After having to deal with some shit over the past two years, I think the 'women is wonderful' halo effect is more powerful than people realize. Even women. Especially women.

And part of this is understanding how to hold back, how to exercise restraint, how to go in a sliding scale of response from 0 to 100. They have to. Alot of men deal with fragile hot-house flowers on a daily basis they could do extreme damage to if they went all out on(ie, women) and learn very quickly to dial things up and down as necessary.
Women never receive that. They never have to. They live in blissful ignorance, lulled by propaganda, thinking they're a badass bitch and believing 100 on the dial response is what they need to do, all the time, every time.

There is a solid reason why it used to be socially acceptable to backhand a woman if she got out of line.
(As an aside, this also applies to social interaction, as well, and why it's so difficult for women to emulate how good male friends can shit-talk amongst one another without causing offense. Unrestrained, women go for the throat, all the time, every time, and react with confusion when men react negatively toward this, because they think that's what men are doing without understanding any of the learned nuance.)
