My favorite is "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday", because my dad liked it and we always played it while decorating the tree when I was little. It brings back nice, happy childhood memories.
Least favorite by a mile is "Stay Another Day", which is a simp anthem disguised as a Christmas song, and then "All I Want For Christmas Is You" which is excruciating. Actually, I might overrule that and say I hate "Santa Baby" more, because it's just a gold digger begging for gifts.
Favorite: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Least: All the coommercial stuff
Have you heard this version?
Amazing
I detest most of them unless it's something traditional like Joy to the World or Holy Night.
They're not Christmas songs unless they're about the celebration of the birth of Christ. Otherwise they're wintertime songs. They've also been playing them on repeat at every store for decades because THEY hate Christ.

Anything by Nat King Cole. Especially Oh Tannenbaum.
Hate? Anything in the last thirty years.
Love: White Christmas, such an amazing song. Hate: Most of it has been mentioned already except one: Last Christmas, I hate this song with a burning passion, it's not a Christmas song.
Die Hard is more of a Christmas movie than Last Christmas is a Christmas song.
Die Hard is a great Christmas movie though

Holiday music by people who hate Christ.
My favorite will always be Carol of the Bells, but of the renditions I love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra one the most.
Least favorite is All I want for Christmas. Can't stand Mariah and that song is overplayed to Hell and back
I had to explain to someone the other day what TSO is because they had never heard of them, and said "they do like this really cool modern rock version of Carol of the Bells."
Then I remembered the song came out over 20 years ago.
Yeah my mom took me to see them when I was in high-school. Every time I remember that I realize I'm old
Worst: The "New Shoes/Momma meets Jesus Tonight" song, which is just miserable and depressing. At least most ConsumeProduct songs try to be at least remotely feelgood, but that one... Anyone who LIKES it, should be on suicide watch. "Oh, I love that song about the broke kid begging to get a discount on shoes because he wants to show his dying mother that he can afford shoes the day she dies. My favorite song! Really brings up the spirits!"
Best: "Make It Christmas Day.", a simple Christian Rock song about praying to Jesus being particularly good to do on Christmas day. I'm not usually much for Christian rock, but it serves its purpose well in this setting.
(((Christmas Shoes))) was gonna be my worst of pick, too but Crosby and Sinatra piss me off too much from a technical, performance side to ignore
Jesus: Thorry, but you're not gething into Heaven with thothe thoeth, honey.
God, that first one really exists? And I thought the simping love songs were the worst.
If you want to torture yourself, here's the link. It was popular enough to be adapted into a movie.
It's not popular, but I enjoy this version of The Boar's Head Carol.
Favorite: O Holy Night. I can't think of a Christmas song that describes the meaning of Christmas any better.
Least Favorite: All I want For Christmas by Mariah Carey. It sounds like an innocent upbeat pop song, but the lyrics are just hinting at pre marital fornication.
Agreed. Plus Mariah Carey is played everywhere for some damn reason during Christmas.
Favorite: https://vid.puffyan.us/watch?v=Q5T-epVCE6E
Least Favorite: Every single rehash done by some Mariah Carey or Chris Brown wannabe who feels the obnoxious need to pitch check and overly-inflect every single note of every syllable of every word of a children's Christmas song. On repeat everywhere I go.
I can't stand when people do that. The black little mermaid with the very distant eyes also does that and Part of your World really didn't need it.
Favorite Angels We Have Heard on High
Don’t really hate any
Favorite to hear once a year is The Little Drummer Boy. It does get old fast though. Silent Night is also up there.
Least favorite is Christmas Shoes and a lot of the real commercial pop ones. Also despite my love of the Beach Boys, I don't really like Little Saint Nick
Charlie Brown's Christmas Dance, Vince Guaraldi Trio - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1LUXQWzCno
Mr. Bean does Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWGZdYNpaSo
Favourite, probably Fairytale of New York as no matter of drunkenness, singing ability or accent you can manage it otherwise does this count as perfect tune for last minute present shopping!
Least: I would say Mariah but I lean more on which ever cookie cutter one they do with the current 'popular' singer/band they do every year..
Yeah, I love Fairytale, too. Forgot that one!
May I also recommend “White Wine in the Sun” by Tim Minchin, in a somewhat similar vein. It’s actually great.
Silent Night. My family sings it every Christmas Eve.
I don't hate songs, but I do hate renditions. Porky Pig singing Blue Christmas for example.
Best: Rusty Chevolet. It has more to do with Christmas than the song it's parodying. Also Carol of the Bells, though that sounds less like a Christmas song and more like final boss music.
Worst: Christmas Shoes. It's emotionally manipulative and has a consumerist bend even while trying to be spiritual. Yeah, like Jesus would actually care what shoes you're going to wear when you show up at the Pearly Gates.
Favorite is a tie between Silent Night and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
My most hated song is Paul McCartneys Simply Having. A Wonderful Christmas Time. Not sure exactly why but I can’t stand that song
Love: “Chestnuts Roasting” (my favourite) and “Have Yourself”, and the classic of “Wenceslas”
Hate: “God Rest Ye”, and pretty much any pop singer’s Christmas shit.
Though I did involuntarily have “Last Christmas” as my incoming “caller tone” (what the caller heard) for years…
Someone must have set it up as a prank, and my carrier wouldn’t get rid of it until, like, two years ago, nearly a decade later, ha…
Also, “Carol of the Birds”/Orana, because it’s so Aussie, lol…
Honorable mentions: Aussie Jingle Bells and Shchedryk (latterly, and inappropriately for the season, “Carol of the Bells”), because, well, of course…
Fav: tie between "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "Christmas Time is Here" from Peanuts.
Least: It's Cold Outside. Not because of sexism or anything but just because it's a bland song that people insist on fighting over.
Bonus: I actually like "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Sue me.
I like the ones about Jesus, angels, blessings. I have total disdain for Santa stuff especially Jingle Bells assigning him the power of omniscience and the right to judge your soul. It's almost like someone who hates celebration of Jesus, God & Holy Spirit was trying to fill His niche with a toy commercial mascot.
I'm also a sucker for All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Favorite: Christmas Truce by Sabaton or perhaps just the entire Christmas Eve and Other Stories album.
Hated: Anything you can hear in a store. It's all souless crap meant to demean Christmas.
Favourite non-traditional: Merry Xmas Everybody. I just love the energy and me and my friends loved to scream "It's Chriiiiiiiiiistmassss" at the top of our lungs when we were young so it has a special place in my heart
Favourite traditional: "Bóg się rodzi" ("God is Born"). People who enjoy Civilization will surely know this song, because Firaxis used it as a theme of Polish civ
I hate when celebrities and "music stars" try to sing older songs "their own way"
Amazing: Basically anything Clamavi De Profundis; it's really powerful stuff.
Three of my favorites from the above playlist: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, We Three Kings, and Christmas Medley.
As to what I hate, most of the stuff they play in stores; it's usually sappy and just feels a little slimy, and I know it's driving the employees crazy too. Not pleasant, although occasionally you'll hear something awesome. But that's pretty rare.
Hate: literally any of the ones written by a former member of the Beatles.
Favourite: the one by no doubt about fighting and swords and blood and God saying 'Oi!' a lot
Favorite — In the Bleak Midwinter
Least — anything by Blew-gay (Michael Buble), honorable mentions to that piece of shit “Marshmallow World” song and that one Beatle’s “Wonderful Christmastime” slog.
This is currently my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joWd2P-6keM
Not sure I have one I hate. Well, not one I can mention by name though.
