Sorry for the low effort post but on a whim I decided to go check and what a bunch of faggots. Can they be any more cucked? Holy shit...
Also haven't been to r KiA in like three years, but god damn, playing their silly little reddit games like they're part of the reddit community, fuck... what a disgrace.
They should take down their own community mod posts about the solidarity protest since it doesn't meet their criteria of pertaining to nerd culture and gaming.
Or that cucked rule that forbids talking about anything reddit related
I'm sure this simping will make the rest of Faggit rethink their determination to torch the sub. And I'm sure that this will prove to Spez the tranny fucker that half KIA is a valued part of the Faggit community.
Reveddit already broke from a different thing, Pushshift got disabled
reveddit hasn’t worked for a while now…
It works partly…
Like you can see posts, but not comments, depending on when they got “removed” and by whom…
The other two, Ceddit and whatever the other one was - yeah, they don’t work at all, anymore…
The net-neutrality one was further back. The latest one (prior to this) was the the BS they pulled to get r/noNewNormal (and the other anti covid "wrongthink" subs) banned. That was at the end of 2021.
That was different, though - in that it was completely obvious that the reddit admins wanted to ban those subs, too, but didn't want the negative PR from just doing it outright. Thus, the sequence of events was; the power jannies complained about it, reddit put out a joke of a PR piece about how they weren't going to ban the sub, because reddit is pro free speech, then the jannies did what they are doing now, and then reddit "caved" - i.e., did what they were going to do all along, and banned the wrongthink subs.
Unfortunately, the useful idiots think it was their protest that worked last time, when the reality is they were just used to help with the PR impact, so now they are trying it again. I seriously doubt that stuff is going to work this time, though, as this time it's not ideologically driven.
This time it's about money -> control of the site's data, and they aren't going to give that up without a fight, as it's probably got a lot of value now (AI model training, advertisement, etc). It's the same reason they keep shitting up the mobile site, in an attempt to force everyone onto their shitty app (there was another huge controvery around the end of last year about how they removed the ability to have the site stop asking you to get the app, so now it obnoxiously prompts you for it, over, and over, and over...)
In any event, I'm hoping that this finally presses reddit into being forced to do something about the power janny issue. It's utterly ridiculous how much control a couple of unhinged radical leftist activists are being allowed to exert over a huge public square.
Don't misinterpret this as me thinking reddit will get any better, and that they'll replace them with someone/something better. I just want to see the current crop get shown the fucking door.
The way I vaguely remember it was that ISPs wanted to be able to create separate "lanes" for high volume traffic like video streaming so lower volume traffic could be more consolidated. The streaming services didn't like that, so they astroturfed the commies into believing it would end the internet as we know it or some bullshit.
Hey, remember how Workflix rate limited their own consumers and then blamed Comcast for the issue?
The real dumb thing about ’07-'18 NN advocacy fad was the ignorance of regulatory capture, the last mile, technical matters like buffer bloat, and more generally the merits of federalism/10th amendment or Bastiat's 'that which is not seen'. While antitrust is usually fake and gay, it is absolutely justified against telecoms who lobby for state legislation against municipal competition.
All the people who argued for neutrality for big providers of Layers 1-4 thought it was an absolutely grand idea for big providers of Layers 5-7 to discriminate based on content and viewpoint.
IOW they demanded neutrality for aspects of the internet that already were the most neutral WRT political speech and defended aspects of the internet that were the least politically neutral.
Which is a totally arbitrary and artificial (albeit politically convenient) distinction to make, and an obvious tell the whole thing was bullshit.
Layers 8 and above are always the worst.
There was one in 2021 which actually had a good cause: to get rid of Aimee Chancellor, an admin who was at least a close pedophile ally if not a pedophile himself.
The Streisand effect for that event was so absurd. Someone posted a news article relating to that person and the post and poster went up in a cloud of pixels. Problem was the poster was one of the most prolific on the ukpolitics sub so everyone realised something had happened which made more people start digging into what was going on.
Nobody probably would have given a shit if the original post had just been left the fuck alone.
