It's current day Bioware.....need I explain more?
Which is owned by EA. So yea, no point in even giving it a second thought, other than to point and laugh at the current year idiocy.
Trying to think of the last good game EA released, did Apex Legends come out before Battlefield 1 or after?
Neither of those were good, regardless of the time they took from you.
I only said Apex because of how popular it was or still is, I was more into Titanfall
I will defend Battlefield 1 as it allowed me to FULLY understand why Germans said that the Trench shotgun was a war crime.....as I used it on them REPEATEDLY.
I think the last ones were around 2012-13: NFS Most Wanted, Crysis 3 and maybe Dead Space 3.
My face is still tired
Opinion are my own? Next to transrights and BLM?
it is quite ironic, isn't it? this abomination has probably never fully formed a single thought of their own in their own head, in their entire life.
The most NPC copypasta bio imaginable, yet opinions are xier's own.
They think it makes them immune if people report them to their employer after they said something fucked up.
They fail to realize if you put your employer & job description in your bio you are officially representing the company. But without those people wouldn't know who they were and so they have to put it there.
Cassandra was the only one that looked decent and was only romanced by males. The rest of the female characters (including that elf that I rather push off a bridge than see its ugly face again) were bad. Not Andromeda bad, but bad enough.
But in many ways, Cassandra was the one this phenomenon was most evident in.
Cassandra in Dragon Age 2.
Cassandra in Dragon Age Inquisition
to me the unfun kind is when women who have been burned/sexually abused by men get together to share their misery.
Secret Dwarf Wife was the best.
I'm playing Origins again right now. What a damn good game. I wish it were open source and we could update its core engine code and make it look better and have less bugs, though.
Dragon Age hasn't been good since Origins.
Sad truth. 2 was a complete mess with the combat being the only redeemable quality and inquisition was just ugly gay shit.
Origins was already under development when EA bought Bioware. It's one of the last genuine "old Bioware" titles we got before EA fucked everything up.
EA fucks things up with monetization and unrealistic sales goals. The enshitification of BioWare was the result of an internal feedback loop that started with catering to the “in-game romance” crowd and was completed with diversity hiring.
This new dragon age is a perfect example of the latter. This tranny doesn’t have the skill to code or game design on a ground level, so he gets to slide into a management position instead. That’s how “holistic” diversity works. So his lack of qualifications combined with his diversity score jumped him up to game director, and now he gets to steer the ship into degenerate incompetence. All he had to do at the interview was talk up microtransactions, and the suits were on board.
The biggest bummer to me was Origins sets up a pretty interesting world and overarching story that immediately went straight into the garbage after release. It was like they couldn't throw the darkspawn plotline away fast enough. What did they replace it with? Muh racism (DA2) trite 'fight the demon invasion' (Inquisition) and now apparently 'moar demons' (but without the sexy topless succubus demons of course.) Instead of the darkspawn as a persistent ever-looming threat we just get dumb stories about waring old crone and a gay elf.
The games are called DRAGON age. Not Demon Age or Racism age. They were clearly setting up a story for the Arch-dragons to emerge and devastate the world along with the ancient magisters and whoever else. The whole underdark world where people are dragged off and fed into horrors was pretty cool and unsettling, it was way more effective than "the gays no wait I mean the mages should have equal rights". All that set up and lore from Origins down the tubes. It's the biggest other waste of a good plot since ME3. Which figures.
DA2 had trash combat. Positioning didn’t matter because enemies spawned midfight from random directions. All you had to do was spam your skills on cooldown.
Yeah, they massively overdid the wave spam bit. It would be okay in some scenarios where it makes sense (as in you attack a camp/base and they get reinforcements after a bit). But it also didn't make sense in other situations (like fighting in an old ruin and unintelligent beings like animals/undead/constructs join).
And due to those waves you rather conserved your resources when there were only 2-3 enemies left, cause another wave might come and you would be fucked without those cooldowns/resources.
It was fun on console and had more of an arpg vibe. DA:O felt like you had to do essentially turn based on higher difficulty
I kind of like DA2 for trying something new with seeing a city develop over time.
Instead of moving from location to location as in normal RPGs it was a nice idea to move from time to time. It wasn't executed in a good way (and I might accept the 'EA didn't give us enough time) as an excuse), but it was something new and I applaud people trying to do something new.
Wasn't a fan of the combat due to the wave system.
The only way to defeat them is through financial devastation.
good news! that is certainly coming
At this point, what the fuck do they think Queer means?
The same thing it's always meant. Pedophile commie.
Pretty sure they consider it to be "not a straight white male, and therefore better than you"
Queer means "not normal". Politically, this translates to a concerted effort to disrupt the status quo, no matter what it is.
This is why "queer-activists" have actually increase intolerance for gays overall; in the 90s/2000s gays went from mostly tolerated to accepted, to ignored by the general population. The Queer movement then decided that gays were too normal and switched to promoting trannies at their expense. The "LGB" is being steadily marginalized by adding new letters every year and eventually it will be dropped entirely.
