I've already stopped entirely drinking alcohol long time ago non-ideologically, having known too many of family members and friends who ended up alcoholics (never smoked too) (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

This goes beyond beer: stop supporting mega corporations. Period. Doesn't matter if it's beer or cereal or whatever.

All the brand name stuff you can buy in supermarkets is overpriced at best and unhealthy at worst. Go with store brand, or better yet make things yourself.

And that's before you even get into all that woke bullshit.

Wait, is this moron so stupid he is under the impression other beers don't exist?

The ENTIRE CRAFT BEER INDUSTRY EXISTS. Lots of them are woke dumbasses but you can find a local brewery ANYWHERE in the country.

We have a local brewery that literally hosted anti-lockdown groups. I have no problem giving that guy my money.

I didn't even know that guy was still on Twitter. He's one of the paid shills.

I posted about it a while back. Here's their tweet thanking Elon.

Reminder that all the left-wing accounts violated Twitter's ToS multiple times and were let back in. RW accounts were just banned for having the wrong opinions, despite abiding by Twitter's ToS.

They seemed to have gotten a lot less coverage after being revealed to be outright paid shills, probably to let the heat blow over so they could reemerge and resume activities.

I don't think this faggot has ever set foot in the beer isle.

Or better still, learn to brew your own, better quality beer made exactly to your tastes

The way modern beer is produced literally increases your estrogen levels. Try to drink beer without hops so gruit. That's how most beer historically was made.

Suddenly the people I've met who were big fans of IPAs (and why are there so many of them these days?) make a lot of sense.

Can I get a TLDR summary please?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼

Royalty through history were cannibals, and would keep their subjects docile and fat with beer, and put their royal seal on the beer to claim their subjects. The beer added flavor to the subject the king liked, and would keep his supply of human meat going by kidnapping drunks through trap doors in pubs. There's interesting stuff that follows about underground cities and ancient elites that live there.

Dumbass is acting like there aren't already a million brands of beer out there, both big and small. Buttwiper is hardly the only one out there. But then, lefties are all about rallying behind corporations and their every attempt to nickel-and-dime them of everything they have, even while they decry the evils of "late stage capitalism!"

Seriously. Who's going to drink faggotbeer?

People who're already addicted to alcohol, and people too young to have shaken off the education system's programming?

Great. This'll do wonders for getting 30+ year olds to stop poisoning themselves.

If you're that desperate to continue drinking, just start homebrewing. It's really not that hard. I don't even drink, but I've grown up with people who used to homebrew beer, and it's not hard.

Remember, doing it yourself where possible is almost always the best solution. Schooling is fucked? Homeschool. Eat the bugs? Hunt your own meat. Beer companies are pozzed? Make your own.

The more independent you get, the less power these corporations have over you. And frankly, it's even better if you can get more people/friends involved to try and arrange swapping goods between each other. Voluntary division of labour free from those that want to interfere.

That's a great slogan, and one I don't even disagree with, but we both know that will never happen. Macho talk of revolution doesn't lead to any sort of change. In fact, I've found it's more likely to placate the people who continually engage in such language, as a way to trying and convince themselves that shit isn't that bad, because they could revolt and fight back at any time. They won't, but they "could".

You know what is more likely to happen though. Actually taking steps towards real independence free from relying on the state as much as possible. People love to talk bit about revolution, but the chance are it won't be happening in the lifetime of anyone posting here. You're better off putting in the effort at your own self-betterment than fantasising about what won't come to be with you around (and that isn't to say you shouldn't be prepared for it just in case, just don't rely on it happening).

See, I stopped drinking once I realized how expensive it was. Like even now I could either buy 2 cases of beer, or enough supplies to repaint 3 cars.

I brew my own beer, it's easier than you think. And cheap to start if you have like basic kitchen equipment and tools.

Beer is life and no fucking corporate kowtow is going to change that.

Summer is coming. I'm gonna brew a batch, when ready I'm gonna give out some and the rest I won't even bottle, just gonna ladle my cup into the bucket like it's 1499.

Glad you managed to not drink. I used to barely drink because I did not like it and now I'm drinking a couple of beers almost every evening after work.

I really do have to cut down on beer.

I do this, to some extent, too…

It isn’t healthy, but for me, the alternative of being so overwhelmed as to be non-functional is worse, lol…

But I manage to be sober most “work nights”, so that’s at least something, I guess…

Everyone has their vices. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree on sick but no so much on fat. A beer is not that bad for your weight. 2 beers are between 420 kcal and 520 kcal for the brands I like. If you do not go overboard with food and sweets you are going to be fine. Soda is way worse for you.

I'm also in the camp of not drinking or smoking (I also don't drink coffee but I suspect that one is less common)

Tried each once and decided not for me. Though I will drink the new years glass with the family, don't want to spoil the tradition.

To be fair, Slavic people tend to be melodramatic misanthropes, so it's way easier for us to become alcoholics. Don't blame alcohol for our own shortcomings.

You're more likely to find good beer by looking at local/regional breweries anyway.

permalink save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– jenniferq8 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Absolutely. Most small breweries will make a light lager that people who want to drink bud light can have and it will be far better. The trick is finding a place that is good enough that you want to keep drinking their beer, but small enough that ABINBEV doesn't swoop on them the moment they start distributing.

It's funny cuz it's actually true. Hops is one of the most potent phytoestrogens there is, and drinking a lot of it will absolutely make you an effeminate pansy with bitch tits.

Personally, I drink hard liquor when I actually decide to drink at all.

Anheuser-Busch InBev bought 17 craft breweries from 2011-2020 and owns more than 600 brands. They own Michelob and Budweiser as well.

You're giving money to the same people.

Practice complete abstinence, brethren.

I drink. It’s not that hard to avoid AB-InBev owned brands, at least where I am… 🤷🏻‍♂️

It won’t make any difference to anything, but why would I drink that utter shit, anyway?

Of course, most people won’t even notice or pay attention, so… Doesn’t even make the slightest dent, to them.
