I intend to be good on supplies before Election Day this year. I have no proof of any kind of imminent chaos, but I'll sleep a little more soundly.
Republicans are probably divided because some are more successful at towing the uniparty line while keeping their jobs than others.
At least Dems are honest about their intentions, which is why I think the hammer should fall harder on those Republicans.
I watched a montage of spectators interfering with competitors in races in several countries on YouTube once. Imagine training for the Tour De France for years, having a remote yet actual chance of winning...and then all your hopes and dreams being destroyed in a single moment because some asshole spectator got in your way and knocked you down.
Every month is filled with woke holidays; you just wouldn't know it unless you were into that sort of thing. We only know about the ones that were forced into the mainstream.
More like a counterfeit Christian conference...or a feel-good hot-tub Christianity conference. Or a meetup of the synagogue of Satan.
I know some left wingers who still say that seriously. Every once in a blue moon something positive will come up in a conversation that reminds them of a bill that got signed into law during Obama's administration. Then they just have to say it, usually following some mental gymnastics.
Still not as annoying as people comparing the GWB administration with Idiocracy, though. It was funny the first time, but every single time someone mentioned the movie itself, someone always fucking had to say "oh the movie about George Bush!"
You bring up an underrated point. A lot of people think the first day of WWIII is going to be when a nuke goes off or tens of thousands of troops engage in hundreds of skirmishes over dozens of countries all at once. The reality is the first day could be a small battle followed by weeks or even months of calm before things really ramp up.
I remember a friend complaining about the crappy internet in his area. I asked him why he didn't switch to another provider, and he told me that Comcast was the only game in town because regulations prevented other providers from offering their services.
So it always warms my heart when I see an offbeat story about someone figuring out a way around that and also hooking their friends up.
Why bother with race riots when Dominion will carry them over the finish line again?
After Rush Limbaugh moved his show from New York to Florida, New York audited him every year until he died to make him prove he's no longer running business operations in New York. He wasn't doing it, and they had no evidence of any kind that he was doing it; yet the onus was on Rush to prove he wasn't doing it.
Life lesson: If you live in a blue state and you're highly effective at speaking truth to power, expect consequences...and if you live in D.C., expect serious consequences.
"I used to be a senior video game community manager; I just don't understand why nobody will hire me!"
Maybe because they hate gamers and actually admit it?
The pink-haired crowd must be very upset that a game they would never play isn't catering to them.
Same. I just don't know what kind of movie to expect from a trailer where the visuals are fun, fast paced action and the music resembles a choir of angels followed by a large bass drop.
It reminds me of the overdone and not always relevant "In a world..." trailer narration trope of the 90's.
I know Duke Nukem isn't the most iconic, but dammit I would have at least given him an honorable mention for being such a badass.
/b is almost all crappy porn now; including "not child porn because it's hand drawn"
going to be selectively enforced
Every rule on every social platform from all of Instagram to a tiny IRC channel is selectively enforced. Everything.
Looks like Abbott needs support from a certain group to ensure his election victory.
Baltimore property prices will tank overnight. The cost to the city to clear and rebuild, people losing jobs because of congestion and travel route changes, losing a major trade hub and tax revenue for the city. Baltimore just got pittsburghed overnight.
I've seen some of them complain that Christians run mainstream media and news outlets. It's just a scare tactic; but if it were true, then those Christians are doing an incredibly terrible job converting people and even upholding their own values.
Maybe they'll redeem gamer journos by posting a video of a completed Cuphead tutorial.
The Western Alliance of Texas and California
Backstory is probably a few million Californians moved to Texas; and together with an additional several million illegals, turned it deep blue.
Your last statement was verified in the reality show where a bunch of men and women had to survive on their own separate primitive island dwellings. The men immediately began organizing and doing work while the women sunbathed and ate through their rations. When it was clear the women would not survive, the producers sent at least one of those women to the men's island. There they resumed sunbathing and the men had to work harder.
Same with Hollywood movies. If a studio wants to make a space opera where the protagonist is a Mary Sue, they should just make their own IP. But no, they had to destroy Star Wars. Or a Sci-Fi where robots travel back in time to kill a teenage girl who threatens their plans, they should make their own IP. But no, they had to destroy Terminator.
When woke journos went on full court offense and also tried to get them taken down, I knew the curator had scored a big win.
Not to mention there are people out there who get that knocking on their door and think they deserved it.
I won't forget the story of the entrepreneur who posted pro-BLM stuff on his store windows because he supported them. Then BLM burned it down during a riot. Then the owner reacted by claiming he just didn't support them hard enough and that he would do better.