I'M OUTRAGED THAT THIS JOB I DO FOR FREE SLIGHTLY MORE INCONVIENIENT!
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW DIFFICULT IT'S GOING TO BE TO KEEP TRACK OF EVERYONE'S POSTS ON MICROSOFT ONE NOTE!
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! YOU KNOW WHAT I'M GONNA DO? I'M GONNA WORK EVEN LESS!!!
The sacrifices I make for you people. You will never know my struggle.
You should wrote a book about it.
You fucking pleb, I've already written 700 pages. It's going to be a compilation from my substack:
https://substack.com/@FrolicOfTheFaggot
You should name your substack Mein Kampf if my joke wasn’t obvious enough.
Isn't my joke obvious enough?
The irony being that they have, and have always had, like 10-15 mods at a time.
Yet only 2-3 of them did any work*, while the rest circle jerked on discord and then whined about people hating on them.
*Even if that work was their own creation, stupid, and actively hindering.
I feel like having fewer people is much better anyway because it keeps numbers limited, and mission creep less possible.
Having more is only a boon when they all bring a diverse point of view that keeps the mod team from solidifying into a clique, which will always end with "us vs them" tribalism versus the users.
Its why I used to rail so hard against them for their private little discord. Because it was a major sign of them being friends instead of cohorts, which was one of the big reasons for the constant drama as they had to always rush in to defend their friends from the vile accusations and close ranks.
Please do.
And, for the record, not an attack on you personally, just my general attitude toward all jannies.
None taken, it's actually quite fair. If I do my job right, I do it as little as possible.
So that's why the retard fight thread is still up despite previous threads along the same line being removed, as well as the comments telling someone to drink bleach 🙄
So? If someone now goes and drinks bleach because some random stranger on a 100 people forum told him to then I think that's just natural selection at work.
God damnit
Thier discord is filled with troons and Fetishts nuff said
Wait, which one? "Vivian's Secret"? Because I think that's like 9 layers of shitposting, though I could be wrong. I also think that it's also not meant to be associated with the Reddit anymore since the reddit mods weren't mods of the discord, so they shat their pants because they couldn't control it.
They're still not going to be like here, since it's on Discord and I don't think they really want to get banned and have to try and rebuild, but from my limited experience there's far worse out there, even in the "non-woke" groups.
I had one trannie mod keep muting me and temping me for calling it out and then sending me trannie porn so IDK (and I was allowed to jew post so it's not that they're just weirdos IMO lol)
What a bunch of faggots.
tons of random subs are doing it. Randomly tried to look at some paleontology subreddit post for various reasons and it required a invite request. Really irritating.
They all did. Including NHL team subs.
NHL, like most pro sports, is hella pozzed.
I'm aware. But also the least pozzed of the bunch. Think of it like recruiting from TheDonald
I would have thought rugby was the least pozzed? No?
Among North American leagues that have traction, I mean.
Half kia isnt that bad. That daid this two day protest is retarded as fuck since it basically tells spez theyre all bitches whod bend over him to him the next day.
Half Kia is retarded because they never wanted to acknowledge the actual issues, that it's bigger than gaming.
Well the majority of the mods and userbase are open and proud Leftists who are happy to acknowledge that fact, thinking that the problem is "bad actors and loud minorities" ruining their totally legit movements.
If they acknowledge issues, then they'd end up acknowledging the flaws of the Left, and that would make them wrong. Can't do that.
Any time you point out it's a Leftist pushing whatever outrage is being peddled for the week, you'll always have a Squealer yammering whataboutism, horseshoe theory, or muh Puritans. You see, Both Sides™ are Just as Bad™; we can't only focus on the Left because surely, comrades, you do not want Jones back?
Don't you understand, their MOM said Harry Potter and Pokemon was the devil and tried to ban it back in the 90s. That means that both sides are equally evil at all times forever.
And don't you dare criticize women or gaypolycrabs, because both of those things are Mods so those can't be responsible for anything bad happening at all.
we don't even do gaming stuff anymore, save that guy who does massive compilation articles
That's because the Leftists have conquered mainstream gaming.
