As the meme goes, I just wanted to be left alone. I didn't hate these people. Now I take great pleasure in their self-inflicted suffering. I still hope they sort themselves out and have happy lives...but their utter and complete despair is a nice consolation prize if they won't embrace sanity. They did this. I watched it. Didn’t think to save it off YouTube as I was unaware the magnitude of what he is doing and I was newer to finding out that stuff. Searched everywhere for it. You don’t have to believe me if that’s what you’re insinuating. I know what I watched. It was an interview with him where he described how currency manipulation was a hobby to him and how he practiced ruining other small countries to see what does and what does not work with America being his end goal.

Something important that is getting overlooked is that this D.O.G.E has a timeline of July so it itself WON'T be a forever agency and probably means it'll be 5 straight months of purging and boots up asses.
I've said this before: all agencies and all laws should require a sunset clause.
Sunset clause can just be extended for every department in an omnibus bill.
Agencies need a hard end date and then Congress can create a new, duplicate agency if they want to that starts from scratch with new buildings, new hires. Even if they basically just 'roll over' the old department into the new one it'll at least give a real opportunity to purge the waste and corruption.
Omnibus bills should require a blood sacrifice of at least one politician.
This is such a great idea, basically you prevent the revolving door that these current permanently embedded agencies are.

I'm a contractor so I'm not too worried. There's always a next job and the axe swinging this time doesn't change that a bit for me. Besides, I've got enough savings to weather this storm for a number of years if things get well and truly dire.
For real though there is so much dead weight in government it is unreal. Incompetent low-IQ NPCs as far as the eye can see. I've seen at least two utterly useless(as in hard zero productivity rather than just substandard) people scrub out of my office in the past two years and we're not even a sizeable outfit.

Automation isn't what will get rid of those do-nothing jobs. Those jobs exist because most DEI hires can't actually handle a productive job. They will go away when DEI incentives do.
The actual productive jobs have been getting hit with wave after wave of reorgs and layoffs since the 80s, so I doubt automation will be any more destructive than offshoring is.
We've hit a brick wall when it comes to automation. Even Walmart is going back to wagie cashiers with how rampant shoplifting is. There's no more road to kick the can down anymore; corpos will have to eat the inflation shit sandwich.

There was some talk a few days before the election that Ron Paul might get involved with DOGE. I want to see that happen, both to be able to spam "It's Happening" memes everywhere and so the poor guy could directly participate in one thing he wanted for decades starting to come to pass. Hopefully he still gets to participate a bit.
To be honest, Ron Paul has been getting up there in age and has fought his wars. I'm not sure he immediately want to get into, what would probably amount to, the biggest war in his life where he is personally cutting government budgets.
