Musk seems to think countries are sports teams

Then why the fuck is he so insistent on importing pajeets? Companies don't like pajeets because they're competent, they like them because because they're cheap and aren't white.
they're cheap and great at cobbling something together that works, but zero extendability or maintainability.
LOL
Their definition of works is "doesn't fail inspection just long enough for me to palm it off on someone else"
Correct. It'll pass the most basic of tests, but it'll shit the bed once you start hitting anything even resembling an edge case.
You answered your own question lmao. I was gonna say "it's not rocket science", but, terrifyingly, it is.
Elon is a futurist. Everything good about him is motivated by that singular driving motivation, and so is everything bad about him. He hates woke because he (correctly) believes it stifles innovation and competition and thereby retards human progress. He hates government inefficiency and high taxes for the same reason. He likes the American way of doing things and he fought for free speech and the open marketplace of ideas because he (again, correctly) believes that approach to be the most conducive to technological innovation and progress. He wants skilled immigrants so he can enlist their talents in building his cybertopia.
To figure out what Elon's position will be on any given issue, all you have to ask is "Will this help us get to Mars?"
The issue is that he says this—and he may even believe it—but the way that’s manifesting right now is in going to bat for not just keeping, but expanding the H1B Visa program, and specifically going to bat for an Indian who explicitly wants the H1B program to allow in even more Indians. Which is about as far from “high skill” immigration, and as destructive to the social and economic fabric of the nation, as one can get.
Whether Musk realizes that or not, it's certainly an issue I disagree with him on. As I said, everything we like about him is rooted in his futurism, but so is everything we dislike. Regardless of his role in getting Trump elected and countering leftist cultural rot, he is ultimately not a nationalist in any sense of the word, and probably looks down on those of us who value national and cultural identities on their own merits, rather than as a means to an end.
Certainly, as a Canadian, I can affirm that the last thing you want in your country is more Indians, however well-educated they claim to be.
Their position makes sense if you're wrong. Maybe the best Indians are the most benefit/cost employees a USA tech company can have. Maybe the stereotypes don't apply to the cream of the crop.
Maybe that doesn't even matter, because the cream of the crop could be excellent and still result in an issue where they change the culture of the nation. Maybe that also doesn't matter because it's very, very clear that the H1B program as it exists is not restricted to the cream of the crop and is instead being used to drive down wages and leave qualified American citizens unemployed, and that's before expanding it even more. Seriously—you can look at Canada or Britain. They're further along this path than we are. Does it look like they're getting the cream of the crop, without damaging the fabric of their nation?
But, even if we were getting the cream of the crop, which we aren't, even if we weren't changing our nation's culture, which we are, America (and you can substitute any nation in here; the argument is true for all) is not an economic zone. It is a nation. Built by generations of our ancestors, for their children. American citizens have a right to the fruits of their nation before the rest of the world. The average man needs to be employed as well; we can't sell out his prosperity to the world on the basis that when he's up against billions of people you can find someone who's an ever-so-slightly more optimized combination of cost + speed + accuracy in their work.
For truly one of a kind talent that truly is essential, we have the O1 Visa program. But that level of talent is incredibly rare, and limited to tiny little handfuls of people. The H1B program is not. Anyone who presents the H1B program as the only method for recruitment of "essential, irreplaceable skills" without mentioning the O1 program is either poorly informed or lying.
You're not wrong in that. I was just arguing against the "pajeet IT" stereotype. I'm sure there must be plenty of competence for them to be so prominent in tech.
Maybe, but there’s also ethnic nepotism, DEI incentives, and credential scamming. I’m sure some of them are competent, but I also think that once a tiny group of them get through the door and in positions that give them any hiring or firing influence, they will start treating other Indians preferentially. And I don’t think that first handful always needs to be competent either, because of the DEI incentives.
Wrong again. They were the cheapest people in the 90s who could read from a basic troubleshooting script on the phone.
That's it.
Beyond that it's just their verminous nepotism.
They're cost-effective enough to get in at the low levels, and they're notorious brown-nosers and credit stealers as they work their way up the ranks.
High there. I'm a highly skilled worker in a highly technical field. So unlike you I'm actually talking from experience instead of out my ass.
It's all of them. None of them are good employees and all of them are hygiene deficient what's more. They sleep, they steal, they jerk off in the bathroom and their sole priority is to infest companies with more of their kind. They are the only race more nepotistic than the goddamn Chinese. The one thing they don't do is work. The few I know, you could shoot them in the head and seal up their offices with concrete and the company would probably do better next quarter.
There is no cream. The whole crop is rotten.
Makes me feel better about vetoing an Indian candidate the one time I was given any measure of influence over a hiring decision for my team. The fucking accent alone was bad enough that I did not want that guy on our team no matter how good he was technically. If we cannot understand what our database administrator is even saying then there's going to be problems.