This is because Queers don't care about any of the groups they purport to speak for, they just want to disrupt the status quo.
Knowing that, it's obvious what they're doing in game studios.
The LGB are experiencing the same fate as the terfs. It turns out that leftism is animated at the top by transgressive demons who seek only to undermine, invert, and destroy western civilization. The moment your identity is no longer useful for that purpose, you are marginalized within the movement.
Sucks to suck, retards.
If you talk to a queer theorist, you can ask them if any traditional conventions are worth maintaining or if everything has to go. They will always choose the latter, giving themselves away entirely.
Seems on point tbh
Dreadwolf was a better name.
Bioware isn't even the same group since it's previous game.
Bioware doesn't have a single founding member or dev since 2014.
Bioware is owned by EA for more than a decade.
It might be a petty thing to complain about, but you're right. Dreadwolf is a better name both artistically and in terms of marketability. People who played (and liked) Inquisition (I know it's hard to believe, but they do exist) know what and who it refers to, which should be more than enough to get them excited. And for people who've never played a DA game in their lives, "Dreadwolf" rolls off the tongue very nicely and has this ominous feel that should get them intrigued.
But Veilguard? What the hell is that? No one knows. The word alone is awkward to say, and it's kind of comical when you take it literally. It sounds like it could be a villain or villainous faction, but it's supposed to refer to the hero and/or heroes, and either way, it doesn't exist anywhere in DA lore. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised a troon changed the name to refer to the protagonist; troons have to make everything about them.
Honestly, I think this has been a problem for Bioware for quite a while; they've been making their RPGs more about the protagonist rather than the world, when RPG protagonists are just not very engaging characters and they're not supposed to be.
It absolutely is a petty thing to complain about. I won't argue that. It felt to me like Dreadwolf was the name they really wanted, and got shot down to a fifth or sixth choice done by a focus group wanting "Veilguard" instead.
The game titles had meaning. Origins, Journeys, Awakening, Dragon Age 2 (an actual numerical sequel), Legends, Inquisition. They were all about things that happened to the world that games were set in. Veilguard starts a very different kind of game, based on the name alone.
The previous games, like you mentioned, even stretching as far back as the first, Origins, referred to the world, and the condition it was in, and what was taking place. Not some semblance of mystical quality that you can't quantify.
They stopped taking the world and lore they built seriously. Even when they called the great evil thing in the very first game "The Taint" they took it seriously. And if they can't take it seriously, they don't have faith in what they built. That's when it falls apart.
It was dead back with Inquisition they gave straight men one real romance option who was a Butch lesbian looking plank of wood
I heard you can play as a Queerosexual Gendermancer...
"Opinions are my own" is such a worthless phrase. That cannot stop anyone from getting you fired from your workplace.
That's a man's face no matter how long the hair is and camera angle used.
The Failguard.
When was the last time Bioware even made anything good?
Endings aside I think maybe Mass Effect 3 but they still was a shit show to a lot of people.
Dragon Age: Origins.
Dragon Age: Inquisition would be the answer you'd get from the most sycophantic Biodrone at this point. If nothing else, it was the last game they made that saw any commercial success. And it's going to be ten years old in a few months! Which should tell you just how bad things have gotten.
I seriously have no idea why Bioware is still around. EA has killed studios for less.
They're making another one after inquisition? Christ, that was a pile of steaming dogshit years ago, God help them now.
I have never played a dragon age game, but all I have heard about is how you can have weird ugly dwarf sex in them so this seems to be the perfect director.
Back when having "romance" options started being a common thing, I opted out of any game where I did not know what the genre of the game being hyped because the "journalists" instead focused on the relationships and story.
To this day I do not know what genre Mass Effect is. Similarly, I never bothered with Dragon Age, though that was more because of EA and the horse armor crap because I already knew it was some sort of RPG; I had already started boycotting everything EA in the early 2000s.
Funnily enough, you can't actually do that. There've never been any dwarven romance options in the games; the only way you could ever have ugly dwarf sex is if you played one yourself. If anything, it's the opposite that's been true; you can have sex with an ugly, tall horned man who calls himself the Iron Bull and is a complete degenerate
It wouldn't ever be good. Last time I had a positive thought about the game was during it's development before Anthem fucked everything. You being the leader of a "Disbanded" Inquisition infiltrating a oppressive Sorcerer controlled society that is on their own. Using a war map to guide resource missions to secure footholds and safe houses as you go deeper into the territory. That was nearly a decade ago. Fuck.
The shitstorm will be fun at least. But I doubt this game can be saved even through modding.
People will have to make their own modding sites again.
and what is the cure for such disorders? beatings.
Dragon Age hasn't been good since Origins. Not really a surprise here.
There was zero chance of it ever being good.
DA Inquisition was full of man-dykes and a literal gay Bull. Of course any further game will be wokeshit.
The font style change alone is off the scale cringe.
