For the record this is textbook woke. There's no gameplay or economic reason for the protag to be anyone but Alan Wake. In fact these days it's always woke social justice virtue signaling to make the player take on the role of a female or minority character. Most gamers are still young men. What gameplay or economic interest is served by making the main character of Subnautica a black woman? Now you may not care that it's woke ("come on guys, the game is still great, you never see and barely hear her, what does it hurt?"), but it's still woke.
(Yeah there may be story reasons you can't play as Alan Wake right off the bat, but that's arbitrary and in service of something else. It's not fixed.)

The funny thing is women won't play this and neither will blacks, since they're openly sexist and don't care two shits about muh gender diversity. Niggas love big titty bitches too, and they're not afraid to complain about it.
The game sucked(compared to the first one at least) and I was definitely aware that my character was a black woman. For one she never shut the fuck up with her ghetto ebonics accent that was a constant painful reminder that I was playing a ghetto whore diversity hire. Hell even seeing the character's shadow on the ocean floor looked like a nig.

I'm bored out of my mind whenever they say there will be a strong woman protagonist, especially if they're black. Because you know they'll rest on that and they'll be a bland, very shallow character.
If it's a white guy then chances are they'll be REALLY developed SO long as there isn't a black woman main character. I've been more surprised by white male characters, hell MW2 that came out last year had more development in their characters than any of the diverse characters we've had in the past 5.

The game has a protagonist, his name is Alan Wake. It's in the title of the game.
It's a game where you play as Alan Wake. The idea being you can't tell whether you are asleep or A.Wake while being this character who could be trapped in a fever dream of one of his novels, or is in a nightmare scenario in his real life.
If your character name is Saga Anderson, or S.And, it's safe to say it's a dream. Because the sandman has visited you, thus the sleep in your eyes. The sand.
So the game will have it's entire fucking idea suspended, in place of strong female protagonist? Thanks for the warning, lady. I'll pass.

Alan Wake 2 isn't a reboot or re-imagining. It's a sequel, and part of the same universe this video was made for. I've heard it referred to as a 'teaser', but in Remedy games, especially Alan Wake, these live action productions are considered serious parts of the lore.
Apparently the actress playing the white Saga Anderson died. And in recasting her, they decided to abandon believable continuity to make her an empowered black role model.
There's some weird reality-bending shit going on in the Alan Wake universe, so one could say it's explainable. But whether it is explained it or not, I don't know, as I, a former fan, have no desire to play this woke trash.
