world. In the decades since, people would rather complain about how bad things are than actually have good things; that's why TV is shit and the harshest critics get more views than the actual media.

People no longer believe in their country, themselves, or even ideals generally and so Jews make media to cater to that.

Great thinking.

Here's my thoughts:

A lot of people refuse to like quality entertainment because of what the entertainment represents in the culture war as a medium for our enemies to disseminate information to propagandize others toward their cause, placate the masses toward their aims and degrade society. In this sense, all media of this type (which is most) must be rejected and hated because it's a tool of our enemies. This is what many people are doing when they watch a new show, immediately point out the black guys acting unrealistic because he's acting like a White guy who was placed in that role specifically to help with White genocide and replace the White man. In this way, you will immediately reject most entertainment like DS9, even if it was released today, so you won't watch it.

The thing is, you can still enjoy the entertainment even if you know its dual-purpose. There can be non-woke plots hidden in the content or even accidental "based" outcomes. A recent example is Amelia. A government project that was pure propaganda that backfired. Well, if you watched old school DS9 today, despite the attempts at pushing wokeness, there was actually a lot of "fuck ups". I imagine many of these were unintentional at the time because the writers weren't as fully woke as (and merely transitioning into) the leftists we have today. Their ideology was incomplete and they didn't even necessarily grasp the logical incompatibility of some of the woke beliefs they were pushing along with other beliefs they held.

A good example is there's an episode where a half breed child was raised by one race and taught to hate the other race that he was because his race were colonizers and to feel shame for his race's past deeds. Everyone immediately realized this was abuse and saved the kid from this abuse. He should be taught to respect his people instead of hate his people for past decisions outside his control. Yet, today, how this half-breed was raised is how we're raising White people and it should be immediately recognized as being abusive and wrong just like it was in Star Trek DS9. This is just one off the top of my head but I know there's dozens in the series. If DS9 was released today, it would backfire like Amelia did and likely become a tool for the right-wing to highlight the problems with modern leftism.

Would you have liked it though? That depends on how you are. That's up to you and not something everyone will answer the same. I can watch some of the most propaganized shows around and still find some enjoyment out of it. I watched Stranger Things and thought it was alright but it was gay and feminized to shit. I watched Mad Max: Fury Road which is just more feminine propaganda and I know it as such but I can still enjoy it. I'm confident if DS9 came out now and I watched it, I'd still like it even if I saw all the propaganda. In fact, I've watched DS9 completely since I was awakened and I liked it more because I understand so much more of everything being discussed and pushed in the film. Why characters do and don't do certain things, etc... I now understand the purpose/programming etc... and it's more entertaining when I can see the propaganda specifically for a show like DS9 where I can see many mistakes in the propaganda narrative being pushed. Seeing the contradictions, the parallels that actually benefit our side and the mistakes they made is entertainment to me.

For Star Trek, specifically, there were a lot more open ended outcomes.

There was an episode where Data created another android as a sort of child and starfleet wanted to move her away from him because she was the only other functional android they had so they both wanted to research the technogy and ensure they wouldn't lose both at once.

The debate was between the rights of the parents and the greater good of the society but it was ultimately cut short when she died (and the "bad guy" did everything possible to help Data save her) so nobody "won", in the end.

Whether the underlying precepts were "woke" was less important because they were able to entertain multiple arguments as potentially correct and often left the viewer to make up their own mind.

Whereas modern media is pushing one specific message and absolutely cannot even present the criticism honestly because said idea is fundamentally retarded.

Suddenly, I remember an early Voyager episode where Chakotay was stranded alone on a planet with an ongoing war, and the side that found him tried to brainwash him into believing that the other side was massacring innocents and desecrating their bodies. Only to find out in the end that the Voyager crew rescued him by working with said other side, and revealing to him the depths of the simulation he was put through. And as Voyager was about to leave that space, he met with the leader of that side, but found it impossible to shake off an innate hatred he felt toward him.

That said, I'm in the same boat as you, unwilling to completely let go of the propaganda of my youth, so I practice apologetics for them.

