I agree on sick but no so much on fat. A beer is not that bad for your weight. 2 beers are between 420 kcal and 520 kcal for the brands I like. If you do not go overboard with food and sweets you are going to be fine.
Soda is way worse for you.

It isn’t healthy, but for me, the alternative of being so overwhelmed as to be non-functional is worse, lol…
But I manage to be sober most “work nights”, so that’s at least something, I guess…
