New job, dramatic raise in pay. Enough to add another member of the family.

There are absolutely woke positions out there. I interviewed with a company that had multiple interview sessions. One of them I was alone with the only black guy on their team. He asked me a few questions about the job that I answered thoroughly showing I know the subject matter.

Then he started asking me about what movies I liked, where I grew up, started telling me how he had to grow up in gangland Chicago. And the more it went on the more I realized I was being interviewed by this guy for my wokeness and this company was allowing this black guy to make the choice on who was going to get hired.

They declined to hire me because I "wasn't sincere enough"...exact quote. In other words I didn't display any white guilt because I don't have any.

You just gotta keep looking. Where I'm working now there are zero black people on the team. It's nice. It's refreshing. There's no racial tensions. I'm not having to check my privilege while being assigned to help a diversity hire not embarrass management with his piss poor work ethic and knowledge.

In fact, I got what amounts to a reduction in pay, thanks to the massive increase in minimum wage.

I'm strongly considering a new job.

0% but I did get a new bonus. Already searching for a new job. No way my current employer would give me a raise. Not do to me being a white male, although they are woke, but because they do not care about retaining talent, they will happy hire from India for less money.

I'm likely leaving for the same reason.

My last supervisor quit (before he was a supervisor), got a job working for a competitor, realized the grass wasn't greener on the other side, and got hired back as a supervisor with a massive raise. Obviously he quit again after a year or so.

I only get raises when supervisors quit so they've essentially incentivised me to blackpill co-workers on the job until they leave, as opposed to actually producing high quality work, quickly and safely.

It's like they don't even realize there's a massive labour shortage. Their loss...

Moved from one job where I could barely support myself and worked 60+ hour weeks in person to a job I work remotely, average around 20ish hours of real work per week (the rest is useless meetings), and more than doubled my salary.

My wife also nearly doubled her income as well. We’re saving as much as we can so we can buy a house and she can be a stay at home mom.

Raises as a tradition are dead. Sure, there might a few companies that do give raises who are surrounded by oceans of those that don't. You might get a cost of living increase. Last year my previous employer gave us an increase 2.35%. Meanwhile, out workload continued to increase even while management had no idea why. Yeah, ok. I got a new job and now I'm making 35% more and working a hell of a lot less. Oh and my supervisor isn't a paranoid fuck like the last one.

You need to understand that as an employee you're under the effects of economics. You're not immune to it. Employers are quite happy not to give raises if you're willing to stay without one. Unfortunately, most of your co-workers are going to stay where they are in the hopes they get a tap on the shoulder for their years of loyalty or they have no ambition. You really shouldn't stay in a position for more than a year if there's no upward mobility to be had in that time and no more than 2 to 3 years if raises and pay based on promotion are not competitive. Of course it's easy for me to say that and I certainly don't mean it to be a hard rule. There are many reasons why you would want to stay where you're at even if pay isn't competitive.

And I cannot stress enough, if management has it's favorites and you're not one of those there is little you're going to do to change that. If management is not advocating for your success while they are doing it for others then you need to leave as quickly as you can. Case and point I was hired on at my previous employer. 3 months after I got there they hired a woman who considered herself non-binary. 4 months after she was there she was already given team lead. After I left I heard they promoted her into another position. If you see something like that and you're giving as much or more effort to the company then it's time for you go.

If you want upward mobility you're not just looking for a place that is going to pay you more. You're looking for a place that is gong to advocate for your success. You'll know it when you see. If you don't see it keep moving on. You will find it. It is out there, but man there are a lot more shit companies than good companies.

This has sadly become the new reality. Gone are the days when you could work the same job for 40 years and retire with an excellent pension. To be competitive you have to switch jobs.

What’s the spot price on soybeans and rice?

That being said next year is going to bad. Last year nitrogen was $350 a ton. This year it was $700 a ton. We booked what we could at between $900-1000 a ton. Right now it’s $1500 a ton and we can’t book anymore.

Honestly, staple crops are a great way to turn a large fortune into a small fortune.

And the next two years are going to be bad, bad, very bad for commodity agriculture.

I got about an 8% raise, after everyone and their dog at my warehouse was complaining about how we didnt make anywhere near as much as other jobs in the area. Additionally, they also announced a "retention bonus" where we will be getting a $500 bonus each quarter for an extra $2,000 per year, as long as we stay actively employed with the company.

On top of the fact that there hasnt been a ton of inflation in my neck of the woods (other than gas), and I would say I am doing pretty well. Also going to start living on my own in a place I am renting out starting next month.

8%-9% because my supervisor quit and they don't want to lose anyone else (same reason for my raise last year, lol).

I'm still likely quitting in January though. All the money in the world makes little difference if you're working for morons.

Official inflation # is something like 7%. But real inflation that includes food, real rental costs, and fuel into the equation (they were removed because number too big!!) is more like ~20%. It's going to be worse next year.

To break even this year you needed to receive ~15%-20% raise by about mid-year. And again next year.

Yes, the goal is to create a serf class, population 99.9%. Control you thoroughly using the jab, travel papers, closed international borders, then crack down on capital gains to make sure you can never climb out of the hole.

New job this year. 50% raise.

Had a total of 4 job offers and left 2 full time jobs over the course of this year.

Man, it feels so powerful to turn down a job offer for the specific reason because it wouldn't be fulfilling work even though the pay is better. Never had that happen before.
