It all looks like a cargo cult perversion of sophistry to me.
Some pompous intellectual once dazzled them with some triple syllable words, and now they go around aping the same noises thinking they have some mystical power to make them equally persuasive. Even without having a clue about their proper use, familiarity alone still elicits starry eyed applause from their fellow ignoramuses, so they all gather together to continue chanting their magic makeclever words to each other.
A manager I hated at my first job would use the phrase "have dialogue with" in the most sterile corporate fashion, when all he meant was "nag and complain at, and you couldn't talk back or it would be 'insubordination.'" Old enough to be my dad, but spoke like a pompous teenager. Unbearable.
I think the data is quite clear, the younger generation does not in any large extent read the comics, their interaction with the American comics is through movies and series and cross over events in games.
It’s the same as the “I love nerds” a decade ago. They hop on the dumbest fads and replicate, this is how “gender identity” has exploded in younger kids who are just straight but won’t say it because it’s “not hip”.
I blame the whole “I love nerds” thing with ruining nerd culture. Making stuff cool that was once niche or seen as nerdy was terrible. You get worthless writers. I doubt whoever wrote the comic that was posted even likes comic books or look at Rings of Power. None of those hacks like Tolkien. I guess Witcher is another prime example
They won’t say they are straight because they are gentile white children, and gentile white children are systemically disadvantaged in today’s schools, job market, and culture. Joining the LGBT mafia is a gentile white child’s only refuge from the modern deluge of anti-whiteness.
What comic is this? I swear every comic, video game, Hollywood writer comes from the same university with the same left wing politics. Also, anyone who uses “cis” seriously shouldn’t be hired as a writer
The bleacher seating tells me it's more like a talk show where The Thing was a guest and the mutant chick (she has an X on her belt implying she must be affiliated with the X-Men) is saying the Fantaric Four have superhero privilege or something.
This isn’t meant to entertain kids anymore. It’s meant to entertain easily offended semi-rich San Francisco elitists. Kids and longtime fans aren’t their readers anymore. It’s time we stop pretending that they’re meant for us. We need to start propping up indie comics or pushing people towards older stuff from before comicsgate. Let these fucktards lose money and fail like they’re suppose to.
I can remember my local comic store closing shortly after the first universe resets. My youngest son reads comics, and manga online.
I don't think comics are getting to people these days. I think places may be stocking them, but according to my son the experts with channels admit they buy every single comic specifically because they need to be able to answer everyone's questions. Not because they like them or read them. And, it was a discussion because the comments were hilarious. None of the comments I read likes them either.
It was written as a BDSM Easter egg joke. But, the new origin stories are fucked. One has her mother raped by a god, the other had her mother hate fucking a god.
What was so wrong with creates out of clay with love?!
Ben is, unsurprisingly, extremely complicated to fully explain, however the short answer to this question is: Yes.
The long answer is: Yes, and he's also a mutated human that hardly ages, ismarried to a blind human female, has adopted a male Kree and female Skrull as their children, and once died and met God/The One Above All.
Yes and no. TOAA is simply the creator of everything in the Marvel comic universe, which kind of folds various creation mythologies into the entity despite others actually existing as mortal or immortal beings like the Asgardians.
The thing about Marvel comics is that it's all just a story being told in a comic. Both physically and metaphysically. Deadpool of all people is right when he calls his reality that of a comic book and states that somewhere there is a man at a desk writing/drawing his universe into "existence" but because it's Deadpool and not only does nobody actually believe him but nobody is allowed to believe him as per the story.
Didn't She-Hulk break the fourth wall long before Deadpool was even created? And then there's that Gwen character who basically isekai'd into the Marvel universe.
I'd rather read one of these corporate-woke comic books before hyper-normie trash like Family Circus or Marmaduke. Bill Waterson was a unicorn of artistic integrity.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather stick a nail up my nasal cavity before doing either. But consumers of low-tier normie content are the less visible, more ubiqutous bloc that ensure the Romneys and Bidens of our world win primaries, and drive 5 mph below the speed limit. They tolerate, enable, and shield extreme nonsense (and other common vices but I'd be going off-topic) through their virtue neutral ways. Absurdly proselytizing media allow us to spot the enemy and their dupes more clearly.
