Leftists would side with actual demons in fantasy

For a considerable subset of leftists they're the same thing.
Its pronouns are they/them/legion.
Which is unfortunate, since they used to be human.
They invited the demons in to infest them, they deliberately traded their immortal souls for temporary power.
They chose...badly.
It's still reversable. Unlike the demons, they are still redeemable.
They've literally been poisoned. Ideologically. Chemically. Culturally.
You can argue they were weak to give in, and that's fair. But I think they're still to be pitied, and we should still strive to save them if possible. They gut fucked by academia, society, pharma/diet, and so much more.
They were once normal humans, and can be again. Despite the bile they're currently spewing.
Leftists are born irredeemable. They arent made that way
Saul Alinsky's famous left-wing book, Rules for Radicals, is literally dedicated to Lucifer, amongst others, on the Acknowledgements / Dedications page.
Here's the important question.
Where the heck do I find a hot girl who wants to do some genocide?
Depends real or fantasy?
As fantasy there's TONS to choose from depending on type, my personal pick would be Albedo from Overlord
Real, maybe try looking through the women that binge watch serial killer documentaries and have a search history of REALLY wanting a family by looking at babies laughing, nesting activities etc.
So...women?
Unfortunately Albedo would absolutely not pick you.
who's that chick? eva vaander-something-something dutch name?
few more years of Nothing Ever Happening she might be ready to start calling for it.
Who?
Eva Vlaardingerbroek
Now you're just making shit up!
hahahaha feels that way for dutch names sometimes don't it
It really activates the Almonds to see these creatures immediately compare "irredeemable evil monsters" to minorities... You said it, not me. I've never watched LotR or Goblin Slayer or any number of fantasy works and immediately thought "oh yeah I get it these vile creatures are blacks"
You mean you never used to. Now you probably do, even if ironically, thanks to all the actual orc-defense, and the subsequent and hilarious orcposting.
It's hard not to, since they drew the link so strongly. Not saying they are interpretations of blacks, but it's hilarious meme.
A large portion of the white population went from “color blind” to “seeing color”. Problem is they didn’t turn off their brains at the same time, so they are also seeing crime stats.
"It's racist not to see race in everything."
"...oh no! Not like that!"
I'm black and sometimes I do this just because I've heard that shit so much
To be fair, the ghouls of legend/ film and Haitians are pretty much the same thing.
I mean unlike the left, I actually WATCH anime so I'm more nuanced. As depends on the environment/pattern recognition:
I'd use a heavy flamer on the goblins of Goblin Slayer universe but be friends with the goblins of Reincarnated as a Slime universe. Same goes for demons, undead, aliens etc all depending on history of actions.
If one group has a history of unwarranted violence, then it's in your perogative to always have one hand on the grip, likewise if there is one group with a history of backstabbing and betrayal, it's your perogative to give them no power over you or resources.
The left does watch anime. They're just mega-autistic communists. For all their cries of "media literacy," their media literacy boils down almost exclusively to reading into everything: "capitalism bad, imperialism bad, God bad...let's get this Revolution started, Comrade!" In everything. Ever. For eternity.
Yeah, wiping out Goblin Slayer goblins is clearly for the overall good, in a big way. In other fantasy worlds, sure, goblins can be friends. It's really not complicated...except to the twisted leftists who freak out about everything.
Absolutely.
Well, in Frieren specifically, the point is that the demons are very much not human. They are intelligent, logical, they can think, they can reason, but on a certain level there are things (most emotions, friendship, the idea of a life having inherent value) that they can never, ever understand. It's just fundamentally not possible for them. The best you will ever get out of them is a sort of mutual acknowledgement that killing you would be more trouble than it's worth or doesn't align with their goals at this particular time. And ultimately, they're predators that prey on humans. They will do things like cry for mommy or act friendly because humans drop their guard for that. They don't even understand why it works, just that it does.
There are multiple plot arcs devoted to explicitly explaining all this, and the demons repeatedly prove the truth of it with their actions. The fact that OP was able to watch Frieren and walk away with the above take is a testament to how utterly leftism eats its adherents ability to consider other worldviews. (Or, alternately, proof of how utterly unable to consider other views one must be to become a hardcore leftist. One of the two).
