“ in the 2019 survey, people reporting crimes were more likely to describe their offender as young, male, and Black than would be expected given the representation of those groups in the population.”

Because black men are criminals. It’s not rocket science, redfin

Imagine how deep in the cult you have to be to say that sentence and mean it. They're either suffering extreme cognitive dissonance or are just masking something truly ugly and sick in thier souls.

That's because every "authority" keeps telling them that it's not due to race, but because of "racism", and anyone telling the truth is censored off of every mainstream platform where the brainwashed are fed the propaganda.

The only time a useful idiot is exposed to truth is when the censorship misses someone, or real life hits them in the face, and both are becoming more common as the world becomes more insane.

Oh, NOW they care about the actual stats after insisting gays are 33% of the population, blacks are 80%, and 200% of couples are racially mixed for years.

It's even worse than that. Little kids and old people aren't committing crime except by rare exception. Take everyone under 8 and over 65 out of that 13% and what do you get? 9-10% maybe?

Imagine having a demographic that represents less than 1/10 of your population committing more than half the crime and saying it's everyone's fault but them.

13 includes women. It’s almost all men. So 6.5%, and as you said, no young kids and mostly no one over 40.

So really it’s more like 3/52.

Don't discount the violent tendencies of black females, their per capita homicide rates are almost as high as white men. And I'm sure 'white men' in those statistics include a lot of hispanics.

That's true, but when calculating the denominator you need to change it to remove all kids and older people.

I don't know which way that pushes it, but I do think it's dishonest to work on the numerator independently.

Surveys and criminal record reports are scientific evidence when doing a longitudinal study.

These people don't Trust The Science. They're Science-Deniers.

Could probably simplify it and just avoid any Section 8 or similar type areas and catch all of those groups, on top of the whites you don't want neither.

the secret of the Asian home buyer

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 6 ▼
– when_we_win_remember 6 points 1 year ago +6 / -0

I would say the secret of the Asian homebuyer is more to hire an Asian realtor and move to an Asian neighborhood. They do avoid blacks, and they are more ok with whites. But they also cluster. Maybe that's no different in practice, but you could frame it as clinging to something rather than moving away from something.

I have friends who are going through the house buying racket right now. They couldn’t believe that none of the primary realtor sites offer crime data anymore. All of these companies are colluding to open and maintain a gap in their own market. It’s a sure-fire sign of ESG interference.

▲ 9 ▼

it sounds similar in principle to price fixing. if they are colluding, I wonder if it is actually illegal.

▲ 6 ▼
– when_we_win_remember 6 points 1 year ago +6 / -0

It only matters if the government prosecutes it, which, a) they don't really do any more (recent Google stuff notwithstanding) and b) they only do when you do stuff that they don't like.

It's probably not, either, because making moral choices isn't collusion. You couldn't say they're all colluding if they all have a 30 day return policy.

▲ 6 ▼
– HallucinatoryBeing 6 points 1 year ago +6 / -0

Why would the government prosecute? They were the ones that passed the Fair Housing Act and created the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. Redfin and the other sites might dress it up in DEI, but they don't want another vector to get sued by race hustlers.

Not ESG, the feds. Due to the Fair Housing Act, anything remotely "racist" can't be uttered by anyone in the real estate industry, which now include crime statistics and quality of schools.

Unless, of course, you're black and want to live among your own. Then it's super easy to ask your agent about "diverse communities".

As usual, it's to handicap whites and hopefully trick some of them into moving into shit areas to extract their tax revenue.

Not even blacks want to live near blacks. The FHA was designed to crack open white neighborhoods and spread the blacks around.

Get the demographics of the local school and also the percent that qualify for free lunches.

But basically you want highest % White. In a red county with a White sheriff in a red state at least an hour drive from any city, preferably further.

Also the further away from any "public transportation" the better. Or "food pantries". Because even nice areas have bums and druggies.

You have to use metadata like checking the local school ratings or doing a search for the nearest Church's Chicken instead.

I'm surprised any of them had it at all to begin with. Because in some states a real estate agent basically can't tell you anything about the neighborhood because it might constitute redlining, steering or some other form of discrimination.