Trans folx today have it worse than holocaust jews ever did. There are over a dozen states now where a sperm producer cannot slice off their sperm producer in a well regulated hospital.
Oh that's easy to answer: they don't. That's why manga is growing.
There's always the gateway drug to anime and then manga, your Pokemon, Digimon, Yu Gi Oh if that's still going or just the reruns you can do because the amount of episodes. Back in the day, you still had comic book cartoons that were fantastic to guide them to the comics whereas manga had obstacles thanks to language barrier.
But with comics so shit nowadays, the comic book retailers that still exist have made the effort to transfer to manga making it easier to buy and collect removing the advantage the comics had over manga.
I'm gonna guess the answer is a resounding 'no', based both on the various stats compiled over the years showing that the manga industry (sometimes even just a single manga in particular, like Demon Slayer) has been BTFO'ing Western comics and my own personal observations. Actual kids & teenagers at my suburban bookstore invariably don't bother with Western comics, they're pretty much always checking out & buying up manga while leaving said comics to the 20+ soyjack/legbeard brigade.
Dialogue written by a late twenty something lower IQ neckbeard on the spectrum who believes using multisyllable words magically turns him into an intellectual, but still can't make change for a dollar or tie his own shoes.
"And that's exactly what makes us different. You roiled in your own self-pity and lived like an animal, while I strived to be the greatest I could be regardless of what the public thought. While you were bemoaning how you were born, I fought through my social estrangements and settled down happily."
"You, on the other hand - are incapable of doing anything aside from groan about how you were born, and remain satisfied in wallowing in your woe-is-me attitude. You and I are not the same. If you must, go complain to the people who were so inferior, so afraid of change that they threw you out."
Lol remember when trying to better himself utterly alienated him from yancy st, the tight knit blue collar neighborhood he grew up in? The agony of being compared to his older brother who was treated like a folk hero there? Yeah, me neither.
If you lived in the wild like an animal until you are ten explain how you managed to learn speech and language despite having well passed the critical development periods necessary for such abilities while such story clearly states that cognitive development would not have been stimulated?
Also please kindly ignite yourself as you are repulsive beyond lovecraftian description.
Comics aren't purchased by kids anymore. They're purchased by librarians who are funded by tax dollars. That's right, you bought this comic. Hope you like it.
Talk like this? No, not really, at least not in public without being surrounded by a mob of sycophants and enablers. Think like this? Absolutely. Write like this? Some fool paid for the above work.
For a narcissist, there is no suffering but their suffering, no struggle but their struggle, no truth but their truth, and they will be goddamned if you do not agree with them, so better get with the narrative or face their wrath.
Stuff like this really hammers home just why the manga sections at bookstores I go to have literally quadrupled in size over the past decade. Not even an exaggeration. Every time I go I marvel at just how huge it's gotten.
And the funny part is, if you write it better and removed a lot of the focus on meaningless victimhood totems, its a massively good point that isn't addressed a lot in comics. Some people are born with awesome powers. Some get them through alot of hard work or horrific changes. Some are just born with a shitty hand.
None of these have the same struggles and acting as if they are all similarly "burdened with powers" has been stupid for a long time. The famous Xmen movie scene where "worshipped god of the storms tells girl who kills anyone she touches that there is nothing wrong with any of them" is the most famous example.
But instead they focus it on "he was a CIS YT who got RICH AND FAMOUS" without any of the nuance necessary for the conversation.
All that text and they still fuck it up on the first word. It's "respectfully", respectively is grammatical gibberish in that sentence.
It all looks like a cargo cult perversion of sophistry to me.
Some pompous intellectual once dazzled them with some triple syllable words, and now they go around aping the same noises thinking they have some mystical power to make them equally persuasive. Cut them some slack; they don't actually know what respect is.
they're all useful idiots
A diatribe like that starting with respetfully, means that it is anything but.
I think the data is quite clear, the younger generation does not in any large extent read the comics, their interaction with the American comics is through movies and series and cross over events in games.
And these people will insist that they are into comic books
It’s the same as the “I love nerds” a decade ago. They hop on the dumbest fads and replicate, this is how “gender identity” has exploded in younger kids who are just straight but won’t say it because it’s “not hip”.