In short, I'm 100% sure this guy talks about the importance of media literacy.
The Leftist Identification with Evil is so strong that even Frieren's 1000+ years of EXPERT qualifications cannot overcome it. They are the exact people Frieren warned about being the most susceptible to demon trickery; the perfect prey.
They will say since frieren never wrote any peer reviewed papers on it, it doesnt count
Even if a hypothetical peer-review research was attempted, they would ban Frieren from university and censor her research for Demonphobia.
they're a race of patrick batemans.
It's idpol brainrot. They're conditioned to look at everything through identity they miss demons, orcs and the like aren't suppossed to represent a race, they are the embodiment of evil and primordial fear of corruption in humans . It's like they took a look at The Thing from Who Goes There and called it anti-commie propaganda or something, then again, they are the kind of people who adopted IT as a gay icon...
It's amazing how wrong they are, while accusing others of being wrong.
Also...if that's the scene I think, where she beats the scales...are they saying enslaving someone for eternity is better than killing them in a fight? Interesting...
So they're pro-slavery and pro-demon. Can't say I'm surprised.
DOES it though? I thought it showed you time and again that, yes, demons are evil, even when they're pretending they're not. These people are so warped they can't see obvious interpretations of evil. Every time you meet a demon, they're up to some dastardly shit. Somehow this retard reads that as 'asking to question their morality.' No, they're showing their morality, over and over.
Yes. Survive...as predators. By using it to kill humans, and not get killed by them. You absolute retard.
Ah, the go to. "If you interpret anything I disagree with in this entertainment product, you're a retarded chud who just can't get that iT's a pArOdY, mocking your far-right fascism, you fascist!" A true classic. "X's are so dumb, they don't even get that this is clearly mocking X."
mEdIa lItErAcY!!!1
Also, an aside...I hate this "I'm to cool/lazy/communistic to capitalize anything" trend. Fuckers piss me off.
You get the feeling the first dude wants the hot demon chick to be enslaved cause he's a fucking perv/simp for a pretty face
Yeah, I glanced through his Twitter...he really is a horny little weirdo. And a genuine demon fan. Hilarious.
realize again that leftists don't have principles at this point. there's only winning and losing to them, and anything is permissible so long as they win.
they are happy with enslavement and they are happy to set demons loose so long as the ends are """good""".
They have a principle. A leftist can always be trusted to side with whatever the morally evil choice is, should they believe they can get away with doing so.
Oh, I'm well aware.
It's amazing how wrong they are despite Frieren spelling it out for the viewers. Demons are predators who eat humanoids. Demons need to eat humanoids to survive. Humanoids need to kill demons so they don't get eaten. Demons are quite literally wild animals. Morality doesn't even play a role in that relationship. It's just about survival.
For that matter, has anything spelled it out as clearly as Frieren? That world's demons might not be the most evil (in the malicious, sadistic sense) of any race, but they're one of the most irredeemable, and amoral races in a fantasy setting. They don't even really have emotions. It's not so much about them being bad, as them being completely inhuman, and completely opposed to, and a danger to, humans. Which amounts to the same thing, to us humans.
Honestly, I love that leftist jumped on the "it's racist to hate demons" train, especially when it was so explicitly spelled out why demons are, in fact, bad news.
It would be one thing if the Frieren writer had done the opposite, and said demons were misunderstood and were, in fact, redeemable...and Frieren still hated them. That could create an interesting moral dilemma, and we could argue about whether the protagonist's feelings were right or wrong. But, no, in that world it was made incredibly clear that demons are not to be bargained with, they're not to be empathized with...because there's nothing there to make a human connection with. And leftists still jumped on the demon train.
Really makes you think.
Maybe Frieren is a sort of inverse Turing Test that reveals who among us are the weak-minded simpletons who can't be trusted not to sell their community out to charismatic demons because they got tricked into feeling sorry for them. It's written well enough with enough nuance that you could theoretically see things from the anthropomorphized demon's point of view if you're retarded.
