Yep, that lie never held water. Face scanning is a solved problem that's been used in games for decades now. We already have documented evidence of devs admitting to uggifying models either for their stupid cult reasons or because some ugly female in middle-management demanded it, so this is one of the dumbest excuses they still try to pull.
Even just perceived attention. An actress shows up to do her job; guess what? You have to direct her. There will be a lot of interaction, back and forth, and possibly even positioning, requiring gasp physical contact.
Average manager? You go out of your way not to interact with them.
That never really works out for them.

They REALLY hate pretty women. The most spiteful, jealous and vindictive women occupy most Western game studios. They even turfed out the ones that had talent if you look at who wrote the original Last of Us.
Compare it with Asia and they KNOW beauty sells so why shoot themselves in the foot to be petty? Men they don't care as they are DESPERATE for handsome men because they clearly aren't getting them in real life..

Honestly, she isn't nearly as bug eyed looking in real life. Certainly to some extent as a lot of black women are, but not the comical exaggeration level they use in games.
Its arguable if they actually uglified her, considering what she has done to her body, but that's something they are still flanderizing about her appearance.
The only non-Asian female face that can be duplicated in a video game is Debra Wilson.
They managed fine with Yvonne Strahovski in Mass Effect over 14 years ago, there's no excuse except wide scale incompetence and malice for standards dropping so low when trends should be an improvement.

Shawn also played Lamplighter in The Boys, a character that basically was Pyro.
Better comparison for Andromeda would be Miranda from ME2 since its not only the same franchise but also several releases prior instead of just the immediate predecessor.
