The books have stiff writing to them that isn't the fault of the translators. I believe Liu Cixin is a computer programmer, and it shows. That's not to say the books are bad but characterization takes a back seat to the overall "ideas" the books are presenting you with.
So it's not surprising that there are swapping around characters because the characters that existed were already superfluous.
However I think they are doing more to set up later seasons, what would be the second and third books, because Three Body Problem as a first book is really more of a prologue for what's to come.

There might also be some sample bias. "These deaths" are people who started their manga/anime/videogame/etc. careers in the 1980's-1990's when they were in their 20's-30's on average. People are starting to get old. Yes dying in your 60's is young but as pointed out, given the workaholic culture it's not that surprising and for every person dying that young there are still hundreds others living, they just don't make the news.
The Deaf community (yes, they have Deaf capitalized) is full of psychos that are convinced being deaf isn't a disability (they'll still take disability money tho!). They refuse to acknowledge that being deaf is SUCH a disability that it has shrunk their world and limited their communication so they develop strong attachments to other people who rely upon the special language they need to communicate without using sound.
They are SO attached to this that deaf parents often refuse to cure their babies if they end up with hearing problems and often celebrate if the baby is also deaf.
They are SO insular and elitist that often people who want to learn sign language who do not have hearing impairments get chased out for being posers.

Like it or not, Taylor Swift is a billionaire and an insanely popular music star. That means a lot of people could potentially stalk her/her boyfriend, either as a mad fan or someone who just wants to stir shit up. Even if you're rich, you don't want to deal with some sexual scandal and/or a lawsuit.
This whole thing is rooted in the No Child Left Behind act bullshit. Schools became about getting standardized tests scores high rather than making sure students learned stuff, when students couldn't pass they just lowered the bars, when shitty students failed they just passed them anyway to keep the 'graduation rate' high.
Parents wealthy enough to move to a better district or to homeschool their kid meant less money for the school district, making it harder for any kid who actually wanted to learn, which led to more students leaving. Since the vast majority of families that could afford to do this were white, this got branded as White Flight.
Instead of course-correcting the rot NCLB has done, they've decided the reason kids aren't thriving is racism. Kids have no discipline at school, and of course their parents don't give a crap either and think it's the school's job to raise their kids.

The game companies are afraid of people finding out because then it will reveal just how deep the rot is in gaming companies already before Sweet Baby Inc. gets their stinky diaper-encrusted fingers all over the game.
Currently game journalists and some game devs are attempting to double down on defending Sweet Baby Inc. but considering how both the curator group and the harassment campaign against it have brought massive amounts of attention to it, it's possible that game companies might try to throw Sweet Baby Inc. under the bus, or at least distance themselves. The curator group will probably his 250k followers by tomorrow, the news has spread throughout all the reactionary channels on Youtube, etc.
Whipping out hit piece articles might not be enough. Don't be surprised if the usual suspects try to slither away and start a new company under another name and try it all over again. Without transparency, we are left to speculate just to what degree has Sweet Baby Inc. changed games. It's like someone caught red-handed but he's stubbornly keeping his hands behind his back and hoping that we spontaneously forget that we are looking into the face of a criminal.