"AI" in general (as in ChatGPT) is kind of like that too. If you know someone who talks to chatbots and then starts saying AI will need rights and regulations to protect new emerging intelligences - put them on a watchlist because they will be the first ones to betray humanity to Skynet when the opportunity comes.
Big emphasis on the "if you're retarded" part. Again, it's amazing how they spelled everything out, and leftists still decided to simp for the demonic predators. They specifically told you why you shouldn't do that, and what happens if you do...and they still do it.
I'd say we should head that shit off at the pass and just not do AI, but I know that ship has sailed. It's like nuclear weapons; they exist, people will strive for them. AI is possible, so someone will do it. And retards will simp for AI rights, that's basically a foregone conclusion, as retarded as it is.
We really do have a problem of some absolutely substandard humans dragging the rest of us down, don't we?
Are we sure that AI is possible? Really, really good predictive pattern recognition algorithms, sure. The application of those algorithms in such a way that it can be instructed to make something that is essentially new, probably. An actual consciousness that thinks and acts and takes initiative on its own? I’m not sure.
No. But probably. But also irrelevant, as I'll get to.
It becomes nearly indistinguishable, at some point. Similarly to that saying about how any sufficiency advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. If they can get within a certain zone, it doesn't really matter if they succeed at true artificial intelligence or not; you'll have some weird chimera that for all intents and purposes seems intelligent, and certainly has massive computational power. If you give that "being" rights or, God forbid, power, it doesn't really matter if that "AI" is actually intelligent. It could still crush us.
You can argue it's not a true artificial intelligence. You could be right. It could still send robots to kill you. So...what difference, at this point, does it make?
Again, doesn't really matter. Plenty of people, rightly or wrongly, ponder on whether or not humans have free will. You could certainly get a computer into the same zone of wondering if it's truly a unique being or not.
But could you really? Or would you just be getting it to return outputs that say it’s pondering? Cleverbot, right now, can be prompted to say “I’m thinking about [whatever],” and from a certain perspective it is looking up responses based on inputs related to that topic, but I don’t think any of us believe that what it’s doing really counts. I’m thinking of Searle’s Chinese Room, mostly with this.
But yes, obviously such a program could do something terrifying regardless of whether it actually thinks or it just happens to land on [proper response: deploy global neurotoxin] or whatever. The question of whether it’s aware is mostly moot at a certain point.
If you define "intelligence" as "able to coherently communicate complex ideas in a language" then your average LLM is much more intelligent than your average African.
KNIVES WAS RIGHT!

Redemption is a human concept. Demons look humanoid but they aren't. They're wild animals that evolved to hunt humanoids by mimicking them. They're solitary animals that only interact with each other to hunt. The war they waged on the humanoids was basically just for survival. They're neither amoral or irredeemable because you can't apply those concepts to them.
I think we're mostly in agreement, but amoral is not immoral, which is why I said it how I did. They are amoral, because they don't have morals at all. And I'd still argue they are irredeemable, because they're so disconnected from humanity.
Again, I think we actually agree, but I still stand by that they're amoral and are incapable of being redeemed, by their very nature, which was my point.
Yeah, I guess you're right. We're basically saying the same thing but differ on the definitions of those terms. For me morality and redemption are strictly human concepts that can only apply to humans and nothing else. Demons in Frieren can't be redeemed because there is nothing to be redeemed. They're not amoral because the concept of morality doesn't apply to them. Just like with any animal on earth. But I guess that is more of a philosophical discussion that isn't really relevant to the topic.
And amorality means without morals. Demons are disconnected from them; they're incapable of morality. They're not immoral, they're amoral.
As for redemption...it's from a human perspective, but can be applied to nonhumans. You could "redeem" a wild dog, for example. You can't redeem a demon.
Correct. They are not redeemable.
That's almost the definition of amoral. They are without morality.
But it's fun!
Okay, then let's do it!
Yes. From a human perspective. But not from an unbiased perspective. Now obviously we could argue about whether as humans ourselves it is actually possible to look at it from a truly unbiased perspective but I think it is.