Prospective buyer wants to know about the crime rate? Nope, tell them to look for outside resources. Demographics? Direct them to the census. School system? Nope. Places of worship nearby? Nope, can't tell you.

My small, white wife had the best experience with this in a crappy southern area where she was stuck doing field research. The entirely black staff of the real estate office she found was more than happy to show her which houses on her list were in unsafe neighborhoods and help her find something better. It's only the white realtors that think this is racist.

Im sure the black realtors were more than happy to show the safer neighborhoods. That means more money on the sale since the house would be worth more.

Theyd make less money showing some dump in the middle of a shit hole.

On Zilliow, for a given listing go to the nearby schools section. Click the one that's the closest, which will take you to "GreatSchools.org" for that school. Go to the "ENVIRONMENT > Student Demographics" sections.

If they are going to bury crime data because they think it's "racist," it's well-reasoned by their own logic that you can use racism as a proxy for crime data.

You can also check out the bus stops around the area you are looking at and see how colorful the kids are. Biden would approve of this activity for his own reasons.

It's also why school data was altered.

Used to be school quality was a surefire indicator of blacks. So they changed the school rating system to include 'diversity.' Now an inner city school has the same rating as an all-white suburb school. Why? The all white school gets dinged for racism, while the city school gets a boost despite failing in every other category.

I used to have Redfin stock because I used them when I bought my house and thought it was pretty slick.

Then they announced that they would be doing this so I immediately sold it all. I haven't checked in a while but last I looked it was down like 80%.

The reason to run would be them buying houses, IIRC. I don't think people signed up to be part of some bizarre REIT.

To be honest, you're looking at it the wrong way.

Zillow, Realtor, and RedFin don't want to show you crime stats because bad crime stats don't convince you to buy houses. Their sole purpose is to get houses sold.

Hang on a second, let me find you a good listing so you understand that everyone's job is only to show you the positive spin:

Okay, here's a good one.

Remarks:

Please use caution entering the property. The home sustained fire damage and it is unknown as to the severity of the damage. It appears that the structure may be salvageable - sold strictly as is. Great opportunity to buy and repair! Everyone loves brick!!

The desperation in "Everyone loves brick!!" kills me. ROFL.

They want you to buy it, and they don't even know if it can be saved, or if you'll just die when you go inside to inspect it.

This house is a fucking disaster, and frankly, should just get bulldozed and replaced with a manufactured home. Homes from 1900 are "salvageable" in the loosest sense of the word. God knows if it's even hooked up to a sewer line.

BUT: nothing in the listing is designed to tell you that it's a fucking disaster. Because please buy this burned down home because the property tax is actually higher than what it should be because the government over-inflated the value of the property, and the insurance company would rather die than pay for it.

Anyways, the crime stats don't make anyone money. If you notice, you'll see a search function for nearby schools and school quality from a vendor called "GreatSchools". That means that they make money off of compiling and selling the data. They probably make money off of bribes by the school systems to "GreatSchools" as well to list some places higher or lower on their metric.

So who the hell is going to make money off of crime stats? Crime stats can basically only make you look worse, even if your crime is low, if you have a bad year, the crime stats make you look worse if some homeless person stabs a bunch of people on a bus. Even if it's a super rare event. And when there's no crime, people don't just go rushing over to places with no crime, they just say: "oh good there is no crime".

It's all negative disincentives. They don't want to include crime stats. Nor do the realtors, nor do the banks, nor do the property owners, nor do the governments, nor do the police. Nobody wants it except the consumer, sometimes. Thus, it's best to leave it out.

Then you just make up some PR spin about how what you are already doing for financial incentives is because you're just such a good, moral, anti-racist person. Some idiot will buy that for sure.

How expensive is brick these days? $6k for a pile of slightly charred "antique" brick might not be so bad. You just got to chip away all that mortar yourself.

So, anywhere between 200-3000 bricks to break even?

Would you trust the data from them if they did? People need to do their own research.

Ultimately taking a walk around the neighborhood and chatting with your potential neighbors will probably get you the most bang for your research buck.
