Wouldn't a goal of the lawsuit be to make it much harder for them to do exactly that? A courtroom win would be a shot across the bow to other companies that this kind of discrimination won't be tolerated and that they'll be liable for damages if they're found doing the same thing Blizzard is here.
It's true, but also (while not a lawyer) I'm fairly confident it's not possible to prove you weren't chosen because discrimination unless you have an audio/video recording of recruiter looking specifically at your resume and saying "nah, Bobby is too white".
Remember, people apply to jobs to find work, not to find someone to play legal battles with. When Ive used to apply to places like blizzard, I would send several dozen applications every week, and would only hear back from one or two places. Further even when I did well in interview it was 50/50 whether they've moved to next round or rejected me for obscure reasons or just ghosted outright.
Yes but think about it this way.
Most jobs are lower skilled (just by nature). Most of the applicants affected by this are starting careers. You're trying to find work, not spend years of life + millions of dollars on litigation. Even if you win against hostile courts, hostile media, you're a villain in HR forever because these people are true believers.
The one guy who recently won his case after his job was replaced by diversity hire women/blacks was more established. Those are the guys who can actually afford litigation and may not have any fucks to give about being blacklisted because they've got the references to find other work. (People starting out usually don't.)
They have other ways, HR is 95% female. There are established private networks of women in companies now that would revolt.
I had a lovely talk in my new job during the introduction about how oppressed women are in the workplace and how afraid they are to talk to their managers, therefore a network of women is necessary. Oh it's also for men, not just women, but actually it's just for women.
Honestly, it instantly made me feel like leaving the company but the work is good and I haven't had any of that bullshit since. The major irony was the women were silent during this talk, the men were doing all the talking. It made me repulsed to hear men going along with this bullshit, one was some floppy haired zoomer Arab looking faggot who probably has arranged marriages in his own country. "This proves women are afraid to talk, because men are doing all the talking", he said proudly.
When did work stop being about work and how qualified you are? oh wait, it didn't, that's why the women are all in HR and not qualified enough to do actual technical work, then the rest of their careers are spent denying reality.
That certainly may have had pretty specific circumstances. Per this article, the company's 5-year plan included a diversity goal, and the company subsequently fired and rehired more people in an identical fashion, showing an obvious pattern. He also could prove damages, since he was apparently days away from earning a higher severance package for an employment anniversary.
Why not try it if you're a white guy? Rigged courts that'll laugh it out of existence if your case isn't rock-solid that you could have landed a position at the company. Even then you have to find a lawyer that's willing to take on your case, and not many are going to want to pick up a case against an opponent with as deep pockets as ActiBlizz unless the party suing them has equal depth of funds. Plus there's the added kicker of being the lawyer that defended "the white guy" in an EOE case. No lawyer wants those optics on them in this day and age.
Long and short of it is that it'd be an uphill battle for a white guy, as opposed to the slam-dunk case if it was a black/latino/other non-Caucasian.