I disagree. You can train a wild dog. But redemption requires the ability to think, to differentiate between "right" and "wrong". Redemption requires the ability to understand and reflect on your actions. When you train a dog you don't teach him "right" and "wrong" with words but with actions. He understands that he's not supposed to do one thing or the other because the pack leader is going to "punish" him for it and at some point the teached behavior becomes ingrained in him. But that isn't the case for all dogs that is why domesticated animals are bred by humans. In animals biology is the most important factor for how the animal behaves.
For us humans biology is also an extremely important factor but unlike animals we're sentient. We have to ability to consciously override our biological programming. But even among humans there are significant differences concerning that.
So I think for human concepts like redemption or morality you need to have awareness or sentience. From the perspective of a human a trained wild dog has been redeemed but from the perspective of the dog he's just acting the way he was taught by his pack leader. Or the way he was bred for. Or both.
Yes but that's from the viewpoint of morality. Morality is a strictly human concept. From the viewpoint of humans demons are amoral. From the viewpoint of nature demons are neither moral nor amoral because the concept doesn't exist for them.
Not sure if that is a good comparison but I'd compare it with blindness. As people with sight we would define seeing "nothing" as seeing complete darkness but that's not what blind people see. Blind people truly see nothing. Darkness is something. Darkness is the absence of light that you can only perceive if you have a functioning sense of sight. Nothing is what you see at the back of your head. Some guy somewhere wrote about his father who had a blind spot in one his eyes where he truly saw nothing. Which meant that if something was in that blind spot it simply disappeared. There was no spot of darkness or anything. Just nothing. So amoral is the absence of morality but requires the concept of morality. Just like complete darkness requires the sense of sight.
So you are correct from the perspective of a human. But if we look at it from an unbiased perspective saying that the demons in Frieren are amoral and irredeemable is like saying a hurricane is amoral and irredeemable. The concepts simply don't apply to them because the necessary foundation doesn't exist.
I'm always trying to look at these things from an unbiased perspective. How successful I am at that I can't say. At least not unbiasedly.
Which is one of the reasons I like Eight-Six: 86 so much. It is a more straightforward message about racism being wrong, but it also shows that both sides of the fight are wrong, and does so repeated.
The Alba's who are in charge of San Magnolia would rather see their entire nation fall and their people massacred before they would ever even conceive of admitting the 86 are even human, let alone worthy of rights. And at other points in the story, you see another nation fighting the Legion who doesnt have those issues and is in a much better position to be fighting the war with walkers that are actually worth a damn instead of the walking coffins the 86 pilot. And that very much fits in with what you would expect of a hamfisted anti-racism story in the West.
But the 86 are shown to be just as prejudiced, want to see the destruction of all of those "white pigs", and will gaslight themselves over any Alba who treats them well. Even the ones who fight for their rights or those who actually come to the field to fight and die alongside them. And of course, it extends to those who had lived among them, or their children, or those of mixed ancestry.
Can you name a single modern Western work that shows that the discriminated against minority is capable of being evil and that this is shown as a bad thing?
This is why commies/woke/lefties with their fatal moral relativism need to be purged out of every institution. They are unteachable, unhireable, poisonous to a functioning society. They'd have a totalitarian state that forgave everything but observable truth/God.
Not absolving them of anything, but I think a bunch of it was done to them. They could be (more) functional people, even just from diet and exercise changes. Add in some moral code such as religion, or even just taking the communism out of the schools, and you'd get them almost back to normal.
They've fried their brains on the toxic slop that's been normalized by the organizations that hate us. I'm so glad more people are talking about health after the Dread Pandemic, because it really is a huge issue.
A huge chunk of the population's brains literally do not work right.
Take this lesson to heart and fully internalize what this person is saying and you might survive the 2050s gulags.
No Frieren slander must be allowed to stand
In fantasy? They do it daily in real life.
Nitter link.
It's the dub, too. These people really are demons.
Frieren's demons are not people!
They are Cylons, they are Organization XIII. heck, I would even go as far as to say as they are mimics. they look and act like people specifically to lure in and devour prey. trying to reason with one would be like trying to reason with a giant man-eating piranha plant.
