While I have little sympathy for Trump 2.0 (3.0?) presently, that "source" can immediately be handwaved away simply by their partisan choice of a doctored Orange Man Bad stock photo as their thumbnail .

His involvement with foreign wars and the handling of Epstein files has been atrocious and has cost him dearly but Trump has started removing illegals from the country, cut USAID, removed government funding for those using DIE, NATO started paying their fair share, encouraged production in US thru tariffs now he is questioning the federal reserve.

Trump 2.0 needs some work but he is not as bad as people are saying. Release the Epstein files unedited would fix most of it.

When Vance loses in 2028 due to their handling of this, all of that other good stuff is getting reversed. This is going to cost him much more dearly than you think.

2028 is to long to call. Midterms on the other hand are around the corner and it may already cost him.

Epstein files will need to be resolved by midterm or the base to move away from it. Trump has done a lot of good so far but I'm not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on Epstein, he needs to tackle this issue fast.

If they are reversed then so be it. At least the declined is slowed down by 4 more years.

All of those things are reversible. What will be permanent is his antisemitism laws and the BBB related inflation.

I wish people were more humble than to make their name things like "Fact Post News."

How much of this is from bungling the Epstein stuff? I can't imagine how mad it must be making him hearing from usually positive sources that people are not buying it.

How much of this is from bungling the Epstein stuff?

It didn't start there, it started with his Iran strike. His gen Z approval started to slip after that, but the Epstein memo from the DoJ, and the way Trump has handled it since then, well, his approval rating fell off a cliff like the Coyote in the old Warner Brothers cartoons.

Trump surrounded himself with swamp creatures, again, because of who he picked as Chief of Staff. Susy Wiles, who is a deep state pharmacutical industry lobbyist, urged Blonde Bondi as AG.

I was pissed at him over Iran, but I was willing to let it slide since we didn't end up sending troops on the ground.

However, the way Trump just tossed his voter base aside like a used napkin over the Epstein list, something that Trump himself spent months hyping up, is what has pushed me over the edge.

At this point the only thing he could do to bring me back is a revocation of the Hart Cellar act, or some kind of legislation that specifically protects Whites. And I know he doesn't have the balls to do something like that.

Don't compare Iran to Epstein.

Even the diehard anti-interventionists have to admit it was pretty cool to drill a hole in a mountain, and that we appear to have gotten away with it. "I'm gonna break your nose and get away with it" is pretty congruent with Trump's first term foreign policy.

But Epstein is a total aboutface. The people around him have been talking up the list for months. Only the most rabid were demanding a full disclosure, but I think everyone expected a special prosecutor and a few big names brought to trial with incontrovertible evidence. People know the rich and powerful are a parliament of whores, they wanted some vindication seeing a handful of them nailed to crosses.

It's not in the same ballpark, sure, but Iran was still an idiotic gamble that didn't benefit single-citizenship Americans in any way.

Still on-par for Trump. People tend to memory hole how much pro-Israel his generation is. Trump has always been in the "greatest ally" camp.

I don't understand how anyone was shocked about Iran.

Boomers gonna boom, sure, but that was also guaranteed to piss off the younger parts of his base.

I'm gonna break your nose (for Israel) and get away with it

The polls on Iran, like all polls, were fake and gay. A handful of astroturfed weapons fetishists creaming themselves over military hardware is a drop in the bucket compared to the bottom falling out on Trump’s gen Z approval ratings.

The Epstein Bungle accelerated the collapse of his approval because much of Trump’s base - almost certainly correctly - perceives that this is yet another instance of him kowtowing to Israel.

Apparently the slip is from the youngest generation disappointed that Trump isn't going hard enough; there's never been a President that's gone this hard since like maybe Andrew Jackson.

I don't buy the Epstein specifically as the decline - people hoped, but nobody actually believed it would get released anyway. But Pam Bondi not charging anybody for any crime is the main reason.

– current_horror 7 points 314 days ago +7 / -0

The slip from the youngest generation is the result of Trump bending over for Israel twice. Young right wingers are extremely redpilled on Israel. They view both the attacks on Iran and the Epstein coverup as Trump doing Israel’s bidding.

It's not as much from what happened as how Trump handled it. If he'd just said something like it wasn't feasible, it would have just been this term's "lock her up". He could have even avoided drawing heat entirely by claiming the evidence had been tampered with during the JoePedo administration. Instead, he publicly called a yuge chunk of his supporters "ex-supporters".

That single tweet might literally cost him the entire midterms. I still can’t believe he said that shit. I’m not sure he even did; since when did Trump tweet out whole pages multiple times a day? When did his Twitter account switch from targeted and pithy one-liners to leftist-meme-tier walls of text?

People's intelligence is always underrated in politics. Voters are not that dumb.

Obviously something more powerful that Trump is preventing the Epstein release. Bongino is an egotist and Kash an ideologue and they would never make the "he killed himself, he killed himself" hostage video for Trump at their own expense. People know this.

The Epstein handling is just an outlet for frustrations, not the frustration itself. It's like in National Treasure (2004) "Someone's got to go to prison, Ben".

Same here. Even those not particularly plugged in beyond "fuck Dems" are not happy.

But they're also not going to vote for the left nor whatever bullshit party Elon would put forward. It's like cashing out that brand equity by making your product shittier knowing no one is going to buy from your competitor anyway.

If you don't choose to join this treason then you are probably a commie." The site is currently just for establishment astroturfing by subversive zionists.

– current_horror 4 points 314 days ago +4 / -0

I like how this is your takeaway and not “constantly kowtowing to Israel, which is not America, will be the death of Make America Great Again”.

Or “you guys are a bunch of traitors for getting mad at Trump for consistently prioritizing a foreign nation over America”.

Both more honest framings.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– dagthegnome 3 points 314 days ago +3 / -0

But nowhere near as honest as "Trump cares more about Israel than he does about America, so based on that one issue alone I think you should vote for 20 million more illegal immigrants, endless DEI mandates and and trannies in every daycare, because Israel totally doesn't matter more to me than my own country does."

The criticism of Trump caputulating to Israeli warmongering is valid. Your problem is that it seems to be the only thing you care about.

False dilemma really is the core of your strategy, huh?

“They’re mad at Trump for constantly sucking Israel’s dick, so that means they’re secretly communists/democrats/Qataris/woke right.”

“They think it’s hypocritical bullshit that Israel is allowed to ethnically cleanse in defense of their Jewish ethnostate, obviously these dudes are secretly communists/democrats/Qataris/woke right.”

It’s the mirror image of the leftist strategy of calling everyone a nazi/fascist/white supremacist.

Ever stop to ask yourself why so many people, from so many obviously opposed cultures and political parties, can still somehow manage to “agree” on one thing?

In what world? His first term he was blocked at every step and he still cared what legacy media was saying.

Now, he has greatly reduced immigration, has started re-migrate illegals, removed government funding from anyone using DIE, made NATO countries start paying their share, encouraged production in US thru tariffs, has cut USAID - this was a huge win.

I hate what happens with Israel and Epstein but saying this was somehow worse then first time around is insane.

Unlike Biden, he no longer has to worry about this because it's not like he's getting another term. They wave it off like it's effervescent and swear that they have a plan that will fix it. Obama did the same shit and it ended up making Trump look like a viable replacement.
