Genetically incapable of processing hypotheticals

That really is what’s on display here. It also REALLY doesn’t help that he thinks playing the racism card is some supreme “gotcha.” Maybe there’s better context beyond this clip, but it’s really funny to see Elon talking about “lowering standards” and Lemon to respond with “yes, but we should have more black people in medicine, anyway.” Somebody has a quiet part they shouldn’t be saying out loud.

From the utopian mindset, the path to utopia (in this case anti-racism) trumps all other concerns.

If it only takes 100 planes exploding in midair to acheive utopia forever, it's obviously worth it.

well, specifically an egalitarian utopia. other ideologs have other, very different ideas of what utopia is. but yes, an ideolog will do any number of horrific things in the real world in support of their make-believe fantasy. it's a dangerous, pathological mode of thought.

converting NPCs into ideologs is very profitable though. they will advocate against reality and even their own best interests for fantasies and emotions.

The amount of cognitive dissonance around hypotheticals is hilarious and it’s entirely due to the breakfast meme. People who actually administer WAIS tests are now trying to pretend that hypothetical questioning isn’t on every single standard intelligence test.

he's a trained news reporter. you can see it in the way that he conducts himself. he sticks his nose up and speaks condescendingly to the person he's interviewing when he is supposed to one up them. he doesn't care about the substance of what he's saying, only that the person he is talking to is supposed to be an idiot and therefore he must present himself as the smarter of the two people in the room.

I don't know about genetically. I remember reading somewhere that processing hypotheticals is more of an IQ thing. Which if you take into account the average IQ by race...you know what never mind, you're right.

The part where he is saying Elon is wrong because 5% of surgeons are black is the funniest thing.

I would like to understand what was the "logic" inside Don Lemon's head.

Picture a black hole

And no not the type that he allegedly assaulted..

Don Lemon's logic is that A) to get more black doctors you have to lower standards because they're not as competent and B) black doctors give better care to black patients than white doctors do and C) many blacks are treated by white doctors.

So we need more incompetent black doctors to replace competent white doctors that are currently treating black patients. Makes perfect sense, right??

Well it could if (B) was a huge effect; if white doctors just give really trash care to blacks then even an incompetent black doctor could be better for black patients. There probably is some difference treating other races, but it's very small and the incompetent black doctors, a surgeon for instance, will have to treat other races too.

In that case the solition is simple: only Black people should be allowed to be treated by DEI hires and the rest of us will have to get by with the racist "competent" doctors.

I second this as long as the segregation is strict both ways.

Productive members of society suddenly get better healthcare when their doctors aren't wasting so much time treating overdoses and habitual messes, alongside a healthy dose of schadenfreude looking at the other side.

And he wonders WHY Elon didn't take him up on his 'deal'...

Seeing Elon in this short clip, we really gotta feel sorry for autists living today, they try to understand the world logically and you have dipshits like Lemon with actual power running things because 'muh feelings', the 90s was better for them honestly.

He perfectly understands what Elon means, he just engages in sophistry as it's not an argument he can refute so he forces Elon to look confused and stumbling. That's more than enough for leftard cultists to believe that Elon does not know what he's talking about.

I don't think he does. It sounds to me like Musk is arguing from a point of individual valuation, while Lemon is arguing about group valuation. So, when Musk says that lowering individual standards will increase mistakes, Lemon hears "increasing representation of Blacks will increase mistakes".

Which it will, from either perspecrive, but if you believe in equity that doesn't matter.

This issue is the woke are conflating two contradictory ideas: that you can't prejudge a person based on their group, and group representation is an indicater of fairness. That confuses anyone expecting a consistent argument.

I won't say "all Black people are too dumb to be doctors". What I will say is "statistically, Black people are more likely than White people to be to dumb to be doctors". That doesn't mean there won't be exceptional Blacks who do the job just fine, but that you won't see an even distribution of race in medicine any more than you would in the NBA.

Lemon's argument seems to be both "you can't make judgements about entire groups" but also "all groups are equal".

Also odd how almost every successful black person has a “traditional white” upbringing. Aka two upper middle class parents in a stable relationship in generally white-majority populated areas. Weird how that works

Liberals: You can’t say that lowering standards could cause deaths because we haven’t lowered standards enough to cause deaths. Also I did have breakfast today. Also Liberals: You can’t vote for Donald Trump because he’s a racist, sexist, bigoted Hitler who will kill are LGBTQIIAP+ people, all black and brown people, and grab everyone woman (and “woman”) by the … I can’t use the “p” word because it is so wrong and degrading. And I don’t care that the fucking piece of shit orange man didn’t do it last time he was president he is totally going to do it this time!

It's the same shit with the discussion of gay people being able to donate blood. Sure, lower the standards & risk the health of many people just so you can show how woke you are.

I personally think we should just differentiate the blood donations then. And when I'm in a hospital I can say "No gay blood" and the wokeys can get it.
Same here - "No lower standard doctor please. There are tons of people who want you. I'll gladly pass for them to get treated by you."

How would you feel if your doctor couldn't imagine how he'd feel if he didn't have breakfest this morning?

If you can't answer, you get the diversity doctor.

And instead of realizing the situation we're all in, we have people like this trying to limbo with the devil.

It’s a double edged sword. 90% of doctors cannot physically retain every medication for every disease known to man and a lot of things overlap in terms of symptoms and some present with barely any at all. As someone who busted ass throughout med school, I’m not afraid to admit that sometimes I have to do a quick deliberation to textbooks and other reputable sources to make a proper care plan for my patients. It’s fucking hard, and making the profession easier as a whole would be helpful but at the same time there are people I know who cheated through school and had no reason being at the position they are and as one would guess, they give everyone else a bad name.

Also post-med school burnout is real and a surprising amount of people are extremely lazy after years of schooling and internships and I 100% get it.

I know most of the tech being used today is very old. We can't get the new tech because the companies that make the old stuff create laws stopping innovation from happening. I just read an article about it happening to a new type of braces.

Nevermind Don Lemon's stupidity for a moment...both of them keep stumbling over their own words and it was so painful to watch that I had to stop the video before the first minute was over.

Not too long ago I watched an old interview with Thomas Sowell. He was very articulate, intelligible, spoke clearly and almost never backtracked or tried to cram a bunch of words into one second of time. Which is how two adults engaging in an interview or discourse should speak.

▲ 1 ▼
– HallucinatoryBeing 1 point 2 years ago +1 / -0

Sowell is an actual intellectual. He's willing to change his entire worldview if he's wrong, which happened in his youth when he worked for the government and it beaten the socialism out of him.
