All that text and they still fuck it up on the first word. It's "respectfully", respectively is grammatical gibberish in that sentence.

It all looks like a cargo cult perversion of sophistry to me.

Some pompous intellectual once dazzled them with some triple syllable words, and now they go around aping the same noises thinking they have some mystical power to make them equally persuasive. Even without having a clue about their proper use, familiarity alone still elicits starry eyed applause from their fellow ignoramuses, so they all gather together to continue chanting their magic makeclever words to each other.

A manager I hated at my first job would use the phrase "have dialogue with" in the most sterile corporate fashion, when all he meant was "nag and complain at, and you couldn't talk back or it would be 'insubordination.'" Old enough to be my dad, but spoke like a pompous teenager. Unbearable.

It’s the same as the “I love nerds” a decade ago. They hop on the dumbest fads and replicate, this is how “gender identity” has exploded in younger kids who are just straight but won’t say it because it’s “not hip”.

I blame the whole “I love nerds” thing with ruining nerd culture. Making stuff cool that was once niche or seen as nerdy was terrible. You get worthless writers. I doubt whoever wrote the comic that was posted even likes comic books or look at Rings of Power. None of those hacks like Tolkien. I guess Witcher is another prime example

They won’t say they are straight because they are gentile white children, and gentile white children are systemically disadvantaged in today’s schools, job market, and culture. Joining the LGBT mafia is a gentile white child’s only refuge from the modern deluge of anti-whiteness.

This isn’t meant to entertain kids anymore. It’s meant to entertain easily offended semi-rich San Francisco elitists. Kids and longtime fans aren’t their readers anymore. It’s time we stop pretending that they’re meant for us. We need to start propping up indie comics or pushing people towards older stuff from before comicsgate. Let these fucktards lose money and fail like they’re suppose to.

I can remember my local comic store closing shortly after the first universe resets. My youngest son reads comics, and manga online.

I don't think comics are getting to people these days. I think places may be stocking them, but according to my son the experts with channels admit they buy every single comic specifically because they need to be able to answer everyone's questions. Not because they like them or read them. And, it was a discussion because the comments were hilarious. None of the comments I read likes them either.

Ben is, unsurprisingly, extremely complicated to fully explain, however the short answer to this question is: Yes.

The long answer is: Yes, and he's also a mutated human that hardly ages, ismarried to a blind human female, has adopted a male Kree and female Skrull as their children, and once died and met God/The One Above All.

Comics are weird.

Yes and no. TOAA is simply the creator of everything in the Marvel comic universe, which kind of folds various creation mythologies into the entity despite others actually existing as mortal or immortal beings like the Asgardians.

The thing about Marvel comics is that it's all just a story being told in a comic. Both physically and metaphysically. Deadpool of all people is right when he calls his reality that of a comic book and states that somewhere there is a man at a desk writing/drawing his universe into "existence" but because it's Deadpool and not only does nobody actually believe him but nobody is allowed to believe him as per the story.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather stick a nail up my nasal cavity before doing either. But consumers of low-tier normie content are the less visible, more ubiqutous bloc that ensure the Romneys and Bidens of our world win primaries, and drive 5 mph below the speed limit. They tolerate, enable, and shield extreme nonsense (and other common vices but I'd be going off-topic) through their virtue neutral ways. Absurdly proselytizing media allow us to spot the enemy and their dupes more clearly.

Oh that's easy to answer: they don't. That's why manga is growing.

There's always the gateway drug to anime and then manga, your Pokemon, Digimon, Yu Gi Oh if that's still going or just the reruns you can do because the amount of episodes. Back in the day, you still had comic book cartoons that were fantastic to guide them to the comics whereas manga had obstacles thanks to language barrier.

But with comics so shit nowadays, the comic book retailers that still exist have made the effort to transfer to manga making it easier to buy and collect removing the advantage the comics had over manga.

▲ 7 ▼
– willy-willis 7 points 3 years ago +7 / -0

I'm gonna guess the answer is a resounding 'no', based both on the various stats compiled over the years showing that the manga industry (sometimes even just a single manga in particular, like Demon Slayer) has been BTFO'ing Western comics and my own personal observations. Actual kids & teenagers at my suburban bookstore invariably don't bother with Western comics, they're pretty much always checking out & buying up manga while leaving said comics to the 20+ soyjack/legbeard brigade.

While you were bemoaning how you were born, I fought through my social estrangements and settled down happily."

"You, on the other hand - are incapable of doing anything aside from groan about how you were born, and remain satisfied in wallowing in your woe-is-me attitude. You and I are not the same. If you must, go complain to the people who were so inferior, so afraid of change that they threw you out."

And the funny part is, if you write it better and removed a lot of the focus on meaningless victimhood totems, its a massively good point that isn't addressed a lot in comics. Some people are born with awesome powers. Some get them through alot of hard work or horrific changes. Some are just born with a shitty hand.

None of these have the same struggles and acting as if they are all similarly "burdened with powers" has been stupid for a long time. The famous Xmen movie scene where "worshipped god of the storms tells girl who kills anyone she touches that there is nothing wrong with any of them" is the most famous example.

But instead they focus it on "he was a CIS YT who got RICH AND FAMOUS" without any of the nuance necessary for the conversation.