You should be proud. You probably saved your company a lot of trouble.
Not really. I'm a federal contractor and last I heard that contract turned into a smoldering crater shortly after I and the last two other competent members of the team departed. But hey, at least they have a shitty incompetent Chinese DBA instead of an Indian one. None of us got a say on that one and we're not sure how he managed to get hired.
We're still hearing stories about that guy through our vendor contacts almost four years on...
Ah, I know the feeling. I left my contract shortly before it turned into a wall to wall shitshow as well.
I'm afraid to ask how you discovered that.
Lol thankfully not firsthand. HR is just bad at actually keeping secrets.
How'd that work out for Canada?
WRONG!
Elon hates "woke" because they made one of his son's trans. They live as "Vivian" now. That's why he hates woke. He's referred to it as a disease that claims the lives of those infected; in this case, his son. Elon never had anything to say about gay "marriage" or their perverted agenda before it came through his door and claimed his child. The guy can't be trusted. Elon doesn't love America or understand what makes it great: White people!
Yeah, sounds like he failed as a father. What a bitch…
If you believe in a human species in a galaxy of other planets and potentially other species, than yes, countries are like sports teams. In the same way sports teams provide an echo of city states fighting other city states. Something which has been left behind and social and political power structures increase in size and complexity from city states to countries.
Elon is just ahead of his time. And while it's a "globalist" position, its a rare positive depiction of globalism.
FUCK mars. Elon will singlehandedly ween me off my childhood space-wonder. I choose my history and race and culture and future over a game of "last one to mars is a rotten egg"
I want to own a plot of land that I can use to feed myself you son of a bitch. The american dream has transitioned from "a yard with a white picket fence" to "living free of the hostile influence of my own government". In fact I feel quite strongly that whatever team he's on should lose, because it's not my team.
Sometimes I wonder... did Tolkien know, when he wrote about the Ents, what he was writing?
He knew
If America imports all of India in order to win, it is no longer America. And this is assuming Indians aren't sub-human retards who lie, cheat, and steal their way into American tech jobs.
Which they do.
But the brand name still says America!
He's dead wrong about this. We over-produce STEM grads and it's been this way for 20 years. The Department of Labor does this on purpose because they have two stated objectives:
ONE: This reduces the price of math & science competency in all of the other fields that STEM grads will go into, particularly non-STEM fields like Finance. Finance is where most physics graduates actually work, and normally for a lot of money. This is because there is a huge discrepancy between the amount of math and analytical skill that some fields need, and the actual math & analytical skill of the people who work in that field natively. Most Americans are literally afraid of fractions, and hardly any can do basic algebra or trigonometry. STEM grads can quickly get pulled into these industries and drive down the ballooning costs of these skills in these industries.
TWO: The government believes that the over-production of STEM grads is necessary in the event of a national emergency which may require a major industrial-scale research effort (like the Manhattan Project). If, for some reason, the US needed to suddenly come up with, I don't know, Silk Steel or whatever, they would rather recruit thousands of STEM grads who are working in non-STEM fields to do the research, rather than try and take nearly a decade to train up high school grads to the level that's actually needed. Retraining previous STEM grads is faster than starting from scratch.
The US has never had a shortage of STEM grads. It doesn't even now. It just doesn't have them at the price point that most corporations want them at.
Now here's the truly bad issue. Thanks to DIE initiatives, low quality training, and the political radicalism of universities; most of the people who could be excellent pure STEM workers are realizing that no one at the university wants them to succeed. A white boy with good grades doesn't mean shit. I remember my Computer Science instructor telling women who were in the program that they had nine academic organizations dedicated to their success alone; and this doesn't include grant money. As with the military and police, the good recruits are disincentivized from even applying because you're shitting everything up so bad. They're actually deciding to go back into blue collar work because people actually care more about their productivity than their politics, race, or sex.
As for STEM grads from foreign countries, they're absolute shit. They have no critical thinking skills, and off-shore companies have to be tightly managed for quality control issues. As bad as American universities are, they were so accidentally unhelpful that the only coping mechanism students had was to actually develop critical thinking, analytics, and research skills on their own with no guidance. In foreign countries like India and China, they don't have any of those skills. It's rote memorization and process. They can't solve problems. Those countries create high degree holders, but low IQ individuals.
He's at least not for mass migration, the problem is there's some cultures where when one person is successful, the rest of the family expect YOU to 'share' in your 'success'.
From what I remember, Arab and Indian cultures really suffer from this which shows why their home countries are so behind, can't remember if Africa is the same or just constant shit happening also drags them down too (rampant corruption, civil wars, breakdown of previous tribal structures etc).
Africa is literally all of the above of terrible things. I think it's something like 75% of Nigerians think that they have intransigent "enemies" in their lives that they will have to permanently fight or destroy, just as a part of life.