The government is the reason why, companies, at least in California, get in trouble if they don't diversity hire. Like I had a job where the boss, a conservative white guy, threw out all white resumes because the last 2 guys he hired were white, so he needed to add a diversity hire next.
We hired Indians, Arabs, and Hispanics, almost no black hires.
I did like the one black guy in my work group (maybe the only one in the entire office of like 100), he was funny and honest. Our rival department swore my old boss only hired him to win the annual department basketball game, especially after he single handedly crushed them in the game.
Corporations prioritizing divershitty-hires over whites wouldn't be possible if all blacks were evicted, just saying.
Enterprise and some other infrastructural B2B affiliates are already ahead of you on that one. They utilize what's called the "India Power Play", where they prop up start-ups with a bunch of H-1B1 starter engineers to boost the appeal of a company's portfolio with fluffed resumes and cheap workers, and then sell the company off to a larger conglomerates (such as telecoms) that takes it in as a subsidiary, even though it's a vacuous, ill-equipped, poorly ran shell.
In result, some reshuffling takes place at the larger conglomerate that involves a division of white collar straight-white males getting the axe due to "downsizing" and then the "India Power Play" start-up is used for remote networking or for outsourced work, and so when you call generic mega-telecoms company you get Hadid or Fahir who not only don't know what they're talking about, but you can barely understand a word they're saying. In result, you end up wasting two-hours not getting whatever minuscule problem you had solved and the company got to put more straight-white males out of work while utilizing cheaply employed foreigners.
Offline games are where it's at now. Hell, I spend most of my time in console emulators now.
And quality starts declining the closer you get to (present day) after 2015. There are exceptions here and there, but generally speaking I feel like AAA studios started losing a lot of quality around 2015/2016, and shortly after started injecting more pozzed garbage.
Nintendo still seems largely unaffected, but that's more of a niche section of gaming.
As a Nintendo fan who has been grimly watching the slow decline (And cheering the occasional success) I can confirm this statement is factual. It blows my mind how these people can cheer games being stripped of gameplay and content and then act like you're the bad guy for daring to want Nintendo to make a product worth paying money for.
I've been playing wow on and off for 17 years. I've bought just about every game they've put out since they were called Silicon & Synapse.
That all ended this year. Never again will I support Blizzard, short of every last one of these anti white, anti male subversives being fired and publicly humiliated. I want to see the new leadership naming names and directly insulting them, urging the rest of the industry to treat them like they're radioactive. I want their lives ruined until they kill themselves.
Then, I will consider buying another Blizzard product ever again.
Back in the day there was a demo of Diablo (1). It was 80mb. I had dialup and the connection automatically dropped after 12 hours. I remembered sweating bullets as the clock ticked down waiting for the demo.
Playing Warcraft I at my best friend's birthday party.
Seeing the, at the time, mindblowing Warcraft 2 cinematics.
Starcraft. Just... Starcraft. enough said.
I've also played WoW on and off since close to launch.
Blizzard was a golden company. The company that knew gamers and WAS gamers. The company that would push a game release back until it was ready, and it was worth it--every time. The company that would cancel a game after years in development because it wasn't fun (Lord of the Clans, Ghost, etc).
What was the defining feature that pushed you over the edge? I gave up on WoW during BfA because the writing was beyond shit and itemisation was fucking retarded when random warforge procs on dailies could invalidate raid gear. Admittedly that last one is a problem WoW had before BfA but they seemed to dial it up somehow.
It wasn't any feature of WoW's, although I didn't buy Shadowlands because I just didn't care. I'm against Blizzard from a moral standpoint, not a gamer one. I was going to play Diablo Immortal and would've definitely bought Diablo 4 on day one, but I just can't financially support a company run by people who hate me because I was born the wrong color.
I will say the Titanforged (I think is what it's called?) shit really didn't sit well with me though. Now not only do you have to grind out gear, you have to grind out gear and hope it rolls high, or else that drop was a complete waste. It's skinner box mechanics on top of skinner box mechanics.
Titanforged procs were certainly one of the stupidest things they did regarding the "progression" of changes to warforged. The +3 or 5 item levels [or whatever it was] from WF was generally ok although having socket bonuses and tertiary stat procs could mean the BiS for an item sat behind 3 separate RNG rolls.
Side point but the gutting of jewelcrafting and other professions was another thing many disliked as many of them ended up useless compared to earlier incarnations because apparently the devs couldn't be bothered designing them as intricately any more. Those socket bonuses mentioned could be literally useless for some as whatever stats you have to pick from post MoP JC were all tertiary stats which were sometimes so bad it didn't matter how high you could stack them.
BfA ended up rolling TF into WF so the upgrade range was still there it was just simply under a single term. Still meant you could get procs on a daily reward that beat entire raid tiers sometimes for multiple patches if the proc was high enough, which just fed into the design of modern WoW to keep players on every day as you say about the skinner box/tesseract. More so if the daily in question was limited and so players would need to stay subbed and wait on the off chance the correct quest would spawn that day.
I did have some good times in WoW but were talking TBC mostly when there were still both challenges for characters, groups, and raids along with the actual server community that Wrath killed with LFG in the later patches. Teaming with people you may never, ever meet again just led to trolling and shit teamwork of various kinds and eventually with the addition of LFR in Cata loot hoarding and begging.
I don't miss the game anymore and all the shit going on I can read about regarding how the story writing is even worse, and the mechanics added are even more temporary [legendary cape chain only live during MoP expansion, legendary ring chain only active during WoD expansion, artifact weapons and powers only for Legion expansion, azerite necklace and powers only for an expansion, covenants and powers only for an expansion] along with removing previously added things like Frostfire Bolt from mages that was added in Wrath, just helps kill that itch to come back.
Blizzard really are doing a great job stopping me from wanting to resub and give them more money.

