Nope, labor in and of itself is of zero intrinsic value. For labor to have value it must be wanted, warranted and result in a positive outcome, otherwise it is inherently worthless.

The idea that Labor was, in and of itself, valuable is just so divorced from reality as to have never occurred to me. The value-added step is valuable, and then only insofar as it adds value. This often requires physical work.

The statement "dirt has value" is a falsehood the same as saying labor has value. Are there some circumstances in which it can have value? Sure. But in and of itself, it doesn't. To say that "dirt has value" is to say that ALL dirt has value. Which would be a lie.
What leftists say when they argue for the labor theory of value is that all labor has value. Because that's the entire predicate of the theory. It's a lie.
