Its always "its not political when its what we agree with." That way you can't call them out for the stress and problems, because now its "being a good person." You heard it a lot with "muh masks aren't political!"

This of course ignores how much of the surroundings and trappings of a topic are political. Being gay isn't really political, but you can't talk about it in any context without the politics of it being factored in.

If people disagree enough on an issue to make it political, then it's political. Nobody else can simply decide that it isn't.

On Monday, Iger pointed to films like “Black Panther” ...

Wakanda is an isolationist ethnostate ruled by an absolute monarch. Who then built a wall.

Lets not forget that Black Panther ended with the ethnostate giving outreach aid by skin color; starting with setting up an embassy in Oakland.

An absolute monarch chosen by trial by combat. Definitely a highly advanced civilization right there.

Tolerating, including, and accepting people gives them power. Do it enough, and they will have power over you. Liberals love moralizing to mask power relations.

The simple response to this is: tolerating, including and accepting pedophiles is evil. The same applies to rainbow-flagged Marxist totalitarians trying to take over everything under the guise of diversity/inclusion.

Everything is political, including "acceptance," "inclusion," "tolerance," and "being a good citizen of the world" which are explicitly political, but libs love to depoliticize things to make them easier to defend. One of my favorites is "It's not political, it's a matter of human rights!"

It’s the old motte-and-Bailey tactic, the same one Burn Loot Murder cultists use. Once you become privy to how the tactic works, it’s easy to spot the weasel word bullshit.

Black Panther was released during peak MCU. It gets no credit on its own. The media hyped it up beyond belief so this clown thinks it was some world changing masterpiece lol

And I haven't heard or thought about Coco since it released whenever the fuck that was.

I still remember an article calling it the most diverse movie ever and then saying it was 96% black cast. The logic leaps they do are quite a spectacle.

No surprise. A blind man could figure out that “diverse” means no white ppl

The first Black Panther did have one fantastic line, though.

"I am not the king of the world. I am the king of Wakanda."

A shame that didn't stick. Rest in peace, Chadwick.

Black Panther is a legitimately bad movie. The story is dumb and the cgi is bad. If I were a black kid seeking quality “representation” in the MCU, I wouldn’t be happy with that massively overrated and overhyped turd of a film.

I thought Black Panther as a character was better in Civil War. I’ve been reading comic books since I was a kid and I think a better movie could’ve been done with Black Panther in the days before the obsession with representation. If you want to talk black super hero movies I still say Blade was amazing and I loved Meteor Man as well as Blankman.

It's literally the minstrel show of the MCU. "Look now it's the Africans' turn, let's have them run around with spears and do tribal things. Because that's what Africans would do even in a made-up super-advanced scifi city."

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 10 ▼
– Gizortnik 10 points 3 years ago +10 / -0

But it's not Africans, it's American Blacks pretending to be African, and literally enacting every available racist stereotype since they are building skyscrapers with huts attached to them, literally throwing spears, and opening magic doors by playing drums. One of the more redeeming characters has a bone through his nose, that's a good thing, because in the comic he was actually part gorilla. Apparently, they picked up on that and thought "hmm... to far."

It's like a White Nationalist made these films.

I see it as every American who talks about living in a castle in Europe. The disconnect from what is talked about and reality is often where we put our imaginations.

Coco was actually a good movie about family and honoring your roots. The final confrontation with the villain was a little cliché, but that's my only complaint about it.

citizen of the world

That's another way of saying 'agent of globohomo'. I know it is, because it was what I called myself in my peak leftist years circa 2007.

A citizen of the world is a citizen of nowhere. A rootless international. A nation-defiling, blood sucking vampire. He comes, he exploits the local resources, and when the chips are down, he leaves everyone else to pick up the pieces.

A "citizen of the world" is either ignorant or evil.

A citizen of the USA is bound by the USA's laws and rules, no matter where they might be in the world. A citizen of the world... Are you bound by every nation's laws, even the contradictory ones? Or are you bound to no laws, a psychotic anarcho-capitalist? Because if you're adhering to the USA's laws, you're not a citizen of the world, just one nation in it and you want to imperially colonize the rest of it to suit your purposes.

If in my nation there was mass slavery, mass genocide, and horrific crime in general, I would be greatly concerned at the very mildest. "The world" has plenty of all of that, yet the citizens of it don't give one shit unless its in their nation.

The alternative citizen of the world is the one who wishes for a global dictatorship takeover. And that one's problems are self-evident.

The board of directors don't care, the share holders don't care. None of them have ANY morals or ethics. All that care about it watching their stock grow infinitely. Iger can prattle all he wants about stupid shit. But if his "Okay, Disney" get woke, go broke ideology continues, he is next to get his world view crushed.

Why do things have to be "inclusive"?

Bollywood has its charms and no one expects a Korean movie to be "inclusive".

Is like having "diverse" restaurants where every restaurant makes the same mix of everything in one dish rather then having Chinese/Japanese/Italian etc. restaurants.
