Interesting how now they are so concerned about the cops. Also the fires set to the federal buildings is ok but the Capitol is a symbol of democracy. Honestly they don’t care when normal people have their stuff burned down but make them uncomfortable and it’s worst than 9/11

Going to the nation's capitol to assemble and protest grievances. Could there be a more beautiful exercise of democracy?

I agree. I guess what annoyed me most was the inconsistency. I seem to recall women protesting kavanaugh getting in the faces of senators

I hold zero hope that the federal government will self-correct or clean its own house. But the good news is that we have 50 parallel governments in the USA. The actual right (not "conservatives" or RINO fucking Republicans) needs to win and take over at the state level. Doing so gives sovereign legitimacy to whatever movement that needs to happen to purge the neoliberal globalist uniparty elements from the federal government. Look at the civil war and the revolutionary war. The civil war was largely led and coordinated at the state level and even the revolutionary war had large backing from the colonial governments.

As much as the Second Amendment protects individuals from the government generally, it also protects states against a tyrannical federal government. We need people in power at the state level who see the federal government as the threat to freedom that it is. And conduct themselves accordingly. We need state governments who refuse to enforce all federal laws, not just 2A laws or marijuana laws or whatnot. We need state governments to massively build up their national guards and state defense forces in preparation for possible conflict. And we need state leaders who are openly willing to push back against the feds.

In my state, Alan West is going to try to primary Gov. Abbott. And one of the things that West has done is to openly call for secession. I'll be supporting West and hope that other states follow through with similar patriots.

You're tripping on copium so much, man.

You're country is lost and gone. It's over.

I'm very concerned about mine (Poland). But as our anthem says, "Poland is not lost yet".

Yes they were. There is no meaningful difference between a liberal, a leftist, a socialist, and a communist. They're all shit. Now you might be a connoisseur of shit, a sommelier of feces. You might want to tell me how Type A is nuttier than Type B and how Type C has a more sticky consistency than the others.

The rest of us don't care. We just don't want it on our shoes. Roll in the shit all you please, but stop trying to tell the rest of us that it's okay.

Begging your pardon, but you may have misunderstood the definition of political prisoner.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– TentElephant 1 point 4 years ago +1 / -0

Political prisoner is a progressive framing device to elicit sympathy for psychopaths. To lump this man in with the people typically associated with the term is an insult.

Furthermore, every imprisonment is done for political reasons. Murders and thieves undermine the regime's monopoly on violence and property. Every criminal act is definitionally an act against the State.

These judges have been saying a lot of unintentionally telling things in these cases. They've been saying how horrible it is that these guys believe that DJT won. They've exclaimed how unfortunate it is that these people are mostly white. They've highlighted how almost no damage was done, either to individuals or property.

The message I'm seeing being broadcast is the same one that convinced Chen Sheng and Wu Guang to set in motion the end of the Qin dynasty.

Chen Sheng: "What’s the penalty for being late?"

Wu Guang: "Death."

Chen: "And what’s the penalty for rebellion?"

Wu: "Death."

Chen: "Well...we're late."

If you're going to be punished for walking on the Senate floor as harshly as you would be for actually burning down the Capitol with a bunch of congresscritters locked inside...well hell, I'm really not seeing much incentive to NOT go for broke against the system.

I always thought "send a message" and "set an example" were total bullshit excuses to over-penalize someone for anything and done purely out of spite. They say it's a deterrent, but it's nothing more than unequal justice that deteriorates faith in the system.

It's also like "I caught you with a recreational drug which could have been a gateway drug to ruin your life. So I'm going to ruin your life by throwing the book at you and blemishing your permanent record."

If you're "making an example" of someone and "sending a message", you are flat out admitting that you are pushing forward an unjustly harsh punishment for the sole purpose of controlling other through fear.

You are flat out admitting that what you're doing has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with tyranny.

Don’t worry. Chauvin is likely to die in prison.

Kyle Rittenhouse will be put away for life. Likely to meet a brutal end. With his effeminate look and demeanor he may be able to become....useful in prison, but it’s unlikely he will last very long.

It seems the real killers are being put away. Hang in there bud!

Also leftist judge: bail is racist so this murderer is free to go as long as he pinky swears to show up for his trial and not murder anyone else

Leftist judges are partisan to the point of illegitimacy. Conservative judges cower before the mob. What is the lesson here?

And all cases should get thrown out in appeal since their defense attorneys obviously aren't actually helping them.

permalink save report block reply

Very rarely happens. If your public defender being a dope was sufficient grounds for an appeal, most convicts would win an appeal.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 6 ▼
– Xzal 6 points 4 years ago +6 / -0

It is possible to claim mistral on grounds of your public defender being unsuitable/inexperienced/incompetent/biased against you.

The problem is, what do you end up getting to represent you in the appeal trial? A public defender.

Who is
a) likely reluctant to move against a potential colleague
b) wary you'll do the same to him. c) just as incompetent

You then incur further wrath of likely the same judge as you go over the same material, as the judge dismisses anything new and the outcome ends up the same.
