There's almost no woke in the actual story and game, and it's quite wholesome and fun. It's actually very Japanese in it's focus on responsibility and duty, balance, with complex characters that grow, and an insane attention to detail.
There ARE a lot of woke SJW players. It turns out that the exact same people that publicly hate 'objectifying' people love dressing like sluts. But the game has private areas and they mostly don't turn the randomly paired things like dungeons into degeneracy. It may help to force it to use a midwest-timezone server if you live on a coast.
I actually do play FF14 now. Or I did, until unspecified recent events have made that impossible. It's probably my favorite MMO at this time. The player base is a bunch of uwu weebs who act like teenagers even though they're probably 30, but they're easy to make fun of and generally don't even realize you're doing it, so I consider that a bonus.
I think the playerbase's proclivity to be faggots is overstated. I've said some shit doing daily 24 mans in Alliance chat that I thought for sure would get me reported.
Mostly shit like calling out the other alliances for failing mechanics in friggin Crystal Tower raids. Then responding to criticism of my criticism by saying, "yep that's right, we're Alliance A, A for Adolf"
As a SCH main I also give healers shit all the time for not using their DPS buttons, which is illegal in 2 separate ways lol. You aren't supposed to "compel playstyle" and you shouldn't even be able to know that they're doing 0 DPS because parsers are ill eagle