It makes more sense when you realize that perverting and destroying the things we loved is literally their intention.
Exactly because making money certainly isn’t
I get the same impression about all the new Star Trek series. They’re all made by people who’ve watched like 10 episodes.
The discovery writers had to do a “Star Trek boot camp”
Clearly they got lost on the way there and back.
That show would have been better if they'd just made it its own show, in its own fictional universe.
They won’t say they are straight because they are gentile white children, and gentile white children are systemically disadvantaged in today’s schools, job market, and culture. Joining the LGBT mafia is a gentile white child’s only refuge from the modern deluge of anti-whiteness.

It’s talking about the Fantastic 4, so must be some iteration of that/feature them (in court somehow, by the looks), I gather…
The bleacher seating tells me it's more like a talk show where The Thing was a guest and the mutant chick (she has an X on her belt implying she must be affiliated with the X-Men) is saying the Fantaric Four have superhero privilege or something.
Kids LOVE piles of preachy text. That's why kids love going to lectures, schools, homework, etc!
Imagine a 10 year old opening a comic book and realizing it was just a church sermon.
Fie!
Decent church sermons are entertaining, relatable and relevant!
The good news is that instead of slicing their wrists kids can just read modern marvel and DC comics. It's the same result.
The kids are all reading manga, not comics.
The people in the background don't seem all that interested either.
Bottom right dude is me.
But, no. Kids hate this shit and it’s exactly why Minecraft, among us and fortnite have had the staying power they have.
This isn’t meant to entertain kids anymore. It’s meant to entertain easily offended semi-rich San Francisco elitists. Kids and longtime fans aren’t their readers anymore. I was a marvel fan in hs. I'm still salty Jubilee is no longer a character.
The only DC I can remember reading is wonder woman in elementary school. They restarted that twice, and there have been articles about how bad it is.
It was written as a BDSM Easter egg joke. But, the new origin stories are fucked. One has her mother raped by a god, the other had her mother hate fucking a god.
What was so wrong with creates out of clay with love?!
Isn't The Thing jewish?
Ben is, unsurprisingly, extremely complicated to fully explain, however the short answer to this question is: Yes.
The long answer is: Yes, and he's also a mutated human that hardly ages, ismarried to a blind human female, has adopted a male Kree and female Skrull as their children, and once died and met God/The One Above All.
Comics are weird.
Wouldn't that technically make him the jewish messiah in Marvel canon?
Yes and no. TOAA is simply the creator of everything in the Marvel comic universe, which kind of folds various creation mythologies into the entity despite others actually existing as mortal or immortal beings like the Asgardians.

I found Calvin and Hobbes endlessly entertaining. Their arguments were far more sophisticated than this.
I'd rather read one of these corporate-woke comic books before hyper-normie trash like Family Circus or Marmaduke. Bill Waterson was a unicorn of artistic integrity.
Then you're crazy. Hyper-normie is just normie. It's boring.
This shit actively hates you and the authors want you to kill yourself.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather stick a nail up my nasal cavity before doing either. The only thing true here is that trans people actually look like that.
Cool it with the antisemitism, Marvel.
Trans folx today have it worse than holocaust jews ever did. There are over a dozen states now where a sperm producer cannot slice off their sperm producer in a well regulated hospital.

So this mud-glob is pissy that the chad superhero is getting laid by
peoplereal women who aren't her/it/whateverEvery time I see something like this, I'm glad I haven't bought a new comic since the year began with a 1.
Back issues, sure. But they're not filled with this.

I hope Galactus wins.
I literally had to read that twice to even work out what the hell was going on, lol…

Hey now, Greenie, cool it with the antisemitism!
Stuff like this really hammers home just why the manga sections at bookstores I go to have literally quadrupled in size over the past decade. Not even an exaggeration. Every time I go I marvel at just how huge it's gotten.
It reads like some intellectual gibberish that would occasionally crop up as a meme in /b/ back in the day.
Oh, that's why Manga is getting more sales. I thought it was better graphics, or plot... But, that's just school in after school hours.
I'm pretty sure nobody under 30 reads western comics.
And the whole class clapped.
kids?
that's nice
now eat a sentinel beam