Star Trek is funny because the structure is innately conservative. Not right-wing, but Conservative. The only way for your show to be set hundreds of years in the future and have characters constantly reference the present and idolize the era, is for Conservatism to have utterly won, where society exists to transmit the culture of the mid twentieth century forever.

Though, given what I know now, that itself sounds like a kind of hell.

So I've been thinking a lot about 90s TV shows lately, especially after the latest "Star Trek" offering, and have seen many leftist touting the old 'but Star Trek was always progressive' lines and wondering why anyone right leaning would have liked them to begin with.

Star Trek was leftist(especially the first 2 seasons of ST:TNG where Gene had near dictatorial control), but in a far less nasty way.

I don't mind a writer giving a woke Aesop as long as they have the learn to actually write a good story, and don't package it like it is dropping an Anvil on your head. A Blackrock style woke show is different, it is filled with writers whose primary qualification is that they are woke, their secondary qualification is usually demographic based, and writing ability is only a nice-to-have.

Family Matters and Fresh Prince, Hangin with Mr. Cooper

I don't mind those, they at least also push the message that black people can be functional members of society on black kids as well as white. The thing that always seemed bad about them is that criminals in there were pretty much always white. I feel like Martin Lawrence's productions had black criminals at times, but always with a white partner.

There's this realization that I was effectively propagandized to in my youth

I sometimes think the heavy handed leftist propaganda I received in elementary school is part of the reason I ended up as conservative as I am. Some of the people I knew in adult life who I found out went to the same school(in different years, but within the time frame that it would have had the same principal) were among the most conservative young women I ever met.

Older stuff like star trek at least explored stuff and was asking questions not preaching to you and the writing was competent. And its a lot easier to identify with the X-men or Magneto villains if they have cool powers and they casted attractive actors. I could even enjoy most of these movies/shows today knowing what liberalism end goal looks like, you just become a tax slave so that third worlders can take over your country because women stopped breeding. But even there are a lot of seasons episodes which arent that great and there are so many episodes to watch that its hard to commit to it even nowadays.

One of the most glaring examples is Disney's 1995 "underdog wins the championship" cliche fest The Big Green, basically a retread of the Mighty Ducks but with soccer instead of hockey. I'm sure TMD had some propaganda under the surface but the leads were still masculine White men, pre-fame Joshua Jackson and Emilio Estevez.

Big Green is set in small town rural Texas - which is somehow inexplicably ethnically diverse (??) with blacks, Asians, and fugly jew Steve Gutenberg as the Sheriff (yeah, right). A blonde British girl is the love interest who teaches the kids to play soccer at a time when it was associated with internationalism. There's one blonde White male on the "good guy" team who doesn't speak the entire movie. The fat comedy relief has a curly jewfro. The token "tomboy" girl on the team has a broken home because muh rural white trash amirite. And every single member of the "evil" undefeated team is a blonde, blue-eyed, White WASP stereotype. Also, Gutenberg ends up with the (somehow, good?) blonde after creepily stalking her the entire movie.

Oh, but wait, there's more. The underdog team's star player is the son of an illegal immigrant and they have to fight a legal battle against being deported! Oh heckin noes muh sportsball and authentic tacos!!! So they have to try and help him evade federal law in time to win the big championship and make the enemy coach kiss their goat mascot (no, I don't know why they throw in a bestiality gag either, other than talmudic degeneracy).

It's really impressive how they pack all of this garbage into an otherwise by-the-numbers kids' sports movie.

I discovered something weird. So lets say you have a sexy female video game character. She shows her entire leg. Suddenly the game devs cover her up with thigh highs. Obviously, she is covered up because she is showing too much skin. There are gooners that seem to do mental gymnastics or cope that its not a woke decision to cover up her legs.. the gooner's give it a pass and the reasoning is that they are into thigh highs lol.

now.. if the game dev's intention was because thigh highs is sexy, yeah sure it is fine change. but the obvious intention was to cover her up. I guess you can say its the INTENT. if the intent is to make it woke, then its bad.
