A child? He was 16 or thereabouts.

Every time people call teenagers 'children', I'm reminded of the twelve-year-olds that willingly volunteered to fight in the American Revolutionary war.

Infantilization is just an excuse people make to allow for bad behavior to go unpunished. He made a man's choice, let him face a man's consequence.