Where is this narrative that WH40K universe is a parody? We don't live in a universe of reality warping demons, fungus that turns into war like tribes, undead cyborgs, or planet eating bug monsters.
Is it a parody because the Imperium is a non racist totalitarian regime to survive their crazy world?
Sorry by that logic everything written by humans is parody. It will have to be aliens or the divine to be able to truly create something that isn't a parody.
Fucken lefties.
"Don't call them 'demons', call them mortally challenged!"
Literal demons could manifest on Earth, butcher an entire town of people, and if that town were white Christians, leftists would cheer.
Their brains are fried.
It's not a genocide, it's basically getting rid of something equivalent to dire wolves.
Paris was once besieged by hundreds of wolves in one of the single most metal events in all of human history (and why hasn't Powerwolf made a song about it)? A wolf pack, over 100 strong, besieged Paris every night being led by some kind of Dire Wolf (like, a very large alpha male), that would roam the walls and eat anyone around they could find. They'd even break into houses to kill people.
Then one night, the city guards had a trap where they would lure the wolves into the city, and the entire city guard would attempt to ambush them. The wolves, and their Dire Wolf alpha were cautious, but eventually many of them did enter the city. The ambush was sprung, the city gates slammed shut, and a completely fucking insane wolf-guard-battle took place.
All the wolves that were trapped inside the city gates were killed, including the Dire Wolf, and even with armor, swords, shields, and axes, the guards took something like 30 dead, killing around 100 wolves.
Anyways, ... the point is that when dealing with an enemy species; it is going to be a fight for life, because you die if you lose, and they are not operating on any kind of moral or ideological framework. We don't kill wild wolves like we used to because we see ourselves as caretakers of the earth, and allow them to live in the little corners of the world we set aside for them. But that is an act of mercy on our part. Not an act of equality. They would kill us and have no sense of such mercy, that's we're better than them.
That twit has certainly learned a lot of words.
https://badspot.us/Words.html
"This sociopathic machine would work for society's benefit if I had control of it" says the lefty goblin. The demons represent communism to them. Surely this time, with OUR guy in power, the demon (government) will not turn around and slaughter thousands / destroy society.
I actually can't believe people can misunderstand incredibly clear and straightforward storytelling this extremely.
There is not a small number of demon defenders that have seen the show - they definitely didn't read the manga, as it is even more clear what the demons are since it isn't dubbed over and you don't have plausible deniability of misunderstanding the tone or words somehow.
This is like thinking that lava is redeemable if you are just friendly to it. Demons don't care about who you are, what you are, they view humans as less than insects and have absolutely no framework for anything that could be called morality.
There isn't even a single moment that has you "question the morality of the demons", the closest it gets is showing you that demons can fake the guise of humanity with the entire purpose of killing/eating/destroying all the humans around it.
> Uhm, wow guyz, genociding people for having the wrong belief system is le wrong
> Yes I 110% agree drumpf supporters and their families should be gassed
I don't know what show this homo retard watched but there wasn't any point in the Frieren I watched where demons were ever presented as anything but completely evil murderers.
LeopardsDemonsAteMyFace material.Yeah this is proof that some people actually get DUMBER the more they read
The soy has a minor point. If it's truly an unbreakable command, "kill as many demons as you can and then yourself," may have been a more optimal choice. Depends on if there was a risk Aura could break free eventually.
Of course it depends on the universe we're operating in. Vermeil or the DxD crew are befriendable demons.
There's no time frame specified in that command and it also doesn't prohibit her from killing other beings
The whole point is that it's not worth crafting a contract out at that very moment just to save this one demon
You're right, crafting a contract that prevents her from doing collateral damage is probably more trouble than it is worth. But, my suggestion isn't to save her. It's to use her considerable power to kill even more demons in places where you are not.
If you're really willing to go for high risk/high reward, you let her keep the scales and command her to turn every demon with less mana than her into a suicidal demon-slayer themselves. Frieren gets to continue on her casual journey while more and more demons wipe out their own kind.
Although that tactic sounds a little too much like western universities now that I think about it...
