Leaving aside the stupid DNA analogy, looking up where he lines up with Stargate production has him joining for at best the last two seasons, after Richard Dean Anderson had stopped even phoning it in and left completely. As for Atlantis, it already had woke casting. Science fiction TV, with an audience overwhelmingly white and male, depicting scientists, explorers, and soldiers, roles also dominated by white men, and of the seven people put on the poster for the show on IMDB, there are two women and two blacks, including the overall commander. Who are these people there for? Not the fans and not to represent reality.

When a primitive civilization comes into contact with a superior one, the inferior civilization's culture becomes frozen in time. 1: The word "nigger" was used about a million times this week, mostly by niggers. You cannot declare a word "bad" depending on who says it. "Hard R is different" is a figleaf hiding the reality that the actual rule in practice is that it depends solely on the skin color of the person saying it, even if the intent is completely benign, such as singing lyrics to songs. My intent in this post is certainly not benign, but I could achieve the same effect by saying "jogger" or "dindu" or just 13/56 or whatever we're up to these days. Criminalizing speech based on intent is more sane than criminalizing speech based on skin color, but it is still often based in mind reading that boils back down to "You can't say this while white." Also, criminalizing speech is entirely unacceptable to begin with.
2: Even if you're the most left-wing nigger-loving asshole in the world, you should actually embrace popularizing the word "nigger". It is through making it forbidden that the word has an impact. Ever notice how there aren't really any major insults against men? It's because nobody ever forbids anyone from calling a man anything. Make a word commonplace, and it becomes banal. The perceived power of insults against groups is really just a measure of how protected that group is.
3: Even if a wizard cast a magic spell and the word "Nigger" was irrevocably insulting, so what? They're words on a screen. In terms of actual harm, cops should be investigating missing lunches in the company fridge at a higher priority than policing speech, even if you think speech should be policed at all, which it shouldn't.

Descent: Freespace 1 and 2 are both very similar to Wing Commander but a few years more recent. They were both well received.
Wing Commander: Privateer was definitely my favorite Wing Commander, but it's different from the main series. It was then followed by Freelancer, made by the same guy who did Wing Commander, before he was given infinite money lost his mind while making Star Citizen. Freelancer is from 2003, so slightly less "retro". Privateer and Freelancer are both more about making your own way in a big universe and less about being a soldier and playing a series of missions. If you want more player freedom at the expense of less plot and cutscenes, definitely check them out. The modern version of these games is egosoft's X3 and it's expansions, which I recommend if you aren't specifically looking for retro, but the more recent X: Rebirth and X4 are both trash.

I generally suspect that a lot of the people who make comments about how they hate AI content in games/whatever are just people who have had their opinion fed to them by writers who fear for their job. Unity and their asset store existing and enabling a bunch of trashy asset-flip games wasn't the end of gaming, and good games written in Unity exist. Games with AI generated content will be the same. The difference is that there aren't a bunch of "games journalists" afraid their job will be replaced by the Unity asset store trying to drive opinion.
