Zillow, Realtor, and RedFin don't want to show you crime stats because bad crime stats don't convince you to buy houses. Their sole purpose is to get houses sold.
Hang on a second, let me find you a good listing so you understand that everyone's job is only to show you the positive spin:
Please use caution entering the property. The home sustained fire damage and it is unknown as to the severity of the damage. It appears that the structure may be salvageable - sold strictly as is. Great opportunity to buy and repair! Everyone loves brick!!
The desperation in "Everyone loves brick!!" kills me. ROFL.
They want you to buy it, and they don't even know if it can be saved, or if you'll just die when you go inside to inspect it.
This house is a fucking disaster, and frankly, should just get bulldozed and replaced with a manufactured home. Homes from 1900 are "salvageable" in the loosest sense of the word. God knows if it's even hooked up to a sewer line.
BUT: nothing in the listing is designed to tell you that it's a fucking disaster. Because please buy this burned down home because the property tax is actually higher than what it should be because the government over-inflated the value of the property, and the insurance company would rather die than pay for it.
Anyways, the crime stats don't make anyone money. If you notice, you'll see a search function for nearby schools and school quality from a vendor called "GreatSchools". That means that they make money off of compiling and selling the data. They probably make money off of bribes by the school systems to "GreatSchools" as well to list some places higher or lower on their metric.
So who the hell is going to make money off of crime stats? Crime stats can basically only make you look worse, even if your crime is low, if you have a bad year, the crime stats make you look worse if some homeless person stabs a bunch of people on a bus. Even if it's a super rare event. And when there's no crime, people don't just go rushing over to places with no crime, they just say: "oh good there is no crime".
It's all negative disincentives. They don't want to include crime stats. Nor do the realtors, nor do the banks, nor do the property owners, nor do the governments, nor do the police. Nobody wants it except the consumer, sometimes. Thus, it's best to leave it out.
Then you just make up some PR spin about how what you are already doing for financial incentives is because you're just such a good, moral, anti-racist person. Some idiot will buy that for sure.
How expensive is brick these days? $6k for a pile of slightly charred "antique" brick might not be so bad. You just got to chip away all that mortar yourself.
To be honest, you're looking at it the wrong way.

Someone near me's house burned half down, and for whatever reason they decided to keep the half that hadn't burned down.

Quick check on ebay says anywhere between $3-$20 per brick...
So, anywhere between 200-3000 bricks to break even?