Nigeria is half Muslim, half African Christian. If 75% of Nigerians think they're at perpetual war, it's the 25% who are deluded.
An interesting interpretation of the data that I can't dismiss.
Sub Saharan African I agree. I still have immense sympathy and respect for the Copts of Egypt, what few are left.
An immigrant is pro-immigration because he has to be to avoid the hypocrisy of himself.
He thinks all these random losers from other countries might be just like him, so thereby of course he is pro trying to pull them. Anything else would be admitting to wrongthink opinions on race.
I would be fine more immigrants like him, people who individually love America and American liberty first, and ALSO bring something of value with them. We don't need to recruit people who just want better pay and living conditions and are willing to work for whatever team gives it to them. The soviets had top class scientists and engineers but that didn't make them winners.
ftfy
Maybe I'm being cynical, but I don't know how else to translate "super motivated" from corpspeak.
More context is revealed in his followup tweet:
This is in reply to someone asking if he can rehire Boeing engineers. The implication here is that he wants young less experienced graduates who can be molded under his vision and direction, and who won't have a lot of baked in demands like high salary or time off to spend with their families. Many replies after that point out how new engineering graduates in America are having a hard time finding work, and he doesn't have a response for those.
This is why the New York Yankees win the world series every year. And Manchester United always wins the Premier League.
They also cut dead weight which is impossible here, and dynasties are largely dead anymore because contracts shuffle players/ coaches like trading cards. If we’re going to mass import diploma mill engineers from India we’re fucked. Indians are insanely nepotistic and will always be pushing for more Indians immigrants. There’s no understanding of American history or culture by the overwhelming majority, they simply see access to capital and a way out of India.
Professional sports teams also tend to have zero players from their hometowns. Even the White players are mercenaries playing with loyalty only to the highest bidder (or are locked into indentured servitude at relatively low wages for the first years of their careers).
There's the longstanding pejorative that pro sports is simply "cheering for laundry".
The players rarely live in the city's they represent and often flee the very second their season end's and their contractual obligations are over.
It's an absolute dystopian model for "winning", nation building, cultural preservation, etc.
The Los Angeles Dodgers just won the World Series by doing exactly this.
Their opponent? The New York Yankees.
Thats why sports is garbage.. id understand if the athelete grew up in the city or town or lived there for a decade.
At the olympics, Half the european teams are imported blacks lol. The chinese love winning, but even they arent importing blacks to win.
Being a White guy in the tech sector
Musk is removing his mask and revealing that he is actually America last.
He is a wealthy corrupt corporatist that views America as an economic zone not as an actual country with its own culture and people.
Musk wants infinite H1Bs from India as cheap labor that he can exploit.
This view is opposite of what the MAGA base wants.
We are immigration restrictionists.
It is clear that Musk is an enemy to MAGA.
I hope Trump and Musk have a falling out as soon as possible.
Speak for yourself, I want net negative immigration. I want us catapulting people out of our country to the tune of tens of millions every year and shooting everyone who tries to enter our country.
I agree with this fully as long as I get to stay.
I am a naturalized U.S. citizen.
Is this about the Indian dude Trump appointed that was all in on "Beta Cucks for Kamala" a couple weeks ago and is team "India First!" and fuck America?
They're really circling the wagons on this one.
Edit: Good lord. Elon is really going hard on the whole "Hwyte bad" posts. Starting to look like the same implosion we saw back in 2016. The rise of the evil counselors part II.
Pajeets are cancer - you don't want hordes of them, that's for sure.
You know you're at the end of an empire when you need immigrants to do fucking chair work.
Even if I accepted the idea that (to paraphrase) diversity was our strength, trading players is one of the many Fake elements that makes sports Fake and Gay. The players can be from fucking anywhere, so the location names are just part of a brand. Maybe you can get away with that in a sports team, but that's a suicidal way to run a country. Or, murderous, if you happen to be the one making the decisions.
The sports team analogy doesn't work because it assumes every other "sports team" operates over wanting to win the "championship". Every other "sports team" sees winning as the players on every team looking like their players. Maybe you should open factories and offices in these countries to fully take advantage of this massive untapped resource of "top talent".
Some of the irony is that unsuccessful sports teams that care less about winning than being cheap and financially viable are more focused on internal promotions and relying on developing their own domestic talent.
"My" team?
Playing a living wage is very motivating. Go back to pensions, and stop with the God damn pizza parties.
"Living wage" means nothing. You should be paying attention to the inflation rate which destroys wages one way or another.
The pension system is literally the justification of why the entire economy must be directly oriented against the prosperity of the people.
I'd rather just save my own money, rather than hoping I get 10% of my purchasing power back so long as Social Security doesn't die (which it will).
Ay yes, the old minutiae ploy!
They are perfectly right, but don't present it upon themselves.
Certainty in data is what we need and then the exploration of humanity.
The other way around is just retarted.