Half kia is like that boomer dad who still thinks the 80s and 90s is the best time in America. And by voting the right people in, we could all go back to those good times.
Sometimes the people there would have a stroke of revelation, but it's frustrating watching them unintentionally or intentionally not getting the point.
Also it doesn't help when that sub is saturated with shills and bots, who derailed the conversation.
It's pure controlled/performative oppoosition if ½kia doesn't go read-only after tomorrow. If the website has been declining since Aaron's departure in 2007 (Facebook tier content you find on r/all), it's taken a nosedive since the ban of FatPeopleHate.
Bunch of fence-sitters and confused leftists.
I miss fittofat always nice seeing people get shamed for porking out.
While I do agree that the API changes are shit (RIF and Apollo are decent apps, Reddit are just cunts), it's pretty funny that KiA, who continually bend the knee at every opportunity they get, continue to shill for the site and protest in favour of changes that will help preserve the site instead of letting the admin continue to burn it all down.
KiA jannies are intent on maintaining their little fiefdom because like nearly all jannies, they have no other control in their lives and need that to feel like they have something.
Rage for the machine.
I know for a lot of the smaller groups the reason they're doing it is to try and send a message about the platform as a whole getting more "racist". On average, communities that have done stuff like this will notice a decent-sized shrinkage afterwards of about 20% or so (they did a similar protest last year in their league of legends group and saw their base drop from 800,000 to about 715k).
They're basically trying the whole "30% of all suicides are women" argument only on a larger scale.
In the announcement post everyone was calling out how stupid the mods were being. For any anti-Democrat subreddit, staying open would have been a bigger poke in the eye than going private.
I'm not up to date on this, but why is this bad?
It's symbolic of being unified with the rest of Reddit in a common goal against the administration, despite the KIA subs being black sheep that mainstream Reddit openly shits on for being "far right" etc. and would happily scapegoat or sacrifice. It looks like pandering and dissembling behaviour from a simp bitch.
Both 'the rest of Reddit' and 'the administration' are absolute garbage, but divisions can be used to the advantage of communities like KiA.
By no means do I unconditionally defend the KiA moderators, and the current head mod I find particularly obnoxious, but I wouldn't automatically think that this is 'pandering' to anyone.
Ahh damn man, I always liked you, why you gotta do me like that.
Reddit is making API changes which will kill off third party apps. Traffic to KiA is around about 40% from third party apps. This will force everyone onto the first party apps which suck. While ultimately it will do nothing and the admins will ignore it, its the only way to say "this is stupid" to them.
The API changes are explicitly not going to affect mod tools or the ban bots that are running around autobanning users for participating in subs so all this does is force people onto the first party apps. I think this eventually will lead to the death of old reddit as well.
What's wrong with what I said? It's pretty balanced and I'm actually defending the KiA moderators, even though that is a very unpopular position.
Sounds to me like shutting down is good. Because killing competition will only result in the worsening of quality.
I'm the current head mod. Fji has retired.
Oh, nice. I was indeed talking about your predecessor. I have no reason to dislike you at all.
Cheers.
I still haven't gotten around to doing a meta post.
But who uses 'apps' (data-gathering software done easy) in the first place? I just use a browser.
A good chunk (55% ish) use a browser with little over 50% of that traffic being new reddit (ugh) and the rest being old.
Reddit on mobile browsers sucks, and I would guess a good portion of the traffic to that site is when people are sitting on the toilet delaying the wipe rather than people browsing it on their computer. That's just a guess but a lot of people just scroll on their phones while doing other stuff these days.
As you know, subreddit mods are often the ones who lead the charge against problem subs and get them taken down. This is a way for KIA mods to say, "hey leftist mods, look at us, we share common ground with you against spez et al., look how reasonable we are in joining forces with you! Please don't come after us in the future!" That's what this is.
But that doesn't sound like something they'd do. They're not that craven nor stupid enough to think this would prevent anyone from going after them.
