Wait, why do we not want farms? Is it because in order to be a proper Communist regime they need the peasants to starve to death by the millions? Is that the motivation here?

Family farms are racist, only multinational corporations should be able to farm.

Multinational corporations are hostile foreign entities invading our country and should be driven from our lands with fire and sword. Change my mind.

I disagree. Bullets and high explosives are more effective.

Yeah, but a bowie knife is so much more personal.

Kier Starmer is too right-wing for California.

Food control is an excellent mechanism of population and political control. Ask every Socialist ever.

Can I ask a stupid question? With the tariff stuff happening, and the goal being more American products. Are they purposely shutting down American producers to make Californians and Americans by more imported products?

I think it’s more the people at the top want more corporate farms that are on their side/easier to control, while the front line people who actually work to shut down these farms are environmentalists that don’t like farmers “destroying” the natural landscape.

I know Bill Gates owns the largest percentage of farmland in the US, so I imagine you are right

Yes, but not because of the tariffs.

They want to homogenize the American economy for the purposes of control and extraction. Making Americans dependent on foreign food supply is also an added benefit.

It doesn't even need to be a scheme to make us import anything. Control of the food supply is plenty of power and worth pursuing all on its own.

They call that level of micromanagement Keynesian economics, correct?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Gizortnik 2 points 23 days ago +2 / -0

Officially, no. But the concept gives rise to the argument that "price stability" is what is needed in order to justify government intervention.

From a governance point of view it is much, much easier to deal with the biggest 20% of companies than it is to deal with thousand upon thousands of small businesses.

Those companies have lobbyists who will meet with politicians and tell them specifically what they want. Big companies will give assistance to the politician to get what they want, like writing bills for them to propose or donating to their reelection campaign or funding Super PACs.

Big businesses can also offer sweeteners like good jobs to politicians after their political career is over.

These priorities are retarded, because the economy at large is 80% small businesses. Small businesses are the smallest and most flexible, and best able to respond to changing circumstances, like tariffs.

There you go. It isn't necessarily graft and corruption. It could just be laziness and incompetence.

I'm sure that's part of the goal. I think it's the iocane gambit. They poison everyone, but think they have an immunity. Sadly, these are Sicilians when death is on the line...

Yes, I watched the movie today.

Communists have always hated farmers because not only are they utterly necessary to a civilization, they are much more self-sufficient, much more traditonally-minded, much more religious, and much more suspect of government than a typical citizen. Farmers are everything they hate and have much more power than they want, so of course they're always the first to be culled, everywhere, everytime.

Another thing to keep in mind is that California farmers are hugely pro-trump. Can't have that for the people that grow all the food.

Hops are grown in California. The next biggest place is in Yakima Washington. That's a drug capitol of the Northwest. You never know if you're smelling hops or MaryJane as you walk the streets.

The water standoff at Bundy ranch seems to be the only example in recent memory where the government was (temporarily in this one location only and without punishment) turned back.

That's probably worth studying and knowing a bit more about.

But I was told by Californians that California has such a big, great economy they don't need the rest of the country! Surely they wouldn't lie about their state...
