I see what's happening in other countries, and even continents like Australia as a glimpse into the long-term future of the US. Our country was founded on liberty; so we'll probably be one of the last holdouts.
Then it will be competing factions which share the same culture of "me first" and "my ancestors built everything good ever" fighting for what's left. My money is on Islam becoming dominant because it is a religion of conquest-at-all-costs and because the book of Revelation cites that those who do not worship the Antichrist will have their heads cut off, which is a common punishment.
I never get tired of seeing Robert Reich appear on social media because I immediately hear the name in my head the way Rush Limbaugh said it on his radio show:
"Robert ReichhhhhhHHHHhhhHhhhHhhHhhhHHHhSHUH!!!!!!"
And an investigation never really ends. It's suspended until the evidence "we just know exists" just conveniently "turns up" or until someone makes up fake evidence.
If you did archive it then they would just be in "science is evolving and nobody really did anything wrong" or "what difference does it make?" mode.
No landwhales encroaching your personal space, no children kicking your seat because they drank their weight in soda, no adults kicking your seat because they can't get comfortable. Heck when my dad traveled for work he sometimes brought back stuff the airline freely gave him like a deck of Delta playing cards.
I've seen it blamed on storms and blamed on an "induced atmospheric variation" but I'm taking it all with a grain of salt right now. Everything is so damn censored and political now.
As for Texas, people were so triggered and tried so much to politicize the near-state-wide-outage, that to this day almost every time ERCOT posts something on Twitter, people remind them of their failure or try to inject something about Gov. Abbott or bad orange man being at fault for everything down to squirrels chewing on wires.
Did that one journo who struggled in the Cuphead tutorial ever finish the game?
I'm on LinkedIn for three reasons: To make it easier to find work if I decide to move on, to have a pulse on what's going on in the industry, and to know who to avoid in the industry. I never post anything unless its to promote something I worked on.
The last reason is easy to fill because sooner or later someone always goes full redditor and writes a wall of text starting with "I can no longer stay silent over bad orange man shitting on everything. So here's what I need all of you and the whole rest of the world to do right now..."
There's also the occasional gem where a boomer CEO complains about how lazy people are and how hard it is to find good employees. Those are fun to read; especially when the comments section has a lot of posts.
What the hell?!?! What comes next?? Flying in a federal judge every time a unit has their barracks inspected?
One of my favorite anecdotes is about lesbians being upset over trans showing up at their bars. The trans would harass the regulars, and the regulars were afraid of kicking them out because it could mean being ostracized from the community.
She needs to dream bigger. Don't sue for a chance at becoming a SEAL...sue to become a SEAL!
Better yet she should just get a Navy uniform with a Trident pinned to it, then show up at a naval base. When the MP's won't let her in, she can just show them the trident, claim she has a husband who outranks them, and then sue the base instead.
But I was told by Californians that California has such a big, great economy they don't need the rest of the country! Surely they wouldn't lie about their state...
I remember about fifteen years ago I could go to a local Amish restaurant, and for $8 get a breakfast that was so big that the leftovers you took home could fed you through dinner. Their "hash brown" was literally a plate full of diced potatoes.
Even the food court at the mall had an Asian restaurant where for $9 you got what felt like a pound of flavored chicken, a half pound of bbq pork, a pound of rice, and a beverage. And when they weren't serving anyone they were offering free samples on toothpicks to anyone walking by.
The Trump administration has directed the Internal Revenue Service’s top legal official to consider revoking Harvard University’s tax-exempt status.
Should be
The Trump administration has directed the Internal Revenue Service’s top legal official to revoke Harvard University’s tax-exempt status or be sent to gitmo.
Ivermectin is a potent anti-cancer drug, but drug companies can't make billions if they actually cure people.
I believe if Big Medical truly were fighting cancer, then we would see many less cases of it and the supermarket shelves would be stocked with food containing far less toxins. I wouldn't even be surprised if we do have a cure for cancer but it's only accessible if your net worth is north of $1B or you're a Rothschild or Soros.
I'm convinced that the endless sewer of explicit imagery on /b/ involving youths was designed to, at best, encourage sexual habits in people that prevent healthy intimate relationships; and at worst literally groom them. And the people who do it hide behind "well it's just a cartoon/AI generated/fantasy character! Look at the pointy elf ears! It's fine!"
Texas lost its "murica!" card some time ago. Wear a cowboy hat in any of its major cities and people will look at you funny. Speak English at a border city and people will look at you funny. Pick out a small town on the map and there's a chance that a drag queen show took place there.
And when the Romans fed Christians to the lions they weren't being violent, they were just feeding hungry animals with people who were strongly encouraged to volunteer. And when they were lit on fire to light the royal gardens, they were just providing a service to the emperor.
And when the Vandals plundered Rome they weren't being violent, they were just facilitating a transfer of wealth that should have been theirs anyway!
And when Islam marched across Europe they weren't being violent, they were just spreading religious enlightenment!
They should; but fortunately by that age many predators will have lost interest.
It's okay to do that here...but if you move to any other country then you're a bigot imperialist trying to impose your culture on them.
The number will only go down when the punishment for grooming kids is death.
They think the flu was nearly extinguished because of social distancing. They also think that the nearly extinguished flu made an incredible comeback the following few years returning to usual levels.
Then we steer them back with dump trucks full of cash.
When I sit down to dinner I watch Perry Mason. Seems like an odd choice, but I'd rather explore content before my time than most series released today. Plus his opponent district attorney always loses, and it's entertaining to watch him get triggered after thinking he's sure to win.
Looking forward to eventually getting to All in the Family. Then maybe back to Night Court.
I was fooled a long time ago too. Just reading the posts on his website he seemed like a politically incorrect badass. Then I noticed him on the fearmongering bandwagon during the lockdowns.