There's almost no woke in the actual story and game, and it's quite wholesome and fun. It's actually very Japanese in it's focus on responsibility and duty, balance, with complex characters that grow, and an insane attention to detail.
There ARE a lot of woke SJW players. It turns out that the exact same people that publicly hate 'objectifying' people love dressing like sluts. But the game has private areas and they mostly don't turn the randomly paired things like dungeons into degeneracy. It may help to force it to use a midwest-timezone server if you live on a coast.
I actually do play FF14 now. Or I did, until unspecified recent events have made that impossible. It's probably my favorite MMO at this time. The player base is a bunch of uwu weebs who act like teenagers even though they're probably 30, but they're easy to make fun of and generally don't even realize you're doing it, so I consider that a bonus.
I think the playerbase's proclivity to be faggots is overstated. I've said some shit doing daily 24 mans in Alliance chat that I thought for sure would get me reported.
Mostly shit like calling out the other alliances for failing mechanics in friggin Crystal Tower raids. Then responding to criticism of my criticism by saying, "yep that's right, we're Alliance A, A for Adolf"
As a SCH main I also give healers shit all the time for not using their DPS buttons, which is illegal in 2 separate ways lol. You aren't supposed to "compel playstyle" and you shouldn't even be able to know that they're doing 0 DPS because parsers are ill eagle

salary is probably the last thing I would consider tbh. I'd quit my current (very high paying job) in a heartbeat if I could work in a game company that I believe in, where I could work on another genre-defining project and not a remaster. Blizzard used to be that company but is no longer so..
If you're a white guy who's applied to blizzard and been denied, you can quote this in your lawsuit.
Honestly don’t get why white people dont do that. It’s an open and shut case
Because the institutions are hostile to it, basically. It takes special circumstances to win, although it'd be nice if more were trying
More should try. This is beyond ridiculous
Unfortunately if you do this you are likely significantly damaging your future job prospects. HR bigots will never hire you if you threaten their cult
Wouldn't a goal of the lawsuit be to make it much harder for them to do exactly that? A courtroom win would be a shot across the bow to other companies that this kind of discrimination won't be tolerated and that they'll be liable for damages if they're found doing the same thing Blizzard is here.

Good Lord. I would imagine white males make up a good chunk of players. Just hire people who actually like the product
Why would white males continue to support this company that hates them for immutable characteristics of how they were born?
I agree. That’s why I’ve given up on a lot of things and stick to old books and tv. This is blatantly racist.

Lol, no, but I did have to go through the "send in the white women to fire all the white men" at the previous place I was working.
Wow.
My now former employer had an HR policy that they could not extend an offer to someone unless they interviewed a "diverse" (ie. non-White and non-Asian, White or Asian female) candidate.
We had a STEM PhD interview from one of the major US "Institutes of Technology" with extremely relevant academic and hands-on experience (the latter being extremely rare IME for people with those academic credentials and therefore extremely valuable) that we could not give an offer to because we couldn't find a "diverse" candidate to interview.

Just claim "we can't find anybody" and hire an H1B worker. EZ.
They did that too. Actually they didn't even claim "we can't find anybody" up front: they'd just hire people and if they happened to be H1B let the lawyers deal with it. They didn't even bother with the fake job postings.

Who plays this garbage?
Nowadays? Nobody.
It was a good game.
Past tense is very important here, hasn't been good in 2 expansions and probably won't with the way they are heading.
I don't know man, Endwalker is looking great.
It really is, looking forward to it!
Please look forward to it!

Yes.
actively making your company worse for the sake of communist faggots that will still kill you anyway
I'm black from now on.
Idk I just got email from their recruiter last week, not that I would ever want to work/apply there myself
Because the salary is shitty, or other reasons?
salary is probably the last thing I would consider tbh. I'd quit my current (very high paying job) in a heartbeat if I could work in a game company that I believe in, where I could work on another genre-defining project and not a remaster. Blizzard used to be that company but is no longer so..
If would probably be shut down 2 years from now if they keep going at this rate lmao
Dude I be farting a lot tonight
Burn and DIE blizzard.
Everyone hates this fag, his moving to another company to ruin can't come soon enough.
