Political prisoner is a progressive framing device to elicit sympathy for psychopaths. To lump this man in with the people typically associated with the term is an insult.

Furthermore, every imprisonment is done for political reasons. Murders and thieves undermine the regime's monopoly on violence and property. Every criminal act is definitionally an act against the State.
